- This is s song about The Industrial north of England in the 1930's
and is dedicated to My Mum who was Born in the Durham Area of the North East of England and my Grandad (her Dad) was A Coal Miner most of his life..it was a hard life for Hard men.
This song was written By Chris Coombs of the Band "Light Years away" who during 1971 recorded one side of an Album called "Astral Navigations" on the Holy ground Label.
The Guitarist for Light Years Away was Bill Nelson later to form
Be Bop Delux and Bill Nelsons Red Noise.

Then both you and I have some idea of the hard life of living for 10 hrs or more a day underground in a hard physical environment..most people these days could take that kind of daily grind of hard labour

Hey Brian..great to hear from you my friend..its been a while..im really happy you liked my performance , thanks for your great Comment. unfortunately i no longer have any living close relatives in the North East, but i know that the closing of the pits was both a blessing and a curse for the area because often whole communities had built up around the Pits, I had other family members in various parts of the North East who were all deeply effected by pit closures in the 1970's.

Hi Stuart.....Another new song for me......from an artiste that I've not heard of until now..
Has a colloquial folk feel...and as North East was mining, the lyrics run true to events of that nature.
Probably same as The Spinners sang Liverpool/Mersey based Folk songs of the heritage of that area.

the Spinners now that brings back a few childhood memories..i used to listen to the spinners a lot as a child..it was from them that i learned so much about Liverpool based folk songs.

Maybe just check your settings Stuart...I receive notification of some comments...and others I don't know about until I check my Comments section in Community. I also suspect that some YT'ers have not checked their own settings that allow their comments to be shown. All in All..YT/Google continue to make this so difficult to just share and comment on each others video's....After making some enquiries...I've now decided to treat YT and G+ as 2 separate Video sharing websites. Some comments on YT are repeated on G+...Other comments are seen only in G+..but apparently do not show on your YT Video. Between the two, they've made a complete balls-up of the whole thing..by virtue of their greed for more profit. Anyway..to hell with them....Hope you have a great weekend.......Regards....Dave
I know exactly what you mean Dave there is no continuity..I don't know why they just wont leave you tube and G+ alone for a while..i dont feel it ever makes things better for the users.
anyway iv managed to find out where the settings i needed where and i put a tick in the box that said "allow notification when friends comment on my videos" which had become unticked all by itself and now i know when people are commenting on my videos again.

it has some hypnoting thing in it. "Light Years away" it reminds me a little on Bill Wyman on Satanic majesty request (and he made some songs which did not come out on the album but were out-takes.)
