"Anytime you don't get decapitated is a good day!!!" He cracks me up!!
Glad to see you still working, Jay! Can't wait to hear that Ariel's engine!!
Ha, I was laughing at that as well. Another great video Jay...keep 'em coming!!
If I could have anything in that garage, it would be Jay Leno’s work ethic. He kept doing his weekend sets after getting half his face burned off, then got thrown off his bike couple months ago and he’s already back in the garage (with a still fractured collar bone) making videos for us. I wish you all the best Jay and can’t even put in words how incredibly much I admire you!
Jay, I wrote you a letter when I was a child. It was when your mother passed away. You wrote me back and I’ll never forget it.
You’re a good man J and I’m glad to see that you’re doing OK. God bless!
I met Mr. Leno at a car show when I was 17 (1994). I had just begun building my first Mustang. He talked with me for probably 20 minutes, he gave me some wisdom concerning my rebuild (basically talked me out of doing what a lot 17 year olds would do😂). 3 years later I was in a car show in Rhode Island with the finished car. Mr. Leno was there and he remembered talking with me previously and congratulated me on the build. Even made some comments about my previous plans. I was blown away that he remembered the car. He is a real person, nothing fake about him. Just genuine.
I love how Jay is so lighthearted about everything. Glad to see him back in action!
"Anytime you don't get decapitated, boy, that's good luck." 😅
Good to see Jay back in action after the accident
I agree!
Nothing will get between that chin and his cars lol
Which one?
@@ChuckThree plural was in order there
Jay unintentionally lives life on the edge. Except for the Hemi Under Glass semi intentional adventure.
Great to see Jay healthy and joking about and giving us a restoration tour of his shop!!
You are a national treasure Jay.
Man a year is a big difference seeing all jays new videos is making me realize our legend is getting a little older 😢😢
If I had only one true car guy that I could meet it would be Jay. Never stop.
My absolute favourite comment and so true. Bucket list person for sure.
Yeah that's very true and hes much more of a car guy than he ever was a Hollywood personality in my opinion
Definitely a Man I'd love to sit and have a cold one with.. ❤
😂

11:50 "The nice thing about hand-made stuff is that hands haven't changed." That, friends, is a great little nugget of Jay Leno wisdom!
and the people still interested in working and learning with those hands, like the ones he featured in todays video!
Most car guys tend to think that the craft is dying and that nobody will ever be able to hand build components ever again. This is bullocks, there will always be passionate people able to learn it. It is the machine built components that we have to worry about, once the machine no longer exists it may become very hard indeed to reproduce the part.
"And like an idiot, I'm going to fix it and get back on it."
That's the way! Keep on doing the things you love Jay, for your enjoyment (and ours through these videos).
Mr. Leno, what a delight to see that 1) you are well, and that 2) you are back to your videos on your internal combustion alchemy!
“Had I been an older man, this could have been a serious accident. “ 😅 Thank goodness you’re relatively okay, Jay! Better luck in the future, and good luck with your projects.
SALUTE.
Unreal. 72 years old and still smashing life. Gem of a dude 🇺🇲🦅
Easy to do when you're loaded...when you aren't, life tends to smash you...
When life smashes you , smash back !!!!
He's loaded because of his attitude towards life.
It's easy to forget how old he is. I know I will be truly hurt when he passes. I've been watching him my entire life. My step-dad and him watched him instead of Letterman just because he was a car guy. If I could take a trip anywhere in the world it would be to his garage. I think I would need a whole week to be truly satisfied .
@@lovetricia I was fortunate enough to visit his garage in 2018 - I even got to see him! I highly recommend a trip there.
I have my Dad's 1967 Cadillac deVille convertible since I was 12 years old. He owned an auto body shop and always had a Cadillac. He was going to junk it when he bought a 1972 Fleetwood Brougham. I told him that I wanted it and I am now 58 years old. The car has over 200,000 miles on it and cosmetically is a beauty. I had the original 429 engine rebuilt last year for a small fortune of $11,000 bucks. The rear main seal is leaking so much that I can't really drive the car . It needs a quart of oil every 100 miles or so. It's just a damned shame that this car is undriveable due to a $30 piece of rubber ! I have contacted a Cadillac restoration shop that I hope will be able to solve my problem. If not, I will have to source another 429 engine and start from scratch again. Glad to see Jay back at work and keeping these old cars running.
