    A guy on my Friday night league uses a modern version of this. It's called the Storm Power Glove Plus. Instead of a plastic wedge, it uses pads that can be swapped in and out depending on the size you want.

    Takes me down memory lane, I had this, probably still laying around somewhere. Same idea as the gloves with a pad in the palm, basically it fills up the space in the palm of your hand, it was comfortable and it works well enough, crazy as it may look.

    That glove actually goes back to the early 70's. I never saw anyone use this as a kid back then, only photos of Don Johnson himself in his book Inside Bowling. I do remember, however, another bowling accessory he made in the early 80's that was put on the index finger. It was plastic and had a couple Velcro straps to secure it. I can't remember what it was called, but my high school bowling friends and I called it the "nose picker"! đŸ‘ƒđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł

    Speaking of feeling the ball, and the inventions that are out there for bowling, I wish some one some way some how bring back the Don Carter glove. I loved it. Storm has something in that line, but does not have a pad to place in the middle of the palm.

    I know this is a little late for a comment, but, I really don’t see how that glove does anything. Lol. But I would like to see you investigate a gadget that they used to have out years ago if you could find it. It was called the kinetic controller Came in red, it had a couple of soft pads that you placed in certain areas so it wouldn’t hurt your hand. I had the Proto type which was all foam. When I threw the foam one, it actually brought my track higher because of the way it rested on my hand, the pinky finger elevated the ball which brought the ball up and the track. Back in the day, it brought my average up significantly. made my forearm a little sore, but that’s only because I was using it. Lol. Let me know if you come across this. I bowl two handed and one-handed for my spares. I could sure use it again for my one-handed spares. Take care.

    I’ve never been a fan of gloves. I like to feel the ball in my hand. I recently gave a buddy a glove that reminded me more of a golf glove. I believe it was made by storm. I never threw more than a few shots with it. And I believe it cost me about thirty bucks 😂. I guess there’s no substitute for a proper fit and putting practice in. But I watched the whole video.

  • @MarkBurkenbine
    @MarkBurkenbine Pƙed rokem +3

    You have to stretch your grip about 1/2 inch, add under to your fingers, right to your thumb, and 1/2 reverse. And those fingers better be tight. Now put that glove on, put your hand in your Manhattan rubber, fill the place with lucky Strike cigarette smoke, and WALLAH! You have the feel of the era.
