    This land could be great, but they need animals! Imagine the missed opportunity if they don’t include capibaras!

    Coco isn't in based in the "Tropical Americas". Santa Cecilia is in the desert near Mexico City. They've done tons of research on the area, so they wouldn't have called it "Tropical Americas" if they were including Coco, when they could have easily just named it "Latin America". They also have concept art with a large Coco attraction, so why would they dump that and just do a Coco spinner instead?
    Meanwhile, Up WAS set in the Tropical Americas. They could just as easily theme the spinner to Kevin, or even the dogs. What they're really want, though, is an Up meet n greet. Russell and Dug are super popular and Disney is far more interested in building character interaction spaces than in real attractions.
    As for Encanto, they aren't going to have the most popular Disney album of all time ignored for some animal-based story. They are going to have "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Dos Origuitas" and "Surface Pressure" in this attraction. They can easily just put Antonio's animals out in the garden or even in the rooms of the Casita, though I'd imagine they'd rather feature the Casita's magic in the queue.

      Why not just "Americas"?

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      That’s some very good insight… what if they changed the name to Latin America? The other lands aren’t particularly very specific… Asia goes from the Middle East to Japan, Africa from the Sahara desert to the snowy top of Kilimanjaro. Tropical Americas a is a lot more specific than either of those, however calling the land Americas doesn’t seat right with me…

    Such an exciting video! Animal Kingdom is already top-tier, with its beautifully-themed lands, and unforgettable attractions, and this will just strengthen its line-up and offerings. Can't wait 😄

      I agree, Animal Kingdom is such an amazingly designed theme park, everything feels intentional while also being completely natural. It’s a truly unique park and this will hopefully help it become even better!

    I’d love for Disney to add animals to the area, imagine a Capybara themed enclosure on the outskirts of the Casita. But I have this itch in the back of my head telling me their gonna back off and take the safe route.

    I don't know if abandoning the dinosaur theme is the right call. Dinosaurs will always be somewhat popular with young boys. Universal has jurassic park and Disney removes its own dinosaur theme. Well its seems that pixar really messed up with the good dinosaur.
    For the replacement we get Encanto and Indiana Jones and maybe Coco.
    Encanto needs to be a good ride that can stand on its own. The movie did underperform on the theaters. It may be popular on streaming, but the ip may be old news when the ride opens.
    Indiana Jones? I am skeptical. Indiana Jones is a triology from the 80s. The fourth and fifth movie were not recieved well. Also the younger generation seems to be disinterested in this Ip. Under this circumstances investing in Indiana Jones seems to be a bold strategy.
    Coco gets only a small ride. Coco was actually successful at the box office and was mostly well recieved. Giving it only a small attraction is a disservice.
    I think replacing the weakest part of animal kingdom is in general a good idea. I am not sure if Encanto and Indiana Jones are the right replacements.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  Před 3 měsíci

      I completely agree with you when you say they shouldn't abandon Dinosaurs. The area has been pretty much abandoned by Disney and even when it was built, DinoRama was the cheapest part of the park and that was very noticeable. I believe Disney has accepted that they "lost" the battle for Dinos with Universal, the Mouse just doesn't have a strong enough of an IP to use that theme and Jurassic Park will always take the W.
      Regarding the replacements, while they could probably come up with something more fitting, I don't think this is at all bad and will bring much needed new life to that side of AK!

    Great Video ‘The Main Street News’. I want to ride the Encanto ride now. It will be amazing I’m sure, it’s such a great movie. I would definitely want it to be similar to the Mystic Manor ride system in HKDL. Let’s hope 🤞

    I don't know about that, I feel like they're disrespecting Mr. Rohde's wishes with the concept of the park which is our love of animals real, ancient and imagined. And now that he's retired, they're taking advantage. Not to mention those McDonald's toys for the park's grand opening that inludes a triceratops and an iguanodon and collectible cups that feature both the ride with it's original name Countdown to Extinction and the iguanodon in the short lived Discovery River Boats alongside the dragon, who could say no to that?

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Joe Rhode has been in touch with Imagineering as of late, some believe he has been consulted or helping with future projects. If done well, I don’t think this land would disrespect the original idea of Animal Kingdom, especially with Tropical Americas being a truly logical area of the world to be added in the park!

      @@themainstreetnews If you ask me, just expand the land like in the concept art from the Eisner era with just animals native to South America while give Dinoland a chance like Gloveworld R.I.P and SpongeBob's Last Stand.

      @@themainstreetnews Yeah. I want some representation of prehistoric animals including dinosaurs as well as mythical creatures such as dragons and unicorns.

    • @AppleGaming4Real
      @AppleGaming4Real Před 2 měsíci

      They can very very easily place imagined animals in a Indiana Jones like attraction. I can imagine a storyline where Indy takes an artifact and accidentally unleashes one of many South American mythological creatures. Encanto is a fun for the kids and MUCH needed dark ride for Animal Kingdom that also fits the animal perspective. While dinos might be gone, I think it's mostly because Disney is trying to focus on IP and they aren't going to get a better dino IP than their competitor for better or worse. If they want to, they could always include a dinosaur portion of Indy. Maybe an artifact that revives the dead (in this case a few fossils)? Then everything would be represented technically in Animal Kingdom

  • @Taydar

    My question is how they get the animals to the overnight pend on the other side of the park.

  • @thomasforsthuber4370
    @thomasforsthuber4370 Před 3 měsíci +1

    I would say, that they reuse 2 rides and just build 1 new. Indiana Jones will be a retrofit from Dinosours. The spinner ride I would say they retrofit the TriceraTop Spin to an alebrije ride with Dante. This would fit perfectly and gives the sub-land of Coco a colourful kintetic energy. And Encanto will be a new one. Maybe trackless like Mysthic Manor oder Pirates in Shanghai. For the animatroics I think it will be a similar production as in Tiana. A1000s and with a mix of lower animatronics for the animals.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I agree, let the bigger part of the budget go towards a new, high capacity E Ticket with Encanto and build something new and great with the bones of the already existing land.

    Great idea but Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Holy Cross should’ve been in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, moving the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to Liberty Square which would become New Orleans Square, and Encanto ride to Epcot! Here is how I can fix Dino land! Primeval Whirl should be a wooden excavator roller coaster, Dinosaur should’ve been an indoor time travel roller coaster, and the Triceratops spin should’ve been a dinosaur themed carousel!

    Love the Indy ride in Cali, the new version in AK fits in nicely, I just hope they go with the original, original concept from years ago and include snake and insect exhibits near the ride. "Snakes, why'd it have to be snakes!"

    I’m not happy with this because even if Disney want to bring in dinosaurs then later they would want the dinosaur to stay died. If you are hearing this and being a dino land USA fan then here are the following: make sure too protest on Disney saying bring back Dino land USA, also if they do it then tell Disney to build a replica of the land so we can be happy finally I give the South American area a 0/10. That is all