Leno makes us all feel like we can be kids forever
You can tell that both accidents have taken their toll on Jay, but I'm just glad he's recovering so well and right back at it!
Was going to say the same thing. Those accidents would affect anyone, let alone someone Jay's age. He seems pretty flat. Hope he's back to his usual energetic self soon.
Looked the opposite to me, just laughed it off.
Well, Chris, Jay may be feeling his meds in this video. Not that there is nothing wrong with that, it's just what I see. So, not knocking our friend. Jay gotta use up the 'script then get back to being free.
What was the second accident?
Never mind, I watched the video, and he told the story of the accident.
You go Jay I'm 79 when crazy youth returns. Undaunted you just keep doing what you love...sail on.
Jay, you have the greatest sense of humour ever, I am very happy that you weren't hurt worse than you were. Nyself, I was hit riding my GSX-R1000R ride on the street in front of the emergency ward at the Jubilee hospital here in Victoria. Mear blocks from home. Anyway, broken collar bones are no fun!!! As you say though, men and over 40, we don't learn any new tricks do we. 😀 May you be well, and thank you so much for sharing your FANTASTIC automobile collection with all of us. There are no better collections in my mind, I especially love the 7.0 litre 1966 Ford, the one you got your Father to buy back when---year before I roamed the planet. Just a great car, as are all the others. Best to you ALL!!!
Mr. Leno is as close to a national treasure as you can get.
You could have a restoration blog channel and let Bernard run it and do weekly updates. I'd watch that!
The guy already has a ton of work to do.
He's busy enough guy
This guy is built tougher than his cars. You my friend are a legend.Thankyou.
I love how he goes from a Dusey to an Ariel Atom to a '57 Beetle. I also love how Jay's not letting anything slow him down! 👍👍
With 450+ hp, that Atom is going to be a *beast*. Yikes.
It's good to know that Jay doesn't hold a grudge against the White Steam Engine that blew up in his face, and he is restoring it. Again. Way to go Mr. Leno.
I could watch this all day. Jay just showing us around the shop.
Jay, It is very kind of you to show us the projects you have going on and to see your car collection. Please be careful driving motorcycles. You had enough accidents this year.
I knew nothing about Jay on the Tonight Show, never into tv but after a lifetime in the family automotive business i saw him in his garage and was hooked. Then i found out how great a man he is by his relationship with his wife. Its so heart warming to see a man give his wife such respect and credit. The world needs men like Jay, a real human being in a world of fakes. Much love Jay, you have shown others the right way ! 😊
Well said my friend , Jay is 1 in a million for sure.
Leadership by example is the best kind.
Same, I only know him through the garage, wonderful man.
Didn't really like him on the tonight show. But I love this show.
Jay is always a humble man who loves his collection but also appreciates his staff and their skills keep it going
It's so great to see Jay rebounding from two major accidents. Slightly less than 12 years from now, when I reach my 70th birthday, I hope that I have, even half the drive and energy that Jay has today.
@@bigv1682 Ain't that the truth??
This is exactly why I tell my friends that it's important that they have hobbies for which they have passion; something that gives you a reason to wake up every day.
@@stratolestele7611 Farting? You Typed "passion." I thought it say "gassion." I am sorry. Being sorry makes me Fart.
I hope you have half the Advertisements and twice the Farts.
I respect anyone that keeps an old vehicle original. To many people are building old cars into their own bucket of bolts.
Jay Leno's garage and collection is every man's ultimate dream toy box.
When one of the craziest cars ever built and driven (Chrysler Turbine) sits in the background under a dust cover and is never mentioned, you realize how broad and deep Jay's collection is.
I liked the Volvo wagon in the background, he doesn't discriminate.
Yes I saw that too
8:50
He has a video on it. One of the few that still runs.
I thought for a second may be Paul Newman's Volvo, he had a special one built. It's got a turbo V6 out of a Grand National. I just looked Newman's car is black, but it is still around.
I enjoy the restoration blogs because I love seeing all of Jay's projects. Some of my older favorites are with Jimmy too, because he's such a funny character and a true craftsman. And great to see you're still in good spirits Jay! Heal up soon and try to take good care of yourself. We all cherish your knowledge of automobiles and want you to be around for as long as possible!
