Those Alpina boys who told you not to mess with their engine outside their professional shop should be ashamed of themselves now. Great work.
Can’t imagine an Alpina dealer/workshop doing a better job! Alpina missed out on a great sponsorship opportunity here. Anyway, great job man!!
Yup! He can tell them; "It's NOT your engine! It's MY engine!!!"
Show me a professional shop working at this level of quality and care. None existing. Period.
it's all about the money
@@macstone9719 because the bill would be worth more than the car this is a hobby rebuild not a business project
I love you explain everything like we all have a B7 at home
You don't??
alpina watching like oh shit, they evolved
wait you don't?
how this guy commented 2 days ago🤨
@@breytonnaidoo4851 I think it dropped in some place on Saturday and others just today.
I Created a Monster... I bought my 15 year old son a 2000 BMW 540i 6 speed manual for his 1st car 10 years ago... He still has that 540i (that is still his baby)...he has done work on every single component on that car over the years. He now also owns a 2000 E39 M5 that he put a Supercharger on from another M5 Wreck that he bought and completely gutted. he also has a 2008 550i, a 535i, a 530i, a 1997 540i, and yesterday he brought a 2007 BMW Alpina here to my shop... He is thrilled to have this B7 Alpina...it needs a little work but she runs and drives and sounds Great !
I Created a BMW Monster...but, he's never been in any trouble... and I couldn't be more proud of him !
*YOU ROCK BEN !*
Great video M539... I loved your adventure!
LIKED/SUBSCRIBED !
Sreton... the fact that in all that work you have done, virtually all on your own, with a complicated car, and the worst thing you did was not click one coil into place quite right ... is an amazing accomplishment and I can certainly understand your happiness.
youre the one guy, who deserves every cheer - this dedication, this meticulousness, this entertainment! thanks for your content and putting a smile on peoples faces in such bad times
🎉 fully agree
50:46 „can you believe it?“
Meanwhile everyone knew it was gonna run perfectly
Its still nerve clenching nonthenless
This guy is amazing for sure! But having worked on a crap ton of cars in my former job, you NEVER know. There are so many parts and things are so complicated that you always have that uncertainty
i’m not even a car guy, i’m a datacenter infra engineer and i enjoyed the hell out of this adventure. thank you for caring about details and awesome work!! #respect
You are now a car guy
I was so pleased with myself when I changed my brake pads that I can only imagine how proud you must be. Fantastic work and I never doubted it would run like a dream.
42:50 Sreten!! I just want to tell you: When you shook your fist and yelled "YES!!" I, and probably ALL your long time followers, did as well at the exact same time and with adrenaline washing thru me out of excitement!!!!! Thanks for an awesome and engaging channel!!!
Thank you!!
I know I sure did, yeah 😁
I went to my wife, who saw a lot of the project. Se was on the phone. She showed me the "i'm on the phone" sign, I did not care about and said: it started. The alpina started. She smiled. She who take 2 years to watch Sreten at work, and started with this project. I'm almost gealous of her starting with the alpina, instead, i'm not. I saw all the videos.
Absolutely!
Yes, I did! I love it when a plan comes together.
I work at a BMW dealer, and I guarantee no tech would take the same care that you did building this engine. I enjoyed watching the whole process. Cheers and congrats on the smooth running engine 👍
Edit: I think the point I was trying to make was that Aplina had told Sreten that this car should be repaired only by those qualified to do so. However, in his care, I guarantee that he has done a better job than most people "qualified" in Alpina's eyes. That is the difference between doing this on the clock as a day job, and working on a car as a hobby/ enthusiast. Do I expect dealer techs to take this level of care when working on a car? No. They have book times to beat all while juggling a good quality job that they can be proud of.
I'm not bashing dealer Techs. I am a dealer tech lol
Agreed, I was a senior tech at BMW and I never witnessed this workmanship, I’m almost ashamed of my my previous work in comparison. How many AW’s would this have taken lol
@@danh2622 thousands lol
Because the employee at the dealership has to make the same thing in a fraction of the time that Sreten did. Money making machine Vs entusiast mechanic.
