10-finger bandits -- T-shirt!
Brad doing a bit for Keeps was GOLD! LMAO!
Back in the day (mid '90's) I knew a guy that had a ball drilled for 3 fingers and the thumb. He didn't bring it out often, but he did throw it.
30 years ago when I worked in a pro shop, we had a few retirees that we drilled claw grips for. If you didn't get the pitches right, especially lateral pitches, it was very uncomfortable.
I've used a pinky finger hole for 20+ years. Helped take a bit of strain off the wrist and distribute the ball weight more evenly. I also have drilled balls with all 5 fingers in it before, but the addition of the index finger does two things: It causes you to go more up the back of the ball, and it also raises the track which, with the addition of another hole left of the middle finger, is a recipe for track thump. If you're going to add these in the future, there's a technique for drilling them; the pinky finger typically should be aligned on a 20-degree angle down from the center of the ring finger hole, and the index finger on about the same path down from the middle. The holes must then be rotated so that the pitches mimic the bowler's natural hand-closing method (typically means the pinky is turned clockwise 20 degrees, whereas the index can stay at about 10 -- but that will vary by bowler). The fact this ball had a conventional thumb probably made the pitch differences in the index and pinky feel worse. Using a pinky finger hole is sort of an analog to tucking the pinky, which doesn't hurt revs ... but adding the index to me always cut the rev rate a bit. The index also made it harder to make wrist position changes on the fly.
"220 avg bowler" did it first. Love these type of vids
Except he did it with a cordless drill free hand
@@mreid08 which is more impressive tbh lol
@@mreid08 except he didn't drill upside down, B&K drilled there's upside and 220 avg bowler didn't
Tomato Wado he didn't do it first cause he didn't drill his upside down, B&K drilled there's upside down 220 avg bowler didn't
you guys are my favorite bowlers! Keep the amazing videos coming and good luck on all upcoming events! This video was so awesome.
My Wife and I are both using 5 finger - finger tip grips. Age and Illness weakens ones grip. I have both urethane and reactive balls drilled this way. As a 50 year bowling coach I've had a number of students over the years that needed help holding the ball and did not want to go down to too light of a ball. It works well. A relaxed grip is helpful. The positioning of the pointing finger influences the ball track. I prefer it closer to the middle finger than would be expected. It allows me to have more control over various hand releases. I'm no longer a scratch bowler, but still enjoy the game and appreciate the exercise that it gives me.
This is how Brad wins next year. ULTIMATE POWER!!
Lmao I want to see the double sided 8 fingers for two handed, that would be hysterical.
220 average bowler did a video on just that!
@@Rascalibur 220 average bowler is fucking great
@@redact33333d Facts
Not legal. You can not have more than 5 holes and they all must be for gripping purpose. So this is a legal ball
@@jvmiller1995 that’s kinda the point… lol
Glad to see u guys are working hard on your games during the off-season
Home alone, Staring Brad and Kyle as the 10 Finger Bandits!
That's so awesome!! Plus, for Kyle to flush one and 7-9 was icing on the cake.
My fingers hurt just watching this! Nice to see coach join you. Fun challenge ... and one that I will never attempt!
Always wondered how a 5 hole drilled ball would throw, always thinking it should be amazing. Thanks for the experiment and showing it's not as amazing as expected for me (after seeing your hands!)
Since we all know this ball is never getting used again this would make a really good giveaway once you reach your next subscription goal! Autographs and "whole hand challenge" sounds about right! Just a suggestion! Btw the new tshirts somewhat match the color scheme of the gem lol!
I like the "thump, thump, thump" as it rolls over the holes. Sounds like it has a flat spot.
Plug for your membership. Just got my new Zen today for joining and learning tons just watching other guys videos. Got to get mine in yet. Coach Daniel is awesome. Keep up the great work guys!
Wow...I haven't bowled there in forever....it was still wood lanes..Randy Lightfoot drilled a red hammer like that once ..love your videos..great bowling this season guys !!
Hey Kyle, I’m from Warrenton Missouri, love watching you guys bowl
Love the video! Poor Coach Daniel who had to sit back and watch the chaos unfold 😂😂 (all jokes of course).
You guys rock! Period!!
Funny to hear the ball rolling over the thumb hole as it goes down the lane. Good video gents!