I love these restoration blogs. Love them love them.
Nice to see Jimmy working with good people. He has great skills.
Jay is a national treasure.
International
Fabulous that Jay employs experts to complete the restorations. It would be awesome working for Jay in any capacity.
I would sweep his entire building out gratis! Once finished start again.
We're so happy you're still being a positive influence on the world
I like seeing and meeting the mechanics who keep Jay's cars running.
Can you imagine being lucky enough to work in Jay Leno's shop? Wow!
I bet he treats his employees like family. What a class act he is.
Guys like Jimmy, one of his chief mechanics, are a treasure.
Jay single-handedly keeping the denim industry alive
Would love to see a joint venture with Origin.. American-made jeans for an American icon!
@@kennethjorgensen6624 some how I don't thing Jay spends his cash on designer jean's?
So glad you are recovering.
I miss your show and enjoy these videos.
When that Cadillac was new I used to go and sit in the new Chevys at the Chevy dealer on the Boulevard of the Allies in Oakland, Pa. around the corner from our apartment & then go and have lunch at the S & B Deli next door & have a cheeseburger, fries and a Vernon's Ginger Ale.
Both gone now but the dealership is so big with huge ramps for the cars that the city of Pittsburgh doesn't know HOW to repurpose the building.
The Chevy dealer had dealerships all over the East Coast.
Vernon's Ginger Ale is still around.
I was 5 when that Caddy was new.
I'm going to be 71 next month.
Nice to see someone with lots of money to restore these fantastic machines.
I stopped halfway through the video to make my comment. Jay, you are a hero to many of us. We are so appreciative that you make your videos available to us so we can see the vehicles and your efforts in getting them on the road. Like Sam Tilson said in his comment, nothing but love and respect. Mend well and stay safe.
I stopped riding at 70 following a near fatal car wreck. 53 years was enuff, lol. I'm very glad you were not hurt worse! I LOVE your restoration blogs, Mr Leno.
I stopped a number of years ago, just too many idiots on the road.
God bless you Mr Leno, you have entertained the masses for a half of a century, and for being 72 you are in damn good shape. Stay safe we need more good Americans now more then ever 🇺🇲🙏
My whole life I've been drenched in automotive culture the majority of my family has worked for general motors I consider that bage of honor my father retired from general motors after 43 years all my aunts both of my grandparents work for general motors and I kind of take it upon myself to make sure that the knowledge of the history is passed forward. When I see episodes like this it makes me happy to see somebody out there promoting the history the technology the ingenuity of the past. Thank you give validation to my family history
Thank you
Sir, I sure hope you live a long and healthy life. I live vicariously through you.
Your show brings me comfort. I've had many muscle cars and vintage Harleys throughout my life. I'm down to one shovelhead. But through you I have all of your vehicles. And I thank you. Keep on truckin! Te Amo!
Good to see you back in the saddle Jay. You're one in a million and a National Treasure!
Global Treasure* lol everybody lives Jay!
May I say International treasure! From a very grateful fan in England. I’ll never suffer from depression as long as I can keep watching and listening to you.
Jay, thank you for saving all of theses genuine pieces of history and get well soon!
We are all pulling, praying for good health Mr. Leno
Thank you for being a great curator for the history of vehicles.. without people like J this history would be lost..
Love the way George looks at Jay and says, “If the driver opens up the throttle too quick”🤣🤣🤣
if jay had any other personality than the one he has, i feel he would have given all of this up. the love he has for what he does is quite obvious, especially these days. thank you jay for continuing to be so inspirational for so many of us that love the heck out of machinery.
I'm 40 years old. I saw the last of Carson, but grew up on Jay. His respect and self owned responsibility about these treasures is very much respectable.
Awesome to see a celebrity that puts their money to good use. Saving auto history
The spectrum of vehicles jay enjoys from the steam engine stuff, dusenberg cars, to the performance oriented ariel atom, plus all the bikes he owns. It's inspiring to see you defy age and remain young at heart.
Thanks for sharing and letting us know you’re doing well, Jay, as a fellow 72 year old, I’m inspired by you to keep the dream alive ✌🏻
As a 71 year old myself love you man keep fighting!