Of course no tech is going to be vapor blasting anything
I went though an apprenticeship with BMW, mainly learned from senior engineers experience, however repair manuals were very rarely viewed as efficiency was always put before quality. It’s not poor mechanics in dealerships, it’s more the system that’s at fault. Shame really but that’s why I left the trade.
As an old retired mechanic , I enjoy watching your shows. It reminds me of a 42 years long career doing jobs like this. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
You have every reason to be proud. That is a particularly difficult job. I'm sure that even those fancy-pants at Alpina will grudgingly admit you did a good job.
Alpina's fears have materialized, you created a start to end tutorial on how to work on the B7 with great detail and a successful result.
Well played Sreten.
That engine is the happiest it's ever been, better than new.
SRETEN: it runs FLAWLESSY and evertything works in PERFECT HARMONY...That engine runs like it first rolled out of the factory...Only masterful mechanics can do an engine rebuild at this level of PERFECTION!
I was here at the start of this channel. It's amazing to see how far you've come since not having a lift! Love that you explain enough while still making it entertaining. Also wish more people would adopt a do it once, do it right attitude.
Thank you, Sam!
@@M539Restorations Respect + Admiration from all us MHeads who have rebuilt an engine! 44 years of BMW ownership + repairs rarely have we've seen such immaculate care taken! Also spent 1000's of hours filming + editing video so I Know how hard you have been Working!
All round Excellent Work + Production.....Congrats + Cruise Soulfully South to the Sun....
Have Fun....Just Desserts!
man... i was so happy seeing how happy you were when she was started smoothly! Now we see how much it means to you! You did amazing job and should be proud!
Zzźxx
Jj
Dang and I was proud I changed the secondary air pump and the spark plugs on my Mercedes. THIS Alpina project here is something to be proud of.
I bet that some Alpina engineers/technicians watched you rebuild this thing and thought that not even they could have done such a perfect job. The company's response to you at the beginning of this project was just company policy. I love what you do, you are so lucky that you can do these things and I hope that you can do it for life! Sad to see people that you have your biggest passion in common with are thousands of kms away. Enjoy your vacay, Italy is the best!!
What can be better than a new one hour video from Sreten on a Saturday? Top video as always, keep up the good work!
Can't be many places in the world it's a Saturday still.
Another hour from Sreten
You meant "only one hour" right?
His comment is 2 days old, I guess Sreten reuploaded the video
I just got the video on my feed
I loved how your voice changed when you realised that there aren't any leaks or weird noises. That is what the pure happiness sounds like. Najjači si, samo napred!!
This Alpina is purring like a big kitty now.. just imagine how it will sound after sorting out on the dyno-tuning maybe he will also add few extra horses like (+550 or closer to 600 bhp)..
Your attention to detail is second to none. I'm sure most "professional" mechanics hate you by now for showing everyone "how it's done" 😖😂
This is a HUGE win for you. Can't even imagine the time spent reasearching parts and stuff for this. Fantastic job as always!
57 minutes of my life gone there, thanks Sreten that was an absolute masterclass even by your own standards...
Thank you, Matthew!
Man I don't think I've ever been so happy for someone I do not personally know. How you're talking about what you did and how you're proud of the work at the end made me smile like an idiot. Great job!
You’re an absolute legend! This was such a satisfying restoration to watch. Enjoy your vacation! Do some short updates of your fun! Or don’t, I’ll love you no matter what
That feeling when it starts beautifully, nice idle, no smoke, no leaks…heaven 👏
Every Alpina deserves to be treated like this. I predict the results will be rewarding.
Funny story, I was watching on close captions near the end because my wife was on the phone and when you were revving the engine at 49:45 the AI interpreted the engine sound and displayed [Applause]. Very fitting.
I'm amazed when you do "just a service" to the supercharger everybody else would have call this a full rebuild! Great job and video as usual :)
I think it ended up as a full rebuild. Can’t think what would be left!
