  • see the detailed article here goo.gl/9wB5Tg and visit the store here weldmongerstore.com/ Roy Crumrine aka "crummy_welding" on instagram is building some aluminum iceboxes for corvettes. So its a good example of how to learn from watching someone elses technique... welder settings like ac balance, frequency, and amperage along with arc length, torch angle, speed of travel, addition of filler metal ...all make a difference and these are the things that you need to watch when you are trying to learn to tig weld.

You're so courteous. Even gave a warning to get out of the video before the ad started. I watched it anyway. Thanks for your videos I'm working my way into the trade.

Just that one little clip of Roy starting 1/4" off edge saved me! I was always Tac'ing my TIG welds on the edge/corner (like you might with a mig, doing sheetmetal), and having problems burning through. It seems simple, but the way Roy started 1/4" off, then just backed the puddle up slightly, then continue forwards with his bead showed me what I needed. Thanks Jody, thanks Roy.

I've never welded before and it will be a while if ever that I do(if that makes scene) but when a welding tips and tricks video comes up on my play list, I always watch it! They are to me what CZcams is about ,they are well put together with not to much fuss and a pleasure to watch! Thanks! from the armchair welder!

Thank you for your tips. They are really helping me with my welding jobs. And your welds are simply the best I have seen. I also like the way you have put ads at end so we can bail early, and the funny thing about that is I am more likley to watch whilst I have the option.

"learn from watching" works. I've watched a lot of aluminium welding videos. Now I've got an AC/DC welding machine, and I can do some welds that are not always beautyful but the parts hold well together. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I think textbooks will tell you to always add filler to the leading edge because with steel, where you add filler will typically change the profile of the weld bead and pool, but I think that the way an aluminum puddle acts it does really matter where you add filler, especially in a inside corner. Yk, surface tension and stuff

I'm seriously thinking about getting a powertig welder. You make it look so enticing.
