You have to love Alestorm for not trying to change up their sound or claim they've "matured". They hold true to what their band means and stands for. There's few things worse than a band shitting over the meaning of their band and their back catalogue. These guys are knocking it out of the park with the two new tracks, can't wait to hear the full album.
Lorcan Ward actually their music has gotten a lot more complex over the years. just look at death throws of the terror squid and battle of cartagena to see it.
I never said anything about songwriting. I'm talking about their core sound & style and how they've stayed true to it.
If anything they've got less mature (not complaining). The 1st and 2nd albums were a lot more mature songwriting than 3 4 and probably this. Then again they also have a song about not having any new material for new songs so :P