@@supercartribe Impeller bearings would be included in a full rebuild. But as Sreten mentioned, they were fine, so no need to change them.
That supercharger rebuild had me sweating. Well done.
She's alive - keep me smiling. Proud for your great job!!!!
When this car is complete it will be the best Alpina B7 on the road
I expected nothing less from you than a smooth running, perfect restored engine.
This made my day. I'm sick with cold, couldn't sleep and here's Sreten with new upload to save the day. Thanks pal
Same here. Only I’m C19 positive 😀.
@@kejefelcz Get well soon.
Get well quickly!
@@M539Restorations Thanks, I'll be back to 100% health soon, just like your Alpina B7
I've ended up buying a "cheap" E60 525i.. There's no such thing as a cheap BMW. The more time I spend with it, the more I find is not right, and the more history of neglect and abuse I uncover. Look what you've done to me Streten! I want to fix it and give it a new lease on life!
Bloody great work on the B7, can't wait to see the finale!
*Stands and applauds*
That’s a holiday well earned; loved this Alpina project it’s been so great to watch. Enjoy the break and enjoy the drive !
The sounds the bolts make when they break loose. Always satisfying.
This is now has become more than just a car repair video, it's so entertaining even for those who have zero knowledge with cars.
Salutes from Middle East my friend.
I love you and your humour! Serbia has tremendous people with a great sense of humour!
Beautiful job. I have an Alpina B10 3.3 Touring of E39 Vintage which is the love of my life. I think all the Alpina models are getting iconic now due to how few of the older models exist. They're worth our efforts to keep them alive.
I was sitting with a big smile on my face for the last 5 minutes of this fantastic journey with the B7 - congratulations - what a job and enjoy the E39 M5 (the best sedan ever made) to Italy and have a wonderful well earned vacation with you girlfriend - all the best from Denmark.
I love it when he does every step almost perfectly and then is surprised that the baby runs perfectly 😁
this guy deserves the greatest garage and tools of all germany.
Hats off to you Man
When you started taking this beast of an engine apart, I thought what a can of worms you have opened up, & now you have inspected, cleaned & aqua blasted all of them worms & got them all back in exactly the right place. when she started up I felt your joy. Enjoy your well deserved break & Enjoy the drive. I am having a beer for you now. 🍺
Congrats Sreten, this is quite an achievement. You are an inspiration, watching you, your positivity, makes my hands itchy to try out myself. Stay awesome!
Funny how one becomes emotionally invested in these projects as a viewer. Happy to see you reach this milestone! I really want to see it cleaned up and haul ass on the Autobahn now!!
This channel is not just about restoring old BMW:s, this channel is about perfection, the perfect restoration, the perfect engine rebuild, the perfect cleaning of a seat or supercharger. And those clickety-click noise are so satisfactory to hear!!!! You Sir, have my greatest respect.
This part was absolutely mind-blowing. Better than a one-night movie. I think I could almost feel the same relief when this beauty came alive and ran smoothly. I'm very proud of us.
A masterclass. Fantastic build, can't wait to see it on the dyno.
The best ever 'how to' vlog
Brilliant job! Heart was in my mouth when you first started it, but it's purring like a kitten now: a testament to your skills and tenacity.
Wow. Your dedication would put many mechanics to shame. Your a true professional and I thoroughly enjoy every video you make. Enjoy your holiday. We'll deserved.
Real engineering, you blow me away, I could never do what you do, I’d be totally stressed out 🤪
You’re the last of a dying breed 😔
Much respect ✊ my friend. 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
You are a professional, the amount of detail put in your work reflects it all…
1 more checked out!!!
You deserve some sort of recognition from “Alpina” for single handedly completing the project with flying colors.
Love your videos, keep em rolling!!
Love how you methodically disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble each part. We will now refer to you as "The Surgeon" 😉
This name should stick
Please try using the ..Nuro -Surgeon his work is similar.
