OK poll time: What's a better 80's metal band name, "Metalbeast" or "Steel Werewolf"?
Metalbeast!

“Our Captain America program failed ...you at least owe me a Werewolf by Night.”
Comic nerd mind explodes ... ☠️☠️☠️
Nah, I'm pretty sure those explosions were the gamma bombs needed to create the Hulk.
Bound to be better than the Man-Thing movie.
@@lizardlord4k that make me think of how awesome a MAN-BAT batman movie would be! hopefully made in turkey
Funny thing about werewolf by night is that the main character was named Jack Russell like the terrier.
@@lizardlord4k Say what? There's a MAN-THING movie?!? (Quickly checks IMDB) JOYYY!
Just when I start to despair that I've seen every crappy old movie known to man (& woman), lo & behold, there's a few MOA* "in the bowl" (ewwww). LoLoLoL
(*Kiwi slang for "more" ☺️)
"It's a new Brandon Tenold review."
Sindel: "Too bad YOU... will be flagged."
Too bad YOU... Didn't Subscribe! lol
Kind of a shame they didn't do more with this. A werewolf supersoldier with metal skin sounds promising.
Yep wish it was longer so it could have expanded on the whole premise
So he(or she?) Could be defeated by a dog whistle and a magnet? Perhaps a Monster Magnet.🎉
"Helen Keller vs werewolves" is that a real thing?!
OMG! Google says yes!
Best news I've heard all day
It is, but boy is it terrible.
@@SwiftNimblefoot gotta be very intoxicated to watch
Helen Keller was a God dammed witch
You think that's something, Barry Bostwick played Franklin Roosevelt in a movie called "FDR: American Badass."
Project MetalBeast sounds like the title for a late 1990s PS1 game that would appear on AVGN.
There was a "Project Metal Storm" on nintendo
lol sega cd
There was a 90ies game called Metal Mutant....
Aaaasssssss
It's called Ultered Beast
"Trapped in Tape" sounds like an awesome genre.
I believe it’s called ‘Bondage’
Pretty sure that happened to Yugi Muto's grandfather
Helen Keller vs. The Night Wolves sounds like a title best suited for the genre if it was one.
Project Rubberbeast:
Balloon Animal Overload
That actress is never going to live down Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
Annihilation
Mate, that's the game, not the movie.
I remember having a friend who was late to the MK mania of the 90s. He made sure to watch MK2 on opening night and came to school trying to be all cool n shit, wearing the shirt and everything lol. No one cared, lol, MK mania was over and everyone knew it would be a cash grab pile o garbage .
@@Mateus_Carvalho 😂😂😂
@@Mateus_Carvalho Pardon me.
I would like to see a remake of Project MetalBeast directed by the guy who made Dog Soldiers, who's with me?
Totally with you on that, and it needs to take place with more soldiers, definitely in a small town for more room, can definitely see the metal werewolf as an alpha to normal, lesser werewolves not enhanced.
Metalbeast: "Nanomachines, son!"
There a movie called Helen Keller vs Nightwolves?
* watches trailer *
I can't believe someone made this. 😆😆
Same people who made FDR, american badass, where FDR fights werewolf nazis in a wheelchair.
Hell, Sky Sharks exists.
You heard that right. Sharks that fly. :/
This sounds and looks like a SegaCD game.
At least they had a scientist lesbian couple, even tho we didn't get no action between them
Imagine if the werewolf was the end result of Reverend Lowe's transformation
A movie about cyborg werewolves would be awesome if it had a bigger budget.
I'm just surprised nobody's made one.
How about a movie about a guy who had the ability to resurrect continuously regardless of mortal injuries aka Ajin: Demi-Human (2017, live action)?
Or mutant space ninjas (aka Gatchaman, 2013, live action movie)?
@@sigmacademy The first one sounds a bit like "Officer Downe". He's a policeman that can be brought back to life every time he dies.
And the 2013 Gatchaman was pretty disappointing.
