Jay is single-handedly keeping the denim shirt industry alive.
More like keeping anyone else from wearing a denim shirt.

It doesn't matter what Jay did for a living. Getting to know him through his garage (cars and bikes) has been wonderful. We can appreciate what he shares with us because we all have had or do have garages. And all his workes need to be recognized for their relationship with him and their work.
His guys are a crucial component and for years, Jay has always been awesome about featuring them and their work. Bernard is a favorite of mine, I think that dude could build just about anything.

Definitely a nice escape from Trump-Putin cult garbage.
I'm a mechanic aspiring to be a comedian
That's funny!@@chi-tn
One thing you gotta remember with everything Jay does: this guy is 73 years old! And despite two severe accidents in the last months he doesn't slow down. He's just an awesome dude... 😎😎🤘🤘
He is in good shape, for his age...I am 76 now, and can tell you it is hard to stay in shape at this age range!
we're so lucky
@@curbozerboomer1773are you scared of death at your age? Do you live every day like it’s your last? I’m scared to grow old.
@@Gaudinedont worry if your got to go 76 years young 😊😊😊
Jay was certainly very fortunate in his recovery from his accidents, though Jay was still recovering in his previous restoration blog. But is nice to see Jay still gets around to showcasing the world on CZcams the numerous projects he has in the works.
I lost my poor young daughter to breast cancer a few weeks ago. 😢
Seeing Jays latest restoration blog listed gave me my first little smile since. 😊
It’s a start…
Thanks Jay.
I'm sorry to hear about your baby, take care of yourself🤔
I am so sorry for your loss Brad, my condolences. R.I.P.
Godspeed your precious daughter into eternity...praying you and your family @bradsmith9189
Sorry to hear about your daughter ❤
I lost my son unexpectantly a few months ago. It's really hard. I hope you find peace.
For as much as this guy has accomplished, these JLG episodes are his greatest legacy to Mankind! Thanks, Jay!

Pretty good considering he grew up in a very modest home in Andover, MA.
Saving these cars is expensive. Jay, my hat is off to you for being willing to pay for all these amazing pieces of history to be restored and working. Future gnerations will be greatly indebted to you for not only restoring these machines right now but documenting them and making it so they can keep them running when you are gone. I salute you!
Absolutely true, coolest man in Hollywood by far!
@@jone8626 Doubtful..... his museum will rock on for generations!
I highly doubt that@@jone8626 His collection could become a museum in itself or he will likely gift vehicles to collections such as the Petersen Automotive Museum or Nethercutt Collection depending on their make or speciality. His wife and mechanical team fully understand his passion and wishes. Imagine the Petersen having a Jay Leno wing, it would be a huge attraction. In the meantime let's hope he has a long and healthy life and stops crashing into chains or setting himself on fire!
@@jone8626 Maybe. Then again, Jay may have made arrangements on what to do with them. Look at the Nethercutt Collection. He is gone but the collection lives on and still maintains the cars.
As long as Richard Rawlings, Chip Fooooze, and Barrett-Jackson does not get ahold them.
Your crew is a bunch of dedicated , brilliant nice guys. They know how much you appreciate them by the way they interact with you.Just hoping there will be people years from now that can carry on the tradition.
And who knows what he pays them
If they could just keep him away from the steam cars and motorcycles, he might go on forever.
No one could ever denie Jay is a true car guy , not a brand guy ,he's a national treasure
I admire the philosophy, the work ethic, the respect for history and personal stories.... the auto equivalent to Johnny Appleseed.
And the denim! Dont forget the denim.
No work ethic at all on the Baker Electric.
Shocking, simply shocking!@@eldonnparks8059
work ethic comes from high paying wages and good bosses / work environment. Go to any chain place and mechanics have to buy and use their own tools while getting paid sub 20/hr wages. there is no work ethic when making less than 30/hr. not possible.
