I like how Sam Cassell, a former champion and all star player, a guy who’s been a bench and assistant coach under Doc Rivers in LA, Ime and Joe in Boston and has a track record of mentoring a young core and getting the best out of Star players (ala Chris Paul and Jayson Tatum) gets passed by but J.J. Reddick just gets handed a job with no coaching experience.

Lakers should've kept that young core together that they had in 2018 when Lebron got to Los Angeles. Traded away their future for 1 Micky Mouse Championship in the Bubble in 2020. Lebron hasn't been back to the Finals since leaving the Bubble. Anthony Davis healthy is up and down every season. That Lakers team that had Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr, Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Clarkson might of won allot of games those seasons they were together in L.A. They were going to get better in the upcoming seasons if they staid together. Would still have a young team to compete with the Top 4 Teams in the West. Julius Randle became an All-Star in New York. Brandon Ingram became an All-Star in New Orleans, Larry Nance Jr is a viable bench player for the New Orleans Pelicans that can get you 15 to 20 points a game.
Lakers just got impatient with the process of growing the young talent they had.

Until The Lakers temper their expectations at least some they do not and will not win anything nor deserve it either. With a hire like this they are actually going to have to give him a real shot. I have every doubt they will. Aside from missing the playoffs entirely if I were JJ Redick I would not have accepted the job unless there was a fire safe in place. Who needs all the scrutiny that comes with the Lakers job. He will still make millions without it.