It's not a cyborg.
"Balloon animal soldiers" - love it! 👍😅👍
Funny enough with the Guyver : Dark Hero mention. The actor who played the lead in that is David Hayter, who is well known for the voice role of Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid fame. And the title of this film used the same font as Metal Gear Solid game series.
"we did that with crack...you can't do that with this?" LOL!!!!
"It's very easy to make fun of this actress."
Yes. It is. ☺
MK Annihilation has that effect on people. Except Robin Shou for some reason.
@@Mateus_Carvalho We recent discovered that MK Annihilation is a damned workprint! That's why the CGI is so awful. The producers screened the workprint and got a huge response to it, so they decided to just release the movie as was, instead of... you know, finishing it.
@@ConstantineFurman 90s corporate green
On the 'cute couple'., they honestly do. If I had just seen those two scenes out of context, I would honestly think I was watching some cute lesbian romance, not a movie about a cyborg werewolf :=). Though, to be fair 'cyborg lesbian werewolves' also sounds like a fun movie :=)
The title of this one is as that one Strong Bad Email put it - "So Direct to Video it hurts."
This Metalbeast looks more like a possessed Sonic. 😆
Musetta was also the primo character in Oblivion and a giant praying Mantis in one of the first season of Buffy Episodes.
Oh yes, Musetta was a large part of what made Oblivion so good.
The MK actress name is Musetta Vander. I got a chance to meet her back in the 90s when I went to a premiere of an also direct to video movie called Oblivion. She was very nice and even took a picture with me.
She's quite good actually. I saw her int he Oblivion movies by Full Moon and quite liked her performance there too. It's pretty obvious that MK was intentionally over-the-top. Sindel was acted with this sort of manic glee... and it totally fit the movie.
@@marhawkman303 She was in 3rd season of Dexter, she plays the wife of Jimmy Smits's character. I think she just couldn't give a shit about MK, much like rest of the cast. I mean, Sandra Hess is usually also descent but in MK you could she didn't really wanna be there.
@@njmfff Enh... that's not the impression I had. I got the impression Musetta was just havign fun playing a silly role.
Early '80s footage quality four years after T2. That might have contributed to this movie's lackluster performance.
I ship the two leading ladies together. Until I'm proven wrong I am going with the fact they banged when the camera cut to black.
There are a few spots in their conversations that have a relationship undertone between them.
I'll also go down with this ship
"Project metal wolf". Sounds like a metalgear game but they replaced the metalgear with a cyborg werewolf.
So a metal gear game starring bladewolf?
I don't know I've never played any of those games, also who's blade wolf?
More like Metal Wolf Chaos (look it up, it’s hilarious), he totally missed the opportunity to make a joke with that.
That reminds of that one time Contra had a cyborg werewolf with a "Vulcan Cannon" (AKA a Mini-Minigun) arm, psychic powers, a shockwave punch, and shades.
Because 90's.
That MK clip of Sindel just cracks me up every time!
Whenever Brandon teases a Godzilla review I get hyped like a Godzilla thon from 90s TNT.
I miss those marathons.
Fun Fact: The actor who played Butler (John Marzilli) was a main baddie for half a series on The Secret World of Alex Mack, which Hodder also did a few stunt work on.
Alex Mack, now that's a name I haven't heard a lot.
I remember the VHS cover looking like an 80's metal album cover.
A cyborg werewolf movie without any killer instinct jokes. I admire your restraint.
16:15 Come on Brandon you missed a perfect opportunity to put in Kong's roar too!
Yeah, that's a bit disappointing. Granted, it's more Godzilla film than King Kong film, but yeah, he really should have included Kong's roar.
She was also Mrs French in Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 1. Best acting she ever did.
Who remembers Werewolf the old tv series from 87? That was actually pretty good. You should review the series, Brandon.
Obligatory "Is this a weapon to surpass Metal Gear?" :D
Also, I can't see barry Bostwick without seeing his portrayal of new-york's mayor...
