- Yes, this was a thing, and it really existed. Fun game, too.

When I got to my first unit in the Army, I made a C.O.W.boys of moo Mesa reference and one dude actually got it. Ended up being one of my best friends
That's amazing! The show was fun, and one of those I could see showing my kids instead of cringing at the thought "I liked this?" So many jokes I didn't get until I grew up, too. Genuinely underrated!
💟
That's awesome. I became best friends with a kid in 6th grade, because we were both drawing an All That logo lol
What was the reference?
@@Igarappappa a kid we called smeagol tried to take ninja stars to Afghanistan and I said you need to be an anthropomorphic cow with a special gun to use those.
Never cared for or actively watched the show, but the game is fun and is animated beautifully...does look like the cartoon.
Between the game and the show I definitely think the game is still worth playing the show is fine for what it was but without nostalgia attached to it it's not much these days.

90's Konami were golden
How the mighty have fallen doesn't even begin to describe the current Konami situation. I think it might be they've lived long enough to become the villain.
So true!

The Pizza Hut where i grew up had this, i love this game.
You grew up in a Pizza Hutt?

I still remember walking to the arcade as a kid to play this and TMNT.
the simpsons game and the x-men game
I remember watching you play it👀
Konami is known for Contra, Castlevania, and Turtles, but man they just perfected the multiplayer arcade experience that really has never been replicated beyond maybe Gauntlet.
X-Men, The Simpsons, TMNT...
Is this built over the Sunset Riders engine?
@@GeomancerHT looks like it. Similar to Bucky O Hare game also.
I’m a big fan of the 80s and 90s Konami legacy, but Capcom’s beat em up gameplay from that era feels markedly more polished by comparison
@@nocuh
Both Konami and Capcom were in fine top form during this time.
I think a lot of their games have held up better but Konami still made amazing stuff back then.
Holy hell! SNES Drunk is pulling a long forgotten memory out of the back of mind that I haven’t thought of for 30 years! I totally had forgot this was a thing back in the day.
Love the graphics in this game.
I loved this game in the arcade. The owner accidentally (or purposefully?) set it on free play, and I'd play it whenever I was broke. It was a lot of fun.
People like that are always cool.
I remember sometimes I would be around when the guy would collect the coins out of the machines and he would just put like a thousand credits for me and I'd be like wow good people do exist.
They don’t have moves, they’re called moooves
I don't know if I hate or love you, but there's definitely some kind of emoooootion there
@matt fahringer *white and black
Udderly fantastic comment!

