Yawn Airbed, Outdoor Revolution Sofa & Kampa Diddy Heater - Review

- We give you a completely honest review of the Yawn Airbed, Outdoor Revolution Sofa and the Kampa Diddy Heater. Apparently, the must haves for family campers?
Is the Yawn King Size Airbed comfortable and worth the reputation it has?
Does the Kampa Diddy Heater keep us warm?
Is the Outdoor Revolution better than all other inflatable chairs and sofas?
This was the first camp of 2022, in our Casa Vango Lux, and after suffering with backache and chills last year, we decided to go for bust. We knew we needed the best camping bed, the best camping sofa and best camping heater.
So, we bought the Yawn King Size Inflatable Airbed with fitted sheet, The Outdoor Revolution Campese inflatable Sofa and the Kampa diddy heater.
We were unable to find honest reviews of all this camping equipment, so we thought we would give you our honest opinion of each. With some of the items costing in the region of £100, we thought it only fair to let other people see what they get for their money, comfort or pain, heat or cold.
Will the items be coming with us on our next camping trip?
Well, we can say that the Yawn Airbed, surpassed all expectations and after being back only a week we have gone and ordered our second! If you want comfort when you are sleeping when camping, then this is the airbed to have. More comfortable than 2 x Highgear double mattresses inflated and stacked on top of each other! The anti slip sheet that was provided with it gave that extra stability, especially when you have a toddler jumping in and out of the sleeping bag that we had placed on top.
Then there was the inflatable Outdoor Revolution Campese sofa - Actually quite an expensive purchase for people that want to camp cheaply. We purchased for £80 in a Go Outdoors sale, but we have now seen them selling for in excess of £120! This was another great addition to our tent. It looks solid, and is so sturdy that you will not even feel that you are actually sitting on an inflatable sofa. The great things about both of these inflatable items was the fact that even though they did require a little of boost of air, we only needed to re-inflate them a small bit twice over a 7 day period.
Then there was the Kampa Diddy Heater. We had done quite bit of research into the purchase of our heater and a lot of camping forums and Facebook pages seemed to indicate that this was one that many people used to keep them warm at night. Small compact and with 2 settings, 1x 750w and 1 x 1500w, we thought this would be ideal. How wrong we were! After 3 nights we could take the cold no more and ended up purchasing another 2000w fan from a local shop. The difference was incredible. Now, this may have been due to the fact that we have a large family tent, and we are sure if you are camping in a smaller 2 berth tent this heater may well be suitable. But for families such as us, it did not tick the box, so please consider tent size before you purchase this equipment.

One tip is never fully inflate, only do to 90%. People have issues with them deflating, but we think it is because they inflate fully, and they leak/burst. Ours have been great, though👍
great video, thanks for honest reviews. FYI every inflatable product goes down especially when using an electric pump. This is because the air going in is hot ,this cools down at night when the temperature drops and cool air takes up less volume. There is also an element of stretch with any material that inflates.
Hi Dagnut, very true. we actually forgot to highlight that we did only inflate to about 90%, so that it allowed for a bit of stretch.

Oh dear Hadwins, you've got a lot to answer for. 😮 I was simply searching for reviews on the Yawn airbed and stumbled on your vlog. I'm not a camper, neither of us have camped since we were kids in the guides and scouts and we're 62 now! I just wanted the bed for extra visitors over Christmas etc. However......after watching a few more of your vlogs I am now the proud owner of an Outwell Phoenix 7ATC polycotten tent!!!!! 😂 We've had our first camp and absolutely loved it. We're hooked and can't wait to go again. Your recommendations for equipment have been spot on too and really helped with our set up.
Coincidentally, the tent came up a couple of weeks after first watching your vlog as a friend was selling theirs so we knew it was too good an opportunity to pass on. Also, there have been some great sales with additional discounts so we've got our essentials at really good prices. So the cost of the intial set up hasn't been too painful but we know it will pay for itself rather than paying for B&Bs in future. They will be a winter treat instead. We bought the Yawn airbed, 2 Outdoor Revolution armchairs and a footrest (all in sales.) Also, the griddle and the little collapsible campfire. All great recommendations. Even the velcro tip!
Next year we'll be looking at buying a roofbox for the car and would be interested in your thoughts or advice on those? Thank you and your family for your vlogs. They are very helpful.

As you start collecting the bits, unless you have a lorry or lol, a caravan to put them all in, a roof box will come in handy.
But, no matter how much room you have, you will always find something to fill it up with? And we are thinking of a new polycotton tent for next year..maybe we will see some videos of yourselves putting that up? All tips welcome😁
Honestly, considering we haven't put a tent up for a very long time, we found our trial pitch up at home went very smoothly. Being an air tent helped a great deal. The tent itself goes up really quickly with most of our time then spent on pegging out and guylines. It was a doddle to take down and put back in the storage bag. It is quite bulky to store though and definitely needed two of us to carry it. 💪😄 It did fit into our Mazda CX5, along with all the other equipment very neatly though and still getting clearance for the rear view mirror.
We're so glad we took the plunge and bought the tent. No looking back now! 😁

Hi, thank your for watching and subscribing, the toolstation heater is 2000KW. We did not have issues with anything tripping out. But, we also have an Oscilating Quest fan. They are about £30 at GoOutdoors and that one is better any other we tried. Enjoy your camping, it is great fun👍

Hi, it is just a guess, unfortunately. We just ensure that, like all other inflatables, it is only about 90%. That way, there is room for expansion. Sorry, we can't be any more help..

Air bed....Alvayzaire is the way to go. Tops up air from build in pump during the night...silently....but expensive.

You have to have a wire going into the bedroom on a permanent basis though.

Hi, we have just bought this bed based on your recommendation. What do you use to connect the bed to pump it up? Do you have an adapter for the car? If so, what do you recommend please? TIA :)
Hi, the plug it comes with connects to a normal camping adaptor, which you would use to an electrical hookup.
We are on our 5th trip with them now and can not fault them. Just be cautious that you do not inflate to 100%, only about 90%. If you fully inflate them so they are rock hard, you can end up damaging the valve. 👍