Brad doing an ad for Keeps made my day
You guys must have been inspired by Packy, lol. Also, just wanted to say...(and sorry to sound like a broken record), but I bowled my highest game last night, a 224!!! I choked in the 9th frame and missed a 7 pin, but other than that, I was confident of where to stand on the approach and what mark to hit. Didn't bowl a 600 series that I was hopeful about, but happy to have bowled higher than a 209. You guys inspire me and so many other people who want to get better at bowling. Keep doing what you guys do. I think I'm gonna go buy one of those shirts, heeheehee. :)
Good game keep ‘em rolling and improving
Keep it up brother!
I just went to your channel and watched a couple of your practice shots from January. Id like to suggest taking a slightly smaller first step and also slowing your feet down a little. Your first 2 steps should be slow and precise; Or do just 1 or the other. - good luck lady
@@716Adventures I’ve improved since then. I just haven’t made a video in the longest time. It’s amazing what differences you can make in your game in 4 months time. I also went to a 5 step approach and that improved my timing. Thanks for noticing my channel at least. 😉
@@ronniew238 they'll make back the cost of the ball in the ad revenue in this video
Awesome idea! 10 finger bandits next plz!
THOSE TIE DYE SHIRTS ARE SICK!
Great content. Keep it up.
It's been about having that common common setup of bowling ball and how to keeping it a good set up at full time
220 average bowler and B&K collab...please make this happen!!!
Once I heard you won on cheetah, bro I had to watch it. Now I'm back, way to go. Congrats Kyle... Been away from the site for a few months so it's a nice welcome back
that is a cool silhouette shirt idea and design, need to make one for brad too!
My brother did this with a plastic ball close to a decade ago, and we found out that throwing with the pinkie finger in makes flat-handing at corner pins a lot easier. Keeps you from going around the ball as much and keep the wrist flatter. I've been using spare balls with a pinkie finger hole ever since. It's kind of irrelevant now that I've learned how to properly flat-hand at spares, but it gives me a bit more control and stability over just using the ring & middle fingers.
Downside is that with the rule change in 2019, you have to use the extra finger holes at all times. That prevents me from throwing a hook with my spare ball (say for a 3-6-7-10) or using a urethane as a spare ball to keep one in my bag at all times.
I use to throw my ten pin with my fingers shifted. I would put my pinky and ring finger instead. It makes you push the ball more so it does not hook near as much.
When I first started bowling (when I was 6) I actually used my index and middle finger. I just assumed those were the fingers you used. Bowled my entire first year like that. Somehow never paid enough attention to everyone else bowling with different fingers than me. My Dad also watched me bowl like that the whole year, didn't say a word. (He had been bowling for 25+ years at that point so one would think he'd correct me pretty quickly...nope. I'm convinced he let me continue doing it as a joke to himself, lol)
I grew up in this bowling alley. Where the pro shop is, used to be a nursery to watch kids while parents bowled.
Bowling one handed with a Pinky hole is awesome and feels amazing
I agree. I had some tendonitis building and went with the pinky hole to alleviate the stress on my hand/wrist and it's great.
Funny video. Love the shirts! If the everyday bowlers start wanting to roll the ball with 5 fingers in the ball you might be getting some hate mail from operators. Lol keep up the vlogs guys. Hope to met you both one day
There was a house ball at the bowling alley I used to go to (closed now) that had 4 finger holes.
Best house ball I ever used.
That was great!! Next time, try 4 holes. Your normal fingertip layout with the conventional pinky.
My dad had a Pain Raw Hammer drilled up with 5 holes to make it easier for him to bowl since he had arthritis. I shot a 300 with it two weeks after he got it 🤣
My father had that ball, with 3 holes in it. He shot some pretty good sets with it until it started losing big chunks around the finger holes.
Wow that really cool
There's a bit of Thunder in the Building. That ball is definitely a holy roller.
To alleviate the pressure you should have the extra two fingers drilled at their normal angle, ie.. not 90 degrees and perpendicular, but more angled
Average 220 Bowler did this with some awesome results …. but i think he made the finger holes larger so they came out easier….
Thank you for making bowling so much with your videos love my gem ball , would like to see how the gem would do in super heavy oil ,( the house I use the same old 35 foot house shot
Great challenge 😂😂
I like you guys, you make bowling fun
You guys giving away that ball now?? LOL Great vid!!!!
Hey Brad and Kyle how's your fingers 😆 I like this video is real cool
I have been bowling 🎳 4 fingers over 10 years broke index and middle, pinky wraps around... took a while to get use to it, 190 - 205 avg house and 175 sports.
I am very interested in seeing it with finger tip drilling
I had to do a season 2 handed using my pinky and ring! Actually wasn't too bad!