Work ethic comes from within the individual.@@zebunker
I do love a Jay Leno restoration blog 💚😍
I love these restoration blog episodes. Seeing the process, learning all the histories of these wonderful machines, is so satisfying. I love that Jay makes sure these vehicles actually run and drive, and aren't just mothballed in some warehouse. Thanks for sharing these stories with all of us.
My grandmother wrecked my grandfather's Stanley Steamer in the 20's or so, when her sleeve caught the throttle. It end up half way up a tree, the Steamer not her sleeve (actually both now that I think about it). She said, one of the reasons she married him was because he was so gracious about the wreck she knew he had to be a good guy.
Thank you, Jay, for all you do.

Including the bad info he perpetuates, like with the Syclone or the WS6 package on the Firebirds? People listen to this clown and take his word as educated gospel. As a result, there are thousands of people in the F-body groups on social media that swear WS6 stands for 'Wide suspension 6 pieces," when it does not actually stand for anything, just because he said so. Yeah, thanks for that, Jay.
❤❤❤❤❤ jay is an American treasure !
I would love to tour his garage and just listen to him telling stories about his cars for hours. He's probably forgotten more about automotive history than most people even know.
Doesn't seem to be forgetting anything, from car facts to all the stories from his own extensive life.
Jay is so positive about everything, even accidents and his own injuries.
Absolute hero all around. It really seems like Jay is one of the few celebrities who made it big but didn't let it get to his head. He seems like a guy who could've spent his life working at a garage or plumbing and he'd have the same personality and love for life!
"This was during a confused time of my life, when I was still trying to figure out who I was." Very funny. The knowledge Jay and his team possess is remarkable. I always look forward to the Restoration Blog episodes. Thank you, Jay.
Jay, you are so funny, smart and you have an amazing memory! I’m so glad you’re healing up so well from your “adventures gone a bit south”. Thank you for all you do in front of the camera and behind the scenes. 👏🏼💕
I love when Jay brings his folks on camera. Always fun to see the various faces and voices behind the scenes. Good stuff.
George to Jay, “ I just want you happy” how sweet🥰
Jay's Restoration Blogs are my favorite segments of his channel! It's like taking a walk through the working parts of his kingdom, seeing the artisans building and repairing all of the esoteric machines that make the Big Dog Garage such a magical place.
i love these videos that jay does from time to time. he describes the defects and the design details as best he can. when he cant describe something to us he gets the machinist the fabricators and mechanics involved in the videos. jay is such a car guy and his videos are some of the best on you tube. THANKS JAY.
Always love the restoration blog. The transition music I can do without.
What is telling is how Jay gets along with his second family: Shop technicians. You can tell George knows he's lucky and you can tell Jay feels lucky to have George. Shops around America stay in business when relationships with office and shop are sincere and based on mutual appreciation.
Smaller steering wheel for smaller turns. L - for logic. 🤣🤣🤣Jay is awesome!
Jay I am glad that you have the drive, intelligence and the money to bring these cars back to life for car lovers of the future. You are an amazing human. Thanks..
As he is the president of the more money than brains club, 😅 two out of 3 ain't bad.
@donc-m4900 atleast he is not wasting his money on the brainless climate change mob..
@@donc-m4900agree, he has tons and tons of money and "only" some tons of intelligence. Still more knowledge and enthusiasm than most of us😊
@johnbethea4505 - Jay is an amazing *person* too. :)
It’s amazing that there’s still mechanical craftsmanship capable of working on such esoteric cars and that Jay is able find and to hire such talented workers.
I guess Jay is waiting for just the right person to finish the Baker Electric.
Maybe in another 10 years.
@@eldonnparks8059wow!! How many whiny comments are you going to make?🙄
I feel like we missed out on so many good years of car shows while Jay wasted his time on that silly talk show. 😉 Seriously, Jay really brings the spirit and significance of each car alive by sharing interesting quirks that you would not hear on any other car show. Thanks for sharing your collection and knowledge with us Jay!