Weirdest Farming Simulator edition yet.
I never expected to hear the phrase, "Mooing in despair".
Or "bovine version of Slimer" 😆
3:55 when he said "cabinet" i could've sworn he uttered CATTLE net. 🤪
I was one of those fans. I was 5-7 years old when it was still on tv, so it was perfect timing :)
I like that your reviews specify what's good and bad about each game, instead of just making general statements about the overall quality. It makes it much more useful in deciding whether or not to search out a game. Please keep making these great videos.
Okay, the eagle flying our literal cowboy finally got me.
Anything that shameless deserves our support.
Great game! I was one of those kids who knew about this random show. Lol. Trying to explain it to your friends was not easy lol
Ikr? Somehow it was easier to accept the idea that turtles became humanoid through mutation and learned martial arts then wrap one's head around anthropomorphic cows who dressed and acted like cowboys.
Merry Christmas SNES Drunk! Thank you for excellent content and videos!
Soundtrack by Michiru Mifune of Castlevania fame.
I remember those old, awesome corny cartoons. Sometime I miss 80´s and 90´s saturday mornings!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas, Snesdrunk! Thanks for all the wonderful videos!
Thanks to SNES drunk im watching Moo Mesa by myself while drinking on Christmas Eve. Thank you.
Excellent kid's show! Watched it when I was young, and it was so fun and corny, and was like one big spoof of classic Westerns like Gunsmoke. The game looks well done and fun, which is a pleasant surprise for something based on a children's TV show.
Yeah, I used to dig it too. I don't think it ever got syndicated though, so there seems to be a really small window of ages of people who remember it, who either weren't too young to remember or weren't too old for those kinds of shows.
I wish they'd port this officially to some system.
It makes me wonder how tied up this is it's probably mostly got to do with Konami. I mean I'm still waiting for X-Men, The Simpsons and TMNT to get back onto PSN/XBLA. I still can't believe that now that Disney owns X-Men and Simpsons that has not been resolved yet.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu I wonder if Konami fears that the Moo Mesa game won't sell because few people know the show or the game. I say if they advertise it as "the closest thing you'll get to a Sunset Riders sequel" it'll sell.
.... I never knew that there was a spiritual follow-up to Sunset Riders. :O
(Pst, play Mystic Warriors.)
Just the kind of decent review I would expect right before Christmas, Drunk. Godspeed my friend, may 2021 see more fantastic reviews.
Merry Christmas dude im looking forward to another year of Snes Drunk.
Thanks for a great video and happy holidays from Sweden.
Man I this game looks so fun.
A fun video of a game I've never heard of! Based on a show that I heard of growing up but never saw. From one of my all-time favorite youtubers!
And he said "any way you can!" Which always makes my day for some reason.
It's going to be a good day!
I hope YOU have a great rest of your day. And have a great Christmas Eve! And a Merry Christmas! Or a Happy Whichever Holiday you celebrate.
I loved that show when I was a kid
Hahaha I remember this show. Great review. Hope you have yourself an awesome Christmas dude! Keep up the great work as always!
i guess you could say this youtube series feally mooooooves me.
Merry Christmas Snes dude! Take the holidays off, we can wait!
Wow brought back memories of playing this cabinet with my dad when I was very young, about 5-6. Super cool, thanks!
I loved this show as a kid. Always wished I could play the video game. Thanks for reviewing. Merry Christmas.
Never saw this in Mexico, and we had our fare share of arcades here.
NO MOO FOR YOU
Never heard of this, I'll have to check this out!
I hope you have a great day too! And have a very Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, SNESdrunk!
You were expecting maybe Turtles?
omg a Biker Mice from Mars reference. One of my favourite lines from the first episode where the Mice rescue Charley: "you were expecting Turtles, maybe?" LOVE THAT SHOW. Yes, 100% a Turtles clone but so much fun.
Is that what it's a reference to? I thought it was supposed to be a reference to the third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, or maybe even the Angry Video Game nerds review of Fester's Quest.
@@baalfgames5318 It's also a reference to TMNT like you mentioned - replace "Turtles" with "Addams Family." It was also used in Biker Mice From Mars - hard to tell which was the first because they were both in production at roughly the same time.
this game made me wish we had a BRAVESTAR snes game, on old cartoon that is very underrated from my childhood, i remember begging the parents for the huge toy base but i never got it...
The videogame industry can be very unfair.
My brother was absolutely obsessed with this show when he was around 3-4. That's the same period where we first got into SNES. If he knew there was an arcade game he would have gone crazy. I've got to tell him about this!
Sad that the arcades like these were never brought home, now that arcades barely exist anymore.
@Wesley Kainexiled
Exactly. I mean outside of Japan most arcades are dead these days.
And even Japan is having trouble I mean just look at what Sega recently did.
Hi Alex, I had been waiting during the pandemic to check out my local arcade bar, and finally got out this weekend, and they had this game. First time I ever saw it in the wild. It was pretty fun!
Oh man, I remember playing this at the Circus Circus arcade in Las Vegas (the Midway as it was called) when I was a kid. Back when it was a real arcade and wasn't a ticket game gambling hall for kids. This game was such a blast. No hookers giving you a thank you quickie in this game. Got to love Sunset Riders, lol. I'd love to see this get released on current gen consoles.
Merry Christmas Drunk!
Have a good day Snesdrunk and Merry Christmas ⛄.
Man, i forgot all about this show but as soon as i saw the thumbnail i immediately remembered this being a thing.
DUDE! You had it! and you blew it! at 2:19 you missed the opportunity to make the cow pund : "you get as set of mooooo-ve!"
Love your videos : keep them comin ;p
We need a Cowboys of Moo Mesa swimming up a waterfall meme 🤔
Ya know what I waited to see this in the video, I can say...nah I don’t think we need that.
So much hate over suggesting a meme.wtf lol
Really don’t need that. But ok. Thanks for playing.

