    • @hmslc8289
      @hmslc8289 Před 9 měsíci

      @@stawz_Your fan curve absolutely does matter. If you set your CPU cooler to have two speeds it will make a world of difference.
      Eg I set my cooler to only 30% speed up to 65 degrees so if I am doing anything light eg web browsing it is quiet. Then between 65-85 degrees it goes to 75% speed. This for when I am gaming or doing other intensive tasks, 75% is the highest tolerable speed for me. This means that the cooler isn't constantly ramping up and down, it picks one of the two speeds and sticks to it
      Then for above 85 degrees it's set to 100% speed as a panic mode in case the CPU ever gets really hot for whatever reason

  • @ghosttheoremproductions5469

    PWM isn't control via voltage up/down. That's DC. PWM is pulse width modulation. The device is constantly getting a series of pulsed voltage at a fixed/full value. As the name implies, speed is adjusted by modulating how long those pulses are. Think of it like driving by only standing on the gas pedal or being completely off the gas pedal. But you have to switch between them really really fast and choose your speed by how long each gas pedal stand is. Terrible for cars/driving but great for electric motors and actually allows finer control.

    I'm genuinely happy the 13th gen stock cooler is perfectly usable, even as an AMD user. AMD has gone backwards by only including the Wraith Stealth on the 5600/X and 7600 while completely abandoning their wonderful Spire cooler (used on R5 1600/2600X/3600X). Hopefully competition heats up on this front and future mainstream CPUs can be used with the stock cooling without any worries and/or hassles.
    I built a PS5 equivalent PC late last year for myself and my brother using a R5 5600, and initially it was hitting 80C even in lightly-threaded games. Luckily, mid-2022 and later runs of this CPU are apparently great bins, and after using Curve optimizer (it ended up applying a -0.3V undervolt to the CPU at stock speeds, and months later no side effects are in sight) and tuning the system fans a bit it quite simply refuses to cross the 80C threshold, even in demanding games like Death Stranding. But I doubt the average user has the time to research all these aspects (many don't even bother to check the built-in Windows HW monitor), so yeah, good stock cooling should definitely be praised.

    I5 lol now try it with a i9 13900k or i9 14900k CPU I wouldn't run any of those cpus on a stock cooler i5 is baby of all cpus

    The last decent box cooler Intel made was for an LGA1366 CPU. 😂

    Just another reason why I prefer AMD. The stock cooler they use these days is very good and it's absolutely fine I'd say up to Ryzen 5 if you don't overclock. It's a shame they don't include it with more CPUs

      yes they are made by coolermaster, so quality is good actually, and its indeed good maxed 4 cores 72c with no noise heard whatsoever, it was the lowest wraith, i believe the rgb is the highest end

    It's criminal Intel includes these, a stock cooler should be only included if the temps max out at 75C at full load.
    I get that it's not going to hit 100% usage if you're only gaming most of the time, but still, a $25 cooler is essential for these IMHO

    • @thepilot4578
      @thepilot4578 Před rokem +1

      The max temp is 100c and 75 is quite low for these cpus. My intel cpu (i5 11400F) always hits 80-85 while gaming and it's a perfectly acceptable temp. No performance issues and it has been running since 2021. And it's not criminal, so stop exaggerating! Useless comment..

      @n n Maybe that is your problem? I used Intel stock cooler in the past, since SB era, 2600K and 6700K (no point in OC, since the boost is already OCing).
      I know how to manage the fan curve, and knows it's expected range.
      At 70%-90% cpu usage, steady 80C, fan is fast, but quiet enough and still within the boost range, while gaming, that is perfectly fine.
      My ears aren't strapped next to an open test bench.
      Even in a case, the sound is more of a low pitch hum.
      So it is definitely your issue 🤣🤣😂😂