Eh, the talk show paid for the cars.
Yep, i think he was paid $20 million per year for 20 years! @@superturtle273
Can’t have one without the other.
And truthfully before the internet their was no way to make a show like this. It would have been too niche.
Now it’s still niche but internet production is cheap enough that the niche is large enough to support it.
I really like Jay's "ordinary" videos, but NOTHING comes close to the "Restoration Blogs"... They are imho simply next level. Both when it comes to the cars we get to see, but even more important is that we get to see the and hear from the "artisans" who work on them... I love it !!
Best regards.
Fortunately for all of us Jay Leno shares his collection and knowledge with all of us. I have a Noble Steam Car hub cap and was impressed with seeing jay's Doble.
Jay Leno's Garage is truly a special place
"The gasket set is made of unobtainium for this car." Love it. Never heard that said before.
I really appreciate that Jay is keeping the history alive for the future generations. It really doesn't matter how you feel about the good old internal combustion engine. The fact that it is a huge part of our national history and helped making our country strong and great needs to be remembered. To have a man so dedicated to preserving that history and sharing his journey is truly a gift to us all. Keep up the great work Jay. I love your channel.
I hope there are some more "STEAM CAR" videos in our future. Love the restoration blogs! Can't get enough of these. Thank you Jay!!
This should be a weekly hour or half-hour show. Exactly the way it is presented here. One of the greatest things on CZcams.
Love the fashion statement you make ! There's just one thing I like better than a blue denim jacket, that's a black denim jacket!
Your retort to the nattering nabobs is phenomenal. My wife and I saw your performance in Vegas a few years ago and we laughed until we cried. I've been a fan of JLG since its early years. I'm collector and restorer of cars from the '30s and your show has been an inspiration. Stay genuine, and long live denim button downs.
I appreciate Jay bringing in the "content experts" into the show to explain the restoration and also give credit where credit is due. One of the things I like about how Jay goes about his business.
Seeing behind the denim curtain is quite a treat!
The denim wardrobe is priceless. White House denim ROFLMAO! what a beauty you are Jay!
Quite a thorough insight this time. Wonderful. Thank you and to all the staff involved for this most enjoyable episode.
ik wil geslachtsgemeenschap met jou
Jay and his team are doing amazing work keeping these classics alive.
No one pulls off double denim like Jay 🙌🏽🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Keep em coming Jay! still the best dressed man in show biz and its no competition!
Jay is such a caretaker of such historic vehicles. What a wonderful series!
Sitting back with one of Mr. Leno's Restoration Blogs. Such a class act, and true car guy. I had the pleasure of taking in his act at a great comedy club while visiting my brother in LA.
What a wonderful way to start a fine Labor Day. 😁
If u are used to Carillo rods , try Verdi and b UTTERLY AMAZED !!
Jay has the Brains to complete what the ( experts ) do . He pays others to do what he is capable of doing himself .
Doesn’t hurt to have an Amazing memory to remember all the details .
Smartest thing they did was replace Johnny Carson with Jay Leno .
Unlike these modern Basket Cases that have Talk Shows , Leno was always 100% unbiased on his Show . No body knows if he is a Constitutionalist or a Radical Liberal ?
Glad he kept it that way … None of anybody’s business who he supports 😊 ❤❤
You're correct, these are my favorite videos. I feel like we've been invited into your shop.
Loved this video, really gives you a great appreciate how amazing those steam car designers were, imagine taking them into the modern world with CAD and CNC machines they would go crazy with what they could do.
The machine shop I worked for done a 3D printed part for jay . A few months ago . Duncan Machine products using velo machine built in CA .
George rules! No ego and an expert par excellence. More, more, more!
Thank You Jay for living my dreams of mechanical fun. Best wishes for health and happiness. The crew of wizards are a special creative team.