There's a Pepsi commercial wherein the guy asks: "Who's Barry Bostwick?". 🤣
Man, the movie adaptation of Metal Wolf Chaos is weird.
2:23 "No, please; take your time, Butler. I'm doing great over here".
I remember this movie when I was a kid. I thought it was cool but there were a few things about Bostwick’s character that confused me. How does a Colonel have authority over a general? Why exactly did he think the werewolf would be under his control? Why is he straightening his suit and hair while he’s getting thrashed by the metal beast?
According to movie logic, the answer is YES to all those questions? :P
"Why is he straightening his suit and hair while he’s getting thrashed by the metal beast?" I think it's just bit of character trait, because he was rich military dude who was always in control, so when he gets trashed by a werewolf, he acts like it doesn't bother him. It's kinda like how Gus from Breaking Bad fixes his suit right after being blown up.
It disappointed me my favorite concept for a werewolf enhancement wasn’t handled the best.
This movie needs a remake with nanotechnology being the reason he has metal skin. Given story writing today, not only could it work, but it could also be beefed up into a dog soldiers style movie with far more intense stakes.
Saw this back in the day when late night TNT was a thing.
Killer doll + werewolf = killer werewolf doll? Like the doll from the Munsters.
The closest I can think of is the Frank Langella voiced leader of the monster toys in Small Soldiers. He at least looked like a werewolf.
7:57 oh good, that’s what people needed to watch Godzilla’s revenge, thanks for bringing it early
Squeals with Joy! I have been waiting for this one! I remember Seeing this on Joe Bob Briggs Monster Vision
Captain America Joke
Werewolf by night joke.
If only you referenced that time Capt America was a Werewolf
He Fought Star Wolf...
Also a great name for a metal band.
11:39 He’ll kill all of us! Brandon: Let’s hope so, there’s only 15 minutes left”. Cold Brandon but that is why we’re here😂
I remember seeing the second half of this on tv when o was a kid, then spent years trying to figure out what it was till I found it on Amazon prime
Now, I want to watch "Helen Keller vs werewolves".
Don't... the effects are terrible and the jokes are all about poop.
I've loved this movie since I was a kid. Hell I watched it last week!
I can see potential in the idea of a cyber-werewolf. Someone definitely should do a movie or a game featuring it somewhere in the future.
There was a game with something like it all ready. Cyberwolf (wulf) in Killer Instinct. :P
A movie about a cyborg werewolf should never be boring or have wasted potential.
5:47, yes, exactly, and yes, it would be great to have lyrics.
I saw this movie and fell in love with the creature design thanks for bringing this movie to light
The title's font is almost exactly like the first Metal Gear Solid.
I thought the same thing when I saw it on demand.
Yep
That was likely a later addition, to try and cash in on MGS
It was probably intentional on the title card artist's part
I remember seeing a vhs copy on sale at a corner shop when I was young.
I actually remember this movie from when I was little, I remember not being the slight bit scared but I liked the look of the metal werewolf. And what's funny, I actually though (for some reason) that it was based on the NES game "Werewolf: The Last Warrior" just because that game had a werewolf with metal bladed T-1000 arms. Then I was disappointed because the whole movie I was waiting for the metal werewolf to somehow become some kind of superhero and fight all the bad military guys. XD
Maybe this could use a remake as cursed as that word is.
Remakes are not always shite, it depends on the intent of the makers. For example, the remake of The Fly with Jeff Goldblum is considered a bit of a horror classic and John Carpenters The Thing is also a remake
I do like the werewolf design, they even gave him digitigrade feet.
I would like if Brandon could review Color out of space.
Well, the is Battle Beast and Beast in Black. It's the closest we get to a metal band being named Metal Beast.
OHH, this is gonna be good. XD And I actually bought the "Blue Monkey" blu ray a few weeks ago when I was down at Forbidden Planet NYC, funny you mention that.
I'm Hoping Brandon points out that the text on some cases is the text from Metal Gear Solid...WHY?