A couple years ago I fell off a dirt bike in the sand and was slow to get up and I'm only 50.
You sir, are a badass.
I love these restoration blogs so much. I hope you're healing up well...we need you healthy, Jay.
When I saw him leaning a lot and moving slow I was worried that his recent accidents had dome some permanent damage.
Turns out he's still got BROKEN COLLAR BONE and still got up to show us around his shop. Jay is a legend.
So glad you’re “rebuildable”… Thanks Jay!
Any other guy I might think he was bragging, but I don't get that from Jay. He loves his passion and wants the world to love it too. And so educational.
Jay may wonder why we love him so much. Jay, you've been giving us so much for so many years. These later years of automotive and motorcycle coverage has been my favorite.
Jay without the money and fame would be nine to five Jay with a driveway full of cars and the same quick wit and a smile when you stopped by to hang out.
Jay never ceases to amaze me! He gets hurt , brushes it off as if it was a stubbed toe. Jay bounces back better than ever. He gets hurt again due to someone else doing dumb stuff. He is just a GOD in the the gear head world! Jay you are a real mentor!!! Love these up and close vids you guys put out. Fantastic vids.
Right back on the horse in his 70’s. That’s a man
Jay is astounding when it comes to his knowledge and his love for all things mechanical! Especially automobiles.
I love your humor on the bike crash Jay. I have had three of them in my lifetime, broken a total of 13 bones. I am pinned and screwed together, and I am close to your age but I'm still dumb enough to keep riding, LOL.
Nothing dumb about passion!
Enjoy it while you can, life is too short to wither away on the couch trying to prolong it by avoiding all the fun it has to offer! 👍
Wishing you a speedy recovery Jay. Your passion and humility are appreciated. So many car collections remain behind locked doors, never to be seen by the public. It's refreshing to watch someone who is passionate about sharing the stories behind not only their own collection but also interesting cars belonging to other people.
Saw Jay driving up the street yesterday. He’s passionate about keeping the cars on the road!
I have always been extremely impressed with Jay Leno as it pertains to his "cars & shop".... He ALWAYS gives recognition to the people who are actually doing the work on these vehicles. It is awesome to see someone with his status in life (famous & wealthy), give 100% credit to his workers!! Because he is a great guy!
Great humility, humor, self deprecation, entertainment.
Geez, Jay. Be careful! You are an American icon of cars .I enjoy learning from you here and I could listen all day. Back in the 70s ,I had a '57 Chrysler Saratoga (push button shifting) (near mint) and a '62 Chrysler Imperial I drove back from California with my wife and brother (RIP Kevin) after my wife and I hitch hiked to southern Cal from Michigan City, Indiana with 50 dollars ,a suitcase, and duffel bag. We really met some decent people for rides all the way. We got the mint Imperial for only 250 dollars because the sellers wife needed diapers for their baby! When I drove back to LaPorte ,Indiana, the first gas station I hit was where the attendant offered me 600 dollars on the spot for the car Travelled across the Mojave with a cool black dude and a long haired friend of his in a '63 Chevy Impala with cold Coors beer in the back seat with us. The longest wait for a ride was at St. Louis until a van with long hairs picked us up and let us party with them before continuing West. Heh. Keep the channel going, I dig it! I am a young 73 today. Peace.
Jay is the physical manifestation of the spirit of a 9-year old kid in all of us. Watching him, his collection, is a personally relatable experience, doesn't feel like watching someone on the altar looking down at us for not having to achieve what our hearts desire. Seeing him adding another piece to his collection genuinely makes me happy every time.
Man Jay just takes his life with a joy, love it! Even the accidents, he just jokes about them...dont know anyone else with such a happy spirit. You are a true treasure and deserve all the best!
Jay played the game and listened to Hollywood airheads and now can do what he loves. Lucky guy.
So thats where one of the H1 V8s went... AWESOME. Followed that work for years... 400 hp and 11k rpms.
You just HAVE to admire and respect Jay's attitude and responses to the adversity life has been handing him lately! 👍🙂👍
I mean it's a show. But yes hopefully he's doing well in real life too
Jay is doing something ill never get to do- he's living his dream. I appreciate that he lets us experience ot with him.