That is *ALOT* of denim!!! LOL. Awesome episode Jay. The guys you have working for you are top notch. What a great work environment that must be for everyone. It's amazing what went in to designing and building those classic vehicles.
Time and time again... this is the greatest automotive show around. So thankful for Jay's commitment to sharing his true joy. Love Jay Leno's garage!
👋THANKS JAY,GEORGE,JIMMY , WE LOVE ❤️ RESTORATION VLOGS 🤗 AND WE ARE NOT SURPRISED BY YOUR EXTENSIVE WARDROBE 👍😎💚💚💚
George has got to have one of the most obscure and simultaneously the most specific job specs - being in charge of rare French 2 cylinder cars, producing less than 70hp. It suggests that there's someone else who's looking after rare French 2 cylinder cars, producing *more* than 70hp.
If there is some such person on the payroll, it's worth checking to see how busy they are; I'm not aware of any French 2 cylinder cars that do produce more than 70hp. This person has got the easiest job in car restoration ever!!
If Bernard does come up with a good solution, there's probably loads of other owners out there desperate for non-rattly cooling fans; could be a good sales opportunity 🙂
Yes! I do like your restauration blogs in particular, do more of them 🙂
Mr. Leno, I love your channel. I am the first to admit I am not a car guy at all, I know very little about them. I am, however, a huge history buff, I enjoy the history of anything, and your garage is iconic. Thank you for always sharing and teaching me.
Brilliant cratmen keeping mechanical history alive and relevant. Oh to be a "fly on the wall" at Jay's shop.
You must have one of the best mechanics ever, the knowledge he has will never be found in the future, and your workshop equipment and tools needed must be as extensive as the ongoing maintenance. Well done to all involved. Good wardrobe by the way, the laundry people must think they see double or multiples thereof.
Absolutely love these. I could watch it all the time. The craftsmen that work for Jay are just as interesting as the things they work on.
Jay, the Man!!!
Jay, you are so lucky you have the type of mechanic/fabricator that George is. Four years later I am still waiting for my Bill Mitchell tribute '70 Firebird ProTouring RestoMod. Yes, extensive, complex, stem-to-stern, ground-up, technically excellent. But four years and still a fair amount to do? And you are able to but your fueliie Vette engine together in less than a day?? Lucky man.
Good to see Jimmy found a proper garage to use his talents. When working for Boyd Coddington he got things done but always under an impossible time line so Boyd builds all cut corners. Nothing like the high quality Jay puts into every build…
I first got introduced to Jay in 1987 when I landed in Chicago as a foreign student. It has been 36 years since. Though I returned back home after graduation I always watched Jay’s shows whenever I could. I have complete respect for Jay as a model human.
@waqarghulan3548 - Jay is a model *person* too. :)
Viva Autorevolution!
Jay, your crew is amazing! They have so many complex projects to work on it is amazing they don't just spontaneously combust from the effort required.
I worked in the elevator industry for 42 years. During that time, I realized, you don’t have to be as smart as the guy that designed it originally. You do have to figure out why they did what they did. I love seeing all the people, Jay puts together. Their willingness to work on anything that’s thrown at them, reminds me of when we would arrive at a job. Ask for the electrical prints, and one time a sweet lady said to me “Anyone can fix it with instructions!” LOL
Can't wait to hear about that Chrysler Turbine Car in the back!!! That closet with all those demin shirts, well it made my day!!!
Jay- you and your crew are genius. How about coming up with a hydrogen engine, and take us all for a ride into the future, at the same time as you are restoring the world’s automotive past.
Also, with your journeyman experts, when are you going to start mentoring the next generation of experts ??
Love all you do !!
Always enjoy your blogs Jay, l also admire the respect you demonstrate when you rebuild old machines (as my dad used to call them). Keep up the great work.
The restoration bloggers absolutely the best you tube
Mr. Leno! You make us smile AND we live our lives vicariously through you...many thanks..
