Esta música transmite, arruga el corazón de una manera extraña, las notas denotan tristeza y no se que dice la letra, pero no puedo dejar de escuchar la ejecución de la interprete. Estoy seguro que en vivo o pasando por una situación adversa sacaría mas de una lagrima. Y aunque a mi parecer sin conocer de todo esto en el tercer acto se cayó un poco en las emociones, la primera parte fue fenomenal

Carmen told me she tries to reach and touch the heart and the soul of the listener when performing rather than concentrating on absolute technical perfection. I agree entirely with you. Carmen does just that. Her performances are always deeply passionate and moving, and often very exciting too.

Ela estuda desde os 3 anos de idade com a mãe que também foi uma grande cantora lírica. Acho que somente talento não faz uma pessoa cantar tão bem assim, por trás desse "talento" na verdade existe: muita dedicação, estudo, amor pela arte, foco, perseverança, etc.

Carmen's voice comes from the heavens. Beautiful and effortless. I love the Babbino song, and like most renditions, but not one can hold a candle to hers. I listen to it over and over and it always brings me to tears She totally engages her audience, many also brought to tears. She puts her whole soul into the song. Bravo, Carmen!

stunning. I think she beat Callas on that one. Callas sounded so mature in her babbino caros. This soprano's pure voice with its almost ethereal quality captures the innocence of the teenage Lauretta as she pleads with babbino-daddy

I absolutely agree, I heard so many versions but Carmen's voice is very "young" in sound and fits this particular aria perfectly, Maria Callas or even Monserat Caballe had very mature voices, perfect for Habanera

Eu passei a minha infância, adolescência e juventude numa comunidade paupérrima. Minha mãe sempre gostou de musica clássica e colocava pra nós ouvirmos. Hoje a música erudita faz dueto com minha alma e ouvir Carmen é como oxigénio puro em meio a tanta porcaria da música brasileira, lamentável. Quanto ouço música classica e fecho os olhos parece que estou em outra dimensão, um mundo paralelo. Carmen Monarch e sem dúvida alguma a ponte entre esses dois mundos e uma preciosidade em talento, dom e ternura.

I once thought this lady was the only one who could do this one properly, then two years later I heard a ten year old Dutch girl sing the same song dresses exactly the same with the same orchestra and now I can't make up my mind which is best. They both caused me to use up a box of tissues and still do. You'd think a man of 85 years would be able two make up his mind by this time but when you get two such great vices to listen to in one lifetime it is very difficult.I am leaning towards Amira a little bit as she is self taught and much younger while Carmen Monarcha is an established Opera singer with her own opera company in Brazil. Still hard to choose all the same so I listen to both of them many times in the course of a week
that was meant to be voices not vices.(one would be too young and the other I would imagine wouldn't have the time to indulge in such I would like to think)
Why worry which one you like just enjoy both!! I will throw a spanner in the works look up Opera North and look for a young lady on there singing it as well.