This video is awesome I have an older gentleman in my league that actually does use all five fingers in his ball dude has a great avg too
I've seen it happen, mainly for bowlers with arthritis or other joint mobility issues.
You guys are hilarious
Years ago in the fox River area of Illinois in the older bowling alleys they had up there you would come across a few bowling ball that had 5 holes in them. Now I am 65 years old and the guys 10 - 20 years older then I am would tell me it was a popular style in the forties
Can't wait for the T-Shirt with a myriad of CLAWS
Do a video on over seas balls! Like the ghost lock
this is what I look like when I roll a good game
I've added my plnky...so far so good
Intresting conceept you bowl with this agianst Packy with a 4 finger ball drilled for him nad his two handed style
Back in the 1970's I knew a guy who used a 5 finger fingertip in the leagues...thanks for the video.
Love to see a 4 finger, finger tip grip comparison!
Finger tip 5 Finger version

The index finger still hurts when used all 4 fingers. Said the revs were virtually the same using the pinky in addition to the regular finger holes. But there was less strain on the hand and will allow for more throwing power. He tended to throw more strikes with Index, Middle, and Pinky.
sooo how about showing up to nationals with that ball???? that would be hilarious!!!
At least Kyle managed to get the 2 pin on that last shot :P
How about a thumb only ball
You guys should autograph that Gem and do a giveaway!!
10 finger bandits....noiceeeew
That signature shirt is 🔥 🔥
But can I get a Brad Miller version?
I may be wrong but maybe cleaner release if drilled as fingertip? Interesting video!
The clock in the back is perfectly lined up an hour in front of me lmaooo
Ayyyy plaza lanes let’s goooooo
Hahahaha!!!!! Just got to the part where Brad "The Bald Eagle" Miller promoted hair loss prevention! 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
I wish you guys were the first ones to do this, but your average 220 bowler did it already, but still truly Enjoy you guys! Keep doing what you are doing.
I throw thumb, ring and pinkie finger. Love to throw that ball
A new meaning to 5 finger death punch
I've actually thought about this before. Not upside down, just drilling 2 extra holes for index and pinky. My PSO talked me out of it, said it would be a lot harder to clear the ball and actually reduce revs instead of increasing it.
That pro shop operator is right!! Good thing you listened to him!!
I have a friend that bowls with the pointer finger drilled. All of his balls are drilled this way !!
I have a finger tipped ball for my middle and ring finger with a pinky hole drilled, I find it more comfortable for me.
I've used fingertip grip for many years. Wonder how the five fingers would work in fingertip. Makes me tempted to get my undrilled ball drilled with the five holes lol.
Cool video talk to tech bowling ball Brad and Kyle
My grandpa had middle, ring, and pinkie drilled in his. He bowled like that for years and years.
That cheetah champion shirt is actually tough as shit lol. I’d never wear anything to do with bowling but I might get that ctfu
I think we need another shirt here. Give us the Ten Finger Bandits ;)
Yo I JUST got my Purple Tank Drilled there😂
You did conventional span. How would the feel and roll change if you measure the holes so that they’re fingertip spans?
This take "put more fingers in the ball" to a new level...
This is the most click-baity title I've seen in a long while hahaha. Love your content guys!!~
how lol
Wish I could do that with a bowling ball
The claw ----- From The King pin movie
I really want to see you re visit this with finger tips. I think it would be way easier to come out of and hurt less. I have arthritis and my bowling fingers bother me sometimes. I have thought about taking one of my old balls I don't use and add 2 finger tips.
A friend of mine had a ball drilled with all the finger holes and loved it. I tried to throw it for a game and couldn't get used to it.
Did it fit? it is hard to bowl with any ball if the span and fit is off.
There’s an old head that used to drill balls at a local alley, and he is now retired and plays in my league. He said he couldn’t throw a bowling ball anymore since he started with a 16lb and bowled that for 40 years or so. He showed me he got all his fingers drilled in, and says he can now throw 10games a day and not feel as much as 3 holes did after 2 games.
when does the silhouette shirt hit the merch store?
I bowl for last 40 years ,my last 2 fingers and my thumb ,you be amaze all the control , when you bowl that way, you will never go back
Waiting to see Brad with a Kyle Troup hairstyle next season
🤣🤣🤣
You should both sign that ball and give it away to a subscriber!
Hand of gold.
Then puns are flying haha Sounds like the ball has a flat tyre lol