I just love how he preserves the past he sees the value in something that somebody would just walk over and not even think twice about
He really is a great guy - very real, unlike most celebrities.
@@Reed___ yes so true. He never swears either. He's just a great guy
Jay,
May you live to be a hundred +. (You have so many projects, you'll need to!) In the future, PLEASE be careful because we all love you, and want to see you around for a good long time. Stay healthy and keep up the good work, you're awesome!
P.S. - I met you at Paramount Studios many years ago when you came there to check out the hydrogen cars that BMW had on display near the Bronson fountain, it was great to meet you and chat for a while. Good times.
All I care about are the Restoration blogs. Best videos ever.
I'm glad you re still with us Jay and make time to share the details of your passion with us.
Glad your ok Jay keep on rocking doing what you do best!!!!
Jay, you are an ICON in a lot of worlds - comedy, Late Night, and of course, your passion for motors, and everything surrounding them. Please be careful, we don't want to lose you to some freak circumstance. God has plans for you, but don't test him, he doesn't take it well.
Classic Jay Leno, swapping transmissions and brakes and hot rodding antiques.
It is so good to see Jay back, even though he is moving slowly, he still has his humor and will be back to his good ole self.
Jay you still have your great sense of humor. It's a wonder you didn't turn out to be the headless horseman. Thank you for being such a trooper and continue to share a great show.
Sense of humor, intact. Age, decapitation, mechanical damage?
Keep on rocking Jay!
Jay it is great to see you are back to work. I am a car guy but in a little different way than you. I worked for Ford Motor Company from 1969 until 2012. I have been around the globe a few times fixing Ford products no one else could repair and solving engineering issues in 46 different countries traveling millions of miles of in the process. I really enjoy your videos and I am very happy to see you are healing well from your accidents. I hope you continue to heal and stay healthy. I would love to see your cars collection. Thank you for giving us a peek at them by doing these videos.
Jay is having a rough go lately. I appreciate your spirit, Jay - to push through the obvious pain in order to share the art and engineering as well as some of the skilled folks keeping these mechanical wonders in working order so they can be appreciated into the future.
Great too see Jay back ! He’s like an energizer bunny
Thank you Jay for showing us the inside of your garage and your collection!
Very happy that you're back Mr. Leno. Keep going. Don't stop.
It's nice to see you back after all your accidents. We love you and the channel take care of yourself. We need you around a lot longer seeing you seeing you around all your cars It's beautiful to watch. You are totally in your element.
Jay, I'm so happy you weren't injured more seriously.👍👃
The coolest part about cars is the history involved and things that went on during those times … the icing on the cake is owning and driving a old car …. That’s all I want is a daily older truck or car… I was saving money to buy something which took me years to save but then I lost my son in a car accident he was 20 years old … the car or truck I wanted would of eventually went to him … it squashed my dreams
Hope you are still around for a hundred years, as others have said you are in your element.
What makes all this work is Jay's ability to surround himself with people that share the same passions and drive to do the job better and not settle for mediocrity. Glad to see you're back in the saddle.
Really good to see Jay is going to be ok. He really is a national treasure to the hobby,
not to mention quite philanthropic to many charities as well.
On top of all that, by all accounts he's a nice guy to boot too; it'd be a bucket list thing
for me to meet him one day.
Love these resto blogs!

Sorry you got hurt Mr. Leno, and here's to a full recovery for you. I turn 72 this month, and I got hurt just before Christmas when a car leaving a parking lot didn't see me riding my bicycle on the sidewalk and ran over me. Yes, like you said, good thing I wasn't an old guy or that could have been serious! My knees got twisted up in the bicycle frame before the car backed off of me, and both knees still hurt, but that's life. I restore old bicycles. They are easy and cheap compared to Duesenberg's!
Jay Leno Thank you For Being you forever Young fabulous Jay Leno. It’s all about luck I was conscripted to the Vietnam war twice. It only happened to 2 people. I did the automotive Electrical and mechanical engineer, royal electrical engineer, electrical fitter special class and I passed by this time the war was over, and then nobody wanted me any more. I hope that made a smile at border glimpse, because I know laughter makes us live so much longer to do the mini things would like to do. Thank you Jay Leno.