LOOKING 👀 FORWARD TO IT 🤗😎💚💚💚
Jay,
You have phenomenal karma; you are my favorite celebrity because of the kindness and respect you have for yourself you easily give it to everybody meet … do you have to be the example to set the example and you have to set the example to be the example and you are that example… a little redundant but as ROBIN WILLIAMS would say be fearless, but kind..🇺🇸⭐️❤️🩹
I love it, had not heard the term "unobtainium" in ages. Enjoy you and your team.
This was great content. I am 45 years old so I guess I could say I grew up in the Jay Leno era. I remember when he replaced Johnny Carson LOL. Love you Jay👍👍
Last chunk takes me to Jeff Golblum in the 90's remake of "The Fly". No time to worry about what to wear today.
My only complaint is that Jay is not my neighbor. How cool would that be.
I would never get anything done, I'd always be peering over the fence like Wilson 😂
Nailed it.@@goosenotmaverick1156
Same shirt complete continuity! Simply brilliant.
Dude was stressed about that fan huh
Had to go to Poland for the best steal for the Doble?? I guess you're right: "When it's running great, it's _unbelievable_ . . . when it's running bad, it's *unbelievable"*
Nice too see jimmy landed on his feet after the stress of the Boyd Codington days. Nice work jimmy ✌️🇬🇧
I had a Boss who only wore blue shirts, yellow shirts and black pants. We used to all talk about how he wore the same clothes everyday. I went to California with him and went in his hotel room where he had 5 blue shirts, 5 yellow shirts, and 5 pairs of black pants. Turns out he was color blind and didn't want to wear any colors that would conflict. Pretty funny. Thinking about you Al ! Great denim collection Jay!
Hey Jay, Well another wonderful episode!😁👍 lots of different projects and lots of Denim jackets. Can’t beat it with a stick!😎👏👍⭐️🕊🦋🕊☮️🖤🌅🙏✌️🎉
Amazing that Jay finds all of these unique and rare cars. Thanks for showing them.
I'm with you and George, Jay. MADE IN THE USA !!!
Just like the White House, Jay has the Blue Room . The metal work Jay's guys do is amazing.
I absolutely love the updates and hearing all the inside baseball accounts on the restorations.
That Pannard is beautiful. A Picasso on wheels. If it went fast, fewer admirers would get a good look at it. It's like when Christie Brinkley was young, they put her in a Ferrari in the movie, knowing we really wanted her in the pool not driving by too fast.
The French Panhard was a great car.
The made great cars-- huge, really big-- before WW I.
A 1905 Panhard & Lavessor vehicle can be seen at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, in Maine.
Gorgeous, De Luxe loking vehicle.
Thank you Jay for this fantastic video.
Dang Jay! Burned by super-heated steam and then clotheslined off your sidecar motorcycle; and your still kickin'. Please take it just a wee-bit easier man, we like having you around.
Tune in next week to see Jay fly his new Water-Tanker Converted P-51 Mustang up to Oregon to help douse forest fires. God speed Jay!!!
I know you tend to stick to details about the vehicles. Which is awesome! But I really did appreciate the little comedy bit at the end about the denim, It was the cherry on top!
If anyone deserves to live forever, it would be Jay.
Keeping the what to wear simple. I wear my Levi 501 pants and my Highway 101 Rod and Custom shirts every day. Like Jay I have more than one.
23:38 I'm dyin'! 😂🤣 Thank you for answering what we've suspected for years!
Oh my gosh we actually get a glimpse of Jay's denim collection!! 🤣🤣I love it! I think I still have a denim shirt buried in my closet from the 90s, what time. Great video!!
You got me and Jimmy with the throttle joke (for turning smaller circles) too!
I'm looking forward to the day that Jay comes out with his new line of denim shirts and accessories for us large, full figured guys. I'll be a customer for sure!! .....Russell D.
Machine work, Jay you make everything come to LIFE! In the tradition of Bill Harria South Lake Tahoe .