I should have gone to bed a couple hours ago, but I couldn't stop watching. Excellent work on many levels.
Finally found someone who understands how important Torque control is.
OMG YES, have to get my coffee and cookies for this one first! Have an awesome holiday in Italy, make sure to smoke a few rosso corsa lawnmowers with the mighty ///M5 for me please.
"when a man loves a garbage of a car" cracked me up 😂😂😂
Dude I'm from Morocco and i am building my car too, i can tell you I wait for every new episode so much
Sreten - Absolutely amazing to see the B7 fire up on (basically) the first try! It was so satisfying to see the progress and believe me, I too was shouting YESS when she roared back to life! Thanks for shout out and I'm glad my supercharger rebuild videos were helpful to you.
I’m so happy that after all that work that you’ve put in the engine is finally running. And oh boy she runs like a dream! This was amazing to follow along and I’m looking forward to seeing more videos with this beautiful beautiful car. Congrats!
Dude, you keep on delivering, no matter what! I've been watching for years now and I'm always impatient/eager to watch your new videos! I love your channel! Thank you for the work you do!
The only Alpina B7 that is really fixed on CZcams
Streten has the BEST channel on CZcams. Brilliant work
1 hour well spent. Quality content, it is great to watch everything built in detail. Keep up the good work!
Wow, you have come such a long way. Way back when project Dubai was new on the channel until now.
Self development is something you truely got! Way to go Sreten! 😃
Bravo, bravo, BRAVO!! Hats off to you man, for a job well done. You’re probably the only owner, and especially CZcamsr to accomplish this rebuild.
Like I have always said - Better than any any TV Show....thank you brother
A truly phenomenal achievement, thank you for taking us on the journey with you. Enjoy your well deserved break!
I'm so happy for you my man! I cheer for everything you do and it makes me so happy seeing the engine healthy and running. You've earned my deepest respect for your diligence and professionalism. Been a fan for a long time and can't for your new uploads : ) Enjoy your two weeks off!
I walked every step with you, the disappointment when you found the engine faults, the resolve to do a complete overhaul, to the tension when you turned the key, but you did all the work. Many congratulations, you surely deserve it.
Fantastic work. Discontinued parts on a car this young is unforgivable.
Watching this while repairing a client's Thinkpad, nice job on the supercharger Sretten, a job most repair shops wouldn't even consider touching. So glad to see her coming alive, keep up the good work !!
She's purring nicely! Absolutely fantastic work, well done - it must be a tremendous feeling to finally hear her roar (if just a little roar, for now)
The Alpina content is my favorite the car and it’s style is gorgeous imo
As a normal guy who break in some engines, I recomend you to use normally on city for about 100/200km to let you gain confidence on leaks or whatever, change oil, and then go autobahn and put HIGH LOAD on the gas, while switching speeds. 80, 100, 120, 140, 100, 120, 80 km/h, etc. Just DON'T stay on a stable rpm and load, and try to slow down with engine, not brakes. Do that for about 200km, change oil, and then just enjoy. Anyway, I'm sure that your engine builder already told you how to proper break in his tune up.
Awesome job, keep on it!!!!
That sounds like an amazing holiday with an absolute dream of a car. I hope you have fun, you deserve it!
In previous models, Alpina used coolers that were oem “Middle East” spec and tricky to find from aftermarket suppliers. The supercharger had a few revisions & warranty replacements so well done on the quality rebuild. Also, Alpina assembled the full cooling pack on the frame and supplied to BMW to be fitted on the line. The pack was probably fitted before the headlights & anything else removable at the front.
All e60's and e65's were assembled that way. The entire driveline, front /rear sub frames complete with engine, cooling, brakes and suspension are installed as one complete unit. Lifted into place by a robot from under the body.
To be honest I am not a car guy! I’m doing product design and loving doing prototypes working with 3D printing working in the workshops and doing things by hand. But this accuracy is impressive! Won’t call u a geek but this is what u are and what’s so coool
I was about to sleep when I saw your new upload. Well worth staying up late to watch the Alpina come back to life.
