I will be showing my BMW 2002 windshield breaking... NOT COOL! As well as my next project car, a 1936 Ford 3 Window coupe.
Between kids and being sick its been a bit of a mess haha!

Don’t feel bad my windscreen cracked as well. It is really upsetting. Bloody hard to find a new one as well😭
Like I said earlier in one of my posts, my late uncle has 2 Agave 71-73 roundies, not sure exact years, sitting on blocks, and the sun is beating on them, there’s some rust spots on the paint, but I know that they were driveable before at some point, I just need to figure out a place to store them temporarily until I retire and have time to get them running again 🤞

@20:51 Remarkable, it must have been replaced earlier. Originally there only was hardened glass, not layered glass like this one.👴😉🤔
If that's a US car it came with laminated glass since that's been a legal requirement in the US since 1937.
I highly recommend putting any kind of glass

what's funny is a few years ago i was watching your partners channel despite the fact that i'm a b-sedan guy. in my search for what limited 2002 content there is on youtube, you showed up. a few videos in i realized you where on the "set" for RAC garage. pretty neat! FWIW, bmw e21 sport seats bolt right into a 2002 and they are great seats, manual pedal boxes are getting expensive, you can modify the auto one with the skillset available to you. if you want your heater box to work, make that happen with the windshield out of the car or you will regret it. the dashboard can only be removed with the windshield out of the car and the headliner goes in prior to the front and rear windows as well, just sayin'...
In any kind of automobile using direct sunlight it will heat the rubber up make it softer clean the surfaces don't need oil don't need rope starting one corner and work yourself all the way around

windshields are findable, even new ones.
I got my replacement windshield from rockauto. The brand is Fuyao. I know Pilkington also makes a replacement. If might be a blessing in disguise. Old windshields are usually pretty pitted.

Still have the emotional trauma from changing the starter on one of those things... used to bomb around in a '74 (or '73) during the mid-90's until I couldn't afford the "BMW tax" to get it up and running after I blew up the engine. Was a California car so was in fairly good condition for a 20-something year old beater.

There was a 2002 at a small used car dealer near me , it didn't look bad , I was gonna' buy it but I really didn't need another stalled project . I'm sure you'll make it nice .

If you ever have to be a scooter tire like a Vespa you will definitely need sunlight trust me I learned the hard way
