    a bit confused about the episodic and the other thing, never heard that terminology

      Great question! In fetal heart rate monitoring, "periodic" means the decelerations are associated with uterine contractions. For example, early and late decelerations are periodic because they happen in response to contractions. "Episodic" means the decelerations are not related to contractions and can occur randomly. Variable decelerations can be either periodic or episodic, depending on whether they happen during contractions or independently. Hope this helps clear things up! 😊🩺
