I think we have seen this before, Disney has tried for a long time to make a splash in the video game industry. The thing we don’t realize is that Fortnite is already has an established fandom so I would not be surprised if it ends up like that Sims 4 Star Wars expansion…Yeah remember that…Additionally Fortinite already has other companies’ ips it became a place to advertise new IP basically, so audience could already be overwhelmed… Again seams more of something to advertise to investors not gamers😊
I mean disney have created 2 well known succesful games in its past (dreamlight valley, Disney magic kingdoms) along with its kingdom hearts games, epic mickey (which is getting a remake) they have been succesful more or6 less when they've cared.
Maybe this will help sora and the gang actually have characters or a kingdom hearts event in battle royale for once. I’ve been waiting far too long for that. I’d even be happy with a final fantasy event and shop items. Instead FF went to apex which is barely any content for $100’s.
I know that this plan will collapse and crumble, but Ill still play it, cuz the IPs that Disney holds are some of my favorites, so i guess ill go down with this sinking ship, that hasnt even set sail yet 😅😅😅
It’s good to have investments in different sectors. Also, 1.5 billion wouldn’t be enough for a new park, Shanghai Disneyland, for example, was built for around $5.5 billion

From a major parks fan POV I must agree with you, but from a Disney fan this will be able to reach people that can’t travel to a Disney Park and even offer new experiences (even if digital) to those who can!
And Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and Millennials are spending more time online because they are either being priced out or kicked out of physical spaces. Locals in Southern California got annoyed with the new Disneyland pass structure after the park reopened from the pandemic and some malls and more regional parks now have chaperone policies in place. With no where outside to hang out and technology where its at, why not play an MMO or other online game on an evening?