The games that you dig up are always unique
That game looks incredibly fun! It also has some BEAUTIFUL color to it which makes me sad I haven’t heard of it until now. Happy holidays btw to you and anyone who sees this.
Oh man! I remember this! Loved playing this as a kid.
Wow, never heard of this one - the cartoon or the game. Looks fun. Merry Christmas, Drunk!
My local arcade had this for several years I was about 10 when it first came out and even in my 20s it was still there! If I had some coins and time to spare I would jam this game, and after playing it so many times I learned all of the bosses’ patterns and able to complete it without losing a life. Also, when you complete the game you would go back to stage one with all your lives and score intact, and I remember being so bored one day I did 4 playthroughs via this feature xD. Good times.....
This is a criminally underrated gem of an arcade game. Thanks to MAME it can still be enjoyed, I doubt that Konami cares about any of the great games they published in the old days, shame. Many talented people poured their blood, sweat and tears into creating these games just so that they could be cast into oblivion, never to be enjoyed again, simply because some greedy conglomerate can no longer squeeze a dime out of someone for playing them. Imagine if the same thing was done to the Mona Lisa or Michael Angelo's David. There is no difference IMO, just because video games are products made with electrical technology, does not mean that they are not works of art.
So much nostalgia! I loved being a kid in the 90s.
Great point about the sound environment of the arcade being very different from the home environment. 🎧
Merry christmas Snes Drunk
XMASNES Drunk! Happy holidays. Have a good rest of your xmas eve, Drunk
I'm old enough to remember this show on TV when I was a kid. I never knew it had a video game adaption in arcades though
I loved this game as a kid. A local YMCA had it in there lounge area with a couple other pinball/arcade cabinets.
I loved this show/game so much! I wrought an essay on it in 5 grade.
Yessss
I remember they had like juice box type drinks branded with this show
I remember seeing this in the arcades around Staten Island and New Jersey, and I have seen the show when it aired on ABC.
This brings a lot of memories i had the change to played on original arcade, how forget that hell waterfall, makes me lose all my tokens xd but still pretty good times, thank you for making this video c:
I remember playing this game at the arcade, there’s a trick that if you hit the jump and attack buttons rapidly on the title screen. You can play the game for free.
I actually DO remember this show. I was super little at the time, but I remember enjoying it.
This game looks like an absolute blast! Whenever I get the MAME bug, definitely giving this one a run through
I hope you have a great rest of your holiday
merry xmas drunk! also its going to be the year of the cow in Asia too!!
merry christmas drunkie boy! i remember this cartoon. It was ok. I've had a Sheriff Montana toy also.
Thanks for the great content!
26 years ago, I was on holiday in Butlins Somerset. Complety forgot about it.
Holy crap I remember the cartoon, it was ok and kinda goofy but I didn't care much about it at the time. On the other hand, this looks a lot of fun! Never heard about the arcade previously and it's a shame it didn't get any console port. I love the cartoonish feel and the concept of a more forgiving Sunset Riders with some extra moves. Maybe if I played this I would pay more attention to the source material back then
Happy holidays to you and yours, Alex! Greetings from Brazil!
One of my favorite arcade games ever.
You unlocked a part of my childhood I forgot existed
This game looks like it’s so much fun, arcade games were always so much cooler than consoles (golden axe 2, Alien vs predator etc)
Moory Christmas and happy moo year!
I always forget about this game... and the show! I was also completely unaware of those facts about Dak! That's awesome!
This game always looked like a ton of fun, with great graphics.
Remember playing this at our local bowling alley! Wish they made this in cart form. The cartoons & figures were cool!
I never got to play it. All I know is the cabinet made an appearance in the 'North' movie, with Elijah Wood, which was the only way I knew of it's existence. Damn I miss growing up in the 90's lol!
I love it when he says "this is a game you've got to play any way you can" lol
I like the crouch shooting animation for the pistol cow. Never seen this before it looks rad
It’s a damn good time. Great review.
I remember how GOOD this game looked in an arcade. In a big-ass screen, with the pixels blurred by the CRT monitor... It really did look like the cartoon!
There is a ninja themed Sunset Riders, called Mystic Warriors. It too is awesome.
Have great memories playing this one at the arcade with my Dad. Was a total quarter-muncher but still one of my favorites at the time.
This game reminds me of metal slug meets turtles in time. Awesome video!
Would buy this game for the switch if they had it available.
This looks amazing. How was I not aware this existed?
Playstation Store, I'm looking at you...
My favorite game at Circus Pizza in New Hope, MN circa too damn long ago. Can still play it at Galloping Ghost Arcade in Chicago!
I loved this game in the arcades back in the day!
My brother loved the cartoon so when we found this cabinet to play it was a must
Haha I've never heard of this show or game, but I definitely want to check out both now!
Moove over, partner!
I remember watching the show on Saturday mornings, never knew there was an arcade game.
Don’t care what anyone says! Had a blast with this game as a kid!
Man I can't remember the show itself, but I had a bunch of the action figures. My favorite was the red bull with a mohawk and tomahawk. They were dope, some of my favorites. Alongside Biker Mice From Mars, Street Sharks, and of course TMNT. Favorite TMNT figure has to be the Leonardo football player.
This game looks pretty fun! Don't think I ever saw it in the arcades back in the day.
Nice one, thanks!
