How to connect router to router with LAN cable

- In this video, I will show you how to connect router to router. This is my first router. This is my second router. Now I will connect these two routers via an internet cable. A factory reset must be performed before connecting the second router. Reset the second router by holding down the reset button. Now connect the internet cable to the LAN port of the first router. And connect another part of the cable to the wan port of the second router. Now go to laptop to set up internet. Two networks are available on the laptop. This network for MI router. And another network for Netis Router.
Now connect your laptop to the network of the second router. My second router is called Netis Router. Netis router's default password is “password”

You have both routers using DHCP ! and what happens if routers use wifi auto channel selection and both end up on the same channel ?

what is the speed loss in this way? for wireless there will be some but if i use ethernet from 2nd router to pc how much speed will i lose
I am in the UK,
My routers have WAN port and 4 LAN ports. I can't connect the 2 routers WAN to WAN as I only have RJ45 cables which plug into the LAN ports

You can go hundreds of meters with minimum drop off, I just wired my house with several 100ft+ Cat5e.

What if my first and 2nd router don't have a Wan port??? How do I connect them together? First router have Internet but when I connect them together ny second router don't have internet access..but I am connecting them from Lan port to lan port

you can set static IPs on devices conneting to 2nd router

My dhcp server i enable already on my main router there's an option there to enable second dhcp do o need to enable 2nd dhcp server

your 1st router is connected to your internet provider and maybe establesh connection with PPPoE (dialing with user name and password) etc. but the 2nd router connects to 1st router with DHCP and you not need to setup password and user name. But you should configure the 2nd router wifi if you need wifi connection from 2nd router. You should set the 2 routers for different wifi network name and your device will switch from one to another if you more between the two routers.

I have an router of 2.4 ghz and it doesn't support 5ghz. Its Wan port is not ethernet port. If I brought a 5ghz router and connect it to old roter(lan to wan) with ethernet cable .Will I get 5.ghz speed
5gb is basically within the router, not the cable. So by doing what you said, it should gibe a 5gb signal

So I did all of this but still internet cut. I have main router aka R1 connected thru cat6 to router 2 aka R2. My PC is connected to R2 and in order for it to provide internet I have to reset R1 every 30minutes and it keep saying Pasword incorrect on R1. Does anyone know what is happening?

Hi, i did the same setup, the wifi on the second router gets cut more than half. 200mbps on the 1st router and just 60 to 70mbps on the 2nd router (Xiaomi mywifi 4A), i also bought Xiaomi mywifi 4c but its still the same. Can you think of any reason why it cuts? thanks.

@@mfahadb001 i have solved mine a few months back. The xiaomi routers are to blame, they are false advertised as gigabit versions but they are not. I was told to update the firmware to Gigabit version, but that was too technical for me. I just bought a new TRUE Gigabit router, an AC6 Tenda. Now my speed is true 200mbps. I hope yours work out.
@@jyeltagbomusic Actually I've Huawei HG8247H router as main on Ground floor, signals are weak on 1st floor specially for gaming. I've decided to add secondary router (TP Link WR840N) connected via LAN. Will it work that way. All LAN ports of 2nd router will work as well? Will be any speed loss?

@@mfahadb001 I don't see any problem bro, your TP Link WR840N is 300mbps Max so it will easily do 50Mbps. Im pretty sure you wil have no speed loss. Just make sure you use CAT5e (or better) LAN cables and just don't exceed 100meters of LAN cable length so you wont have speed loss. All the best!
PS. yes, all your LAN on the 2nd router will work.

Network speed not gonna be slow down.if you connect two routers

সেকেণ্ড রাউটার এ যেমন নর্মাল wireless সেকশন এ পাসওয়ার্ড সেট করে ওই ভাবেই। শুধু আইপি টা DHCP করে রাখবেন

Got totally confused between names as to which was the 1st router and what was the second one called. Nice effort, but seems you were teaching yourself rather than the audience who didn't know which router was called what. Just say "1st isp router" and "2nd home router".
