Preen has been my secret weapon for the last few years for early spring cleanup of winter weeds. Got better results than spray applications of the same chemicals (3-way). Good stuff! Great video!

Apply now, the weather is all messed up. If using granular app I’d apply 60-90 after this one. But April 15th is a good target day also.

Roundup is fine in the winter but green up may be slow but never let your lawn get that bad apply a better pre emegent starting in late fall and winter to battle winter and spring weeds

BYD, I found the imaziquin in the image product had a little overspray (my fault) and damaged a bunch of shrubs. I stopped using it after replacing a bunch of landscaping!

Hey Byd I was thinking of mixing 2 together image and ortho weed b gon in a tank with surfactant..I got alot of weeds to fight..what you think?
KING REED , me personally I would not blanket spray 2 weed killer for lawns over entire lawn, I’d spray one and use the other ( image ) to spot spray the weeds it states it kills. Now I did spray entire lawn with image and used a granular over entire yard but it’s my belief the granular is not as aggressive as the liquids. But if you decide to do it , make sure it’s dormant and do a small test area. Experiment 🧪 sometimes is the best teacher.

If it’s weed infested cut and bag while cutting a couple day before.if it’s not to bad, no need to cut just apply according to directions. I’d wait a week or so to cut after application.

Looks and sounds like a great product.....unfortunately, it is not available in Texas, so I am out! I will follow your lead and put down some pre-emergent and Image. Luckily for me, my POA is not as bad as last year. I only have a few spots like you.

@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I got pounded with broadleaf this year....more than any other year. Of course, we have had almost summer weather here. We are sitting at 32-48 today with rain and last week we were sitting at 70 degrees. We've got drizzles at the moment, but we will be clear this weekend. I plan on dropping image and pre-emerg when the sun comes out. Thanks for the video!

Lesly Cadet I’ve thought about it, but I’ll be real with, it’s a lot of weeds I still don’t know what they are 🤷🏾♂️, I’m still studying that aspect of this. Most of the time I’ll get really familiar with the ones I know most people have issues with like the Crab Grass, DallisGrass, spurge, POA, bittercrest , Dollar weed, clover. That’s why when I do a video about weed control I try to include the most common weeds. But check out Jason Creel. He has multitudes of video on that topic.👍🏾

pvm ace you can apply same day on dormant Bermuda, preen 6 weeks, not sure a Round up for lawns reseed time but if you google it you can find it there

BYD i applied preen to my lawn today. I watered it like the directions said but i noticed not much was sticking to the weeds. so my question is will it still work once the granular dissolves and is absorbed to the soil?
Hello BYD, I need advice on eradicating grubs in my front lawn. I live in Houston and I'm not at all sure if your neck of the woods have the same weather type as myself. I noticed some areas that were really spongey, hard to walk on and hay colored, of course the grass was dead in those areas. I used 'the Googler' to try to determine what this could possibly be. After putting 2 and 2 together I came up with it being a grub infestation. Any words of wisdom?
Smoothie Health I’d dig up a spot to actually see if it is that. They have insecticide you can apply for this but you really dont know. But if you think 🤔it’s that you can apply a grub ex by Scotts and see if it works. But without knowing exactly your shooting dice 🎲 in the wind 💨. But id put my lawn on an insect control program to prevent other bugs 🐛 from affecting my lawn 🌱

It's July 2024 in southern Indiana. Weeds are loving my lawn. I spread Preen a few weeks ago, watered the whole bit. Was I too late? Can I run it again?

It’s not a pre emergent it is strictly to kill current weeds.
Got a break in rain earlier today about 10 min ago, lol, to take a look at the weeds in my yard. And the Bermuda is starting to green up! Is is still safe to to treat existing weeds with Image without killing the grass now?

I just had my backyard scraped of all the weeds, graded and topsoil added. I don't want any weeds to start to grow before I can lay my sod down in the next couple of weeks. So I bought the Preen bucket of granular weed control and sprinkled it on top of the topsoil. Will this help with controlling the weeds? BTW I'm in South Texas.
Moneelovesglam yes it may but I’d ask who ever you are getting the sod from if that was ok to do. It’s not gonna stop 🛑 any weed seeds from germinating though

Moneelovesglam one of your issues is you are installing new sod. It’s recommended not to apply a pre emergent for the first year because it could affect the root growth.

Yes, on dormant Bermuda you can, just apply accounting to directions

Before or after but I’d recommend before.

K Yvonne very, one way to find out what type of grass you have is to ask your neighbors, more than likely you all have the same type. If that doesn’t work. Dig up a 4 inch by 4 inch piece and take it to your local agriculture extension office, the agent on duty should be able to help. 😀👍🏾

Sam I highly recommend against that. Even though it says it kills off the green. The effects or dormant Bermuda grass could be stunted growth, late green up. Even root damage. Not a practice I’d recommend, but if you must, find an area of lawn that’s not noticeable and experiment 🧪, but I’m not recommended that 👍🏾
Should have just used roundup and you need to start applying in August and use dimension or spectacle
Evan Fugle as I stated before in a video I did on the effects of using glyphosate on a dormant Bermuda lawn, I highly recommended you Don’t. One is stunted growth and late green up. The other two pre emergents you names are great but the Average homeowner won’t pay those prices. Jason Creel did exactly what you said and had issues with his lawn after that. That idea sounds great and some golf courses practice that. Plus weather conditions can change any pre emergent results. The market is now moving away from glyphosate as a lawn weed killer for many reason. Now to use glyphosate to kill weeds in beds or curb cracks yes. But to blanket spray my entire lawn with it, NO. 👍🏾

2019 I used prodiamine every 3 months. My yard isn’t weed free but it’s way better than previous years. What temperature should it be before I apply fertilizer?

Good question. In my experiences I’ve applied in 20 degree weather . If rain water absorbs then the temps may not matter, but you’ll have to experiment 🧪 with you lawn to find out
You can use prodiamine 65 WDG every 6 months. Google Prodiamine calculator from Grass Daddy. Like March and September. Then use dithiopyr liquid in late April and mid November. Won't see any grassy weeds. You will still need broadleaf weed pre emergent, like Bioadvanced 3 in 1, in April and October.

Princeful2000 Chuku I cant recommend you killing off the whole lawn. But I’d try a blanket spray if weed kill for lawns, get on a pre emergent program, bag your lawn each cut with mower . Spot treat the Dallis with spectracide weed and grass killer while lawn is dormant during winter dormancy. This problem won’t resolve your issue over night though. 2nd option is to call a True Green company and work with them. Dallisgrass is annual meaning it keeps coming back and the seeds also germinate. Hopes this helps.🤷🏾♂️

Does it have to be a minimum temperature in order to spray Image? How many days AFTER rain should i wait to spray it on weeds? (heavy poa annua)
50 or higher but if you getting it now, apply now, you may need a second app though with consistent low temps.
I just blanket sprayed my backyard with IMAGE and it rained a lot last night. I put a little baby shampoo in there to help it stick.