Saw this on sci-fi years ago still a fan.
I have never even heard of this one. It looks pretty decent.
Next month: The Rematch of the Century
Ginger Snaps ? on the subject of overlooked werewolf films, I must bring up Ginger Snaps, a Canadian film from 2000.
One of 3, actually (the first one, its sequel and a prequel to the first film). Had hoped they would make a fourth to round out the open ending in the sequel, but it doesn't seem like that will ever happen. :/
@@sigmacademy Thanks for the info, I never knew they did a prequel for it.
Oddly enough, I remember watching this move on Syfy.
I’ve actually seen this and haven’t thought of it in a while. The entire skin plot point is all I remembers from it. Thanks man
"Hey, what's wrong with peanut butter and jelly for lunch?" If you're like my mom and have a severe peanut allergy, quite a lot
Project Metalbeast, I think, would also be a good title for a Battle Bots competition.
13:24 This is the weirdest ventriloquist show I have ever seen.
Boys listen up Godzilla vs Kong the fight we've been waiting for is almost here
"Blue Monkey got a High Def release." Huh, really?
Even though the movie itself had no werewolf transformations, I loved the Metalbeast from this movie. He’s so badass. ;)
Frankly, I did not recognize any of the other actors, but Musetta Vander? She has been one of my biggest crushes since I saw her in Wild Wild West :)
Btw, there was a badass video game called Metal Mutant in the 90ies where you played as a robot who could turn into a tank or a dinosaur... that was badass too.
I actually watched this when it came out, I'm vaguely remembering some scenes of bullets not penetrating. Either A my memory is flawed, or there is another cut with those scenes.
I heard about this!! Saw clips of this on Marvelous Videos Top 10 Underatted Werewolf movies.
How's it going Shaine 🤘😜🤘
@@adamofgrayskull7735 Pretty good so far. Brandon will doing more GODZILLA movies in honor of the upcoming GODZILLA VS KONG.
The title sounds like an actual Rock Band 🤣🤣🤣
@Pedro Sepulveda Link???
I actually like this flick. It's pretty sweet for a low budget monster movie.
I’m so glad you reviewed this, I messaged you about this movie last year lol
4:33, so much for nards! Lol!
6:15 I believe she was also one of the Sirens in O Brother Where Art Thou
...you are right... she also played in Stargate SG-1...
Sindel was really hot in this Sabrewulf-like movie
Cracking job as always!
Ngl that Metalbeast suit looks pretty badass
There is an evil Werewolf puppet in some of the later Puppet Master sequels. A scientist for the Reich makes some killer dolls to go against Toulon's puppets in the Axis of Evil movies.
I don't know if it's just me, but this didn't show up on my subscriptions or on the uploads for the page.
It's saying you posted that 9 hours ago, but the video was uploaded (or at least made public) 1 hour ago. 🤔
@Sammy Sure, but he didn't say he's a Patron.
@Sammy Do Patrons get notifications from CZcams for early access to videos, then? (Genuine question.)
You’re the best cult movie reviewer of all time Brandon!!!!!!
AGREED!
I remember they actually use to show this movie a lot on cable back in the late 90s late at night. I vividly remember watching it around 2/3am a few times.
"We're an hour in and we got the plot going that's what." 💀💀💀💀😬😬😬
Review aonther Horror monster movie call prophecy 1979 I Really Love this Movie place review
When's the next Godzilla movie review?
One of the Puppetmaster movies has a werewolf puppet.
Brandon we get to the point where I started to notice there's a lot of great movies back in the past. Awesome!!!!!!
Now I need to know if an evil werewolf puppet movie exists. Someone get Charles Band on the phone!
The Puppet Master Axis movies have a band of Nazi puppets, one is a Werewolf in a military uniform called Were-macht.
Oblivious McDeadmeat! What a name!
I remember seeing this on TNT's Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs.
Whole opening sequence looks like an fmv for a werewolf themed resident evil spin off