Enjoy your vacation man!
I love this channel, you have good humor, don't play crap music and fast forward through what you are doing, giving our brain cell's a chance to learn without distraction. You restore and repair these car's very meticulously, and take your time to get it perfect. I like western truck and tractor repair, because he work's on everything, and sometimes at the jobsite in the dirt, and all different weather. He tells good stories to, you might like him, he is honest, and is a good trouble shooter like you are. Thanks for the video, I was thinking it was gonna be awhile. God bless.
I always enjoy watching knowledgeable and talented people doing their thing even if I dont have a clue what's going on! What elevates this channel is your sense of humour. Keep it up, thoroughly enjoying the videos.
I hope Alpina are watching this..... I highly doubt that they would do as good a job as this...👍👍 Top work
If I can't set aside the time to watch this in one sitting I don't. This masterpiece of a CZcams Channel should not be disrespected by watching it in multiple sittings!
I just wanted to say that thanks to your content, I bought my first BMW. That was 3 BMW's ago. I love your content and genuinely aspire to do what you do. I'm a recently qualified mechanic in the UK and I am soon to start working for Mercedes ( I know but the dealership owner also owns BMW so there is a plan here). I hope to eventually move into doing what you do, even on a smaller scale, and would never have dreamed it possible without the way you inspire us all. Fantastic work as always Sreten, Cheers!
Man I love this channel so much. You're an absolute genius and legend 😎 absolute proof that hard work pays off💪
So glad I finally got to this video. Sreten, you da' man! Your attention to detail, 13 days worth, is why your B7 fired right up and wasn't leaking. Today, I just noticed it came from here I live. At least in Texas, we do have 93 octane fuel.
One word.... BRAVO, I bow down too you, fairplay mate, excellent job, the only way is the right way👍
Wow didn't expect the episode to be that quickly! Amaizing hour long journey ahead of me :D
Congrats on the achievment Sreten! this was a reeealy big job for one person, that has never done this before, and with a car that's relatively uncommon, and with a bad reputation of being mechanically totaled around the age of that one...
It really does make a very interesting noise. Wish you all the best for the break in... And happy holidays!
SHE is Alive ! Loved it . I like how you love the cars and interest every punkt.Good Job Well done mate. RESPECT !
I swear I almost started tearing when you first started the engine(after tightening the ignition coil) and it idled so beautifully!
Well done sir!
I was so excited to hear the first engine start and see this build come together. Congrats, man!
Amazing job Sreten! You never fail to impress us, my friend. I don't think I've seen you as happy until seeing it startup and run very smoothly. Cheers from Boston, MA, USA
My god Sreten your a delight to watch this is pure Art, "legend has it Sreten was a brain surgeon in a previous life"
The Force is Strong with this One.
Well done Sreten. Like a proud Dad 🤣. Enjoy the rest and Holiday. Stay Blessed.
I feel that I am living the project with you as a part of my routine, bless you brother for saving those glorious BMW's
Chapeau! That's perfection as always. You're way above master level. And now, imagine all the disbelievers from Alpina who said "No, you can't do it" sitting there in front of their screens, watching this video and mumble "that old bastard, he freaking did it...." :D I hope you're enjoying your vacation, it's well deserved!
props to a proper enthusiast delivering that B7 another lease on life that will be a blast to drive…….cant wait to find my m3 v8 coupe…..!!!!
SRETEN I just want to tell you I worked at a European car shop and I have done several drivetrain swaps on 550 and 750 BMWs that use that engine and I know what a huge job it is and I wanted to tell you you did a fantastic job on that car! Your commitment to putting everything back correctly and properly is second to none! I'm proud of you for sticking with it and bringing her back to life when anybody else would have just trashed it. (Hoovie I'm looking at YOU!) ;) ENJOY your week earned vacation!!!! You deserve it! We ALL love ya and will be here waiting when you get back.
