Honestly, in all the musical genre's i've learned about i never thought "Pirate Metal" would ever even exist let alone become one of my favorite subgenre's of metal

Once I was at an Alestorm concert, circa 2017, when I was 19 at the Hellfest, France.
Never seen such an ambiance and energy in a crowd.
At first a man pissed in a watergun and fired it out all over. Then we drank lots and sang much, before all go down in the mud, mimicking the endless rowing of our pirate ancestors.
I don't quite recall how it did end up as boose and mead troubled my memory.
Trully, a shaping experience. I will never forget. Thanks lads.
