      I think of life as a pair of balancing scales, if you reward yourself with great food, then you must punish yourself with heavy excercise or starve most of the day until you eat that 1 big pizza, to restore balance
      Weight gain occurs when people just shovel in the great food on the hour and just sit around or sleep, over an extended period of time, a couple of weeks or months of living a "fat lifestyle" will be noticeable
      One of the motto's im fond of says "you can eat like a champion, if you train like a champion"
      Theres no issue smashing £20 at mcdonalds, just be prepared to put fill your rucksack with sand and jog for a good 2 hours, if you dont want to gain weight that day.
      There is no pleasure in food without pain, that is the trade off, but very few want to do anything so they suffer obesity. No one cares, they just want another burger, sad world.

    When I was a kid in the 60s, fast foot was a treat. "Oh boy, we're going to McDonald's!!" Now fast food has become a staple.
    Also people are really stupid when it comes to fast food or even food in general. I work with a woman, a middle aged woman who is an idiot about food. One day she said that she was stopping at McDs to get dinner for the family because there was no food at home. I pointed out that she passed three grocery stores on her way home. "Don't have the money to shop." I pointed out that for the cost of four value meals she could feed her family for two or three days. She didn't understand that.

    • @berzerkbankie1342
      @berzerkbankie1342 Před 2 lety

      Just because it's bought in a grocery store, or prepared at home, does not automatically make it better for you. For $30 you're not really feeding a family of four anything great for more than one night from the grocery store. Plus then not only do you have to go shopping after work, you have to go home and cook the food.

    • @goldwinger5434
      @goldwinger5434 Před 2 lety +1

      @@berzerkbankie1342 You really don't know how to shop well, do you?
      Five pounds of boneless chicken at $1.99 per pound, $10. 5 lb of rice for $5. That leaves $15 and you can buy a ton of fresh veggies for $15. Not fancy but it will feed your family for more than one night and it is far better for you than anything that you can get at McDs.
      I just bought ten pounds of boneless pork chops at $1.49 per pound. With the aforementioned rice and veggies, that would feed a family of four for days.
      OMG, you have to cook the food. LOL. Anyone who knows their way around a kitchen can throw together a meal in about 30 minutes. You can't make soup from scratch but you can make a meal. I can grill you some pork chops, make rice pilaf, and steamed veggies in under 30 minutes.

    • @berzerkbankie1342
      @berzerkbankie1342 Před 2 lety +1

      @@goldwinger5434 so....you're gonna feed your family grilled chicken and white rice every night for dinner for a week? Your kids must love you.
      Also that's only feeding your family for one night unless you eat like birds. 5 pounds of chicken is supposed to last 4 people how long? Because that's about one meal for 4 people. You've also only further proved my point. Buying cheap food from the grocery store isn't the "better option" just because it comes from a grocery store. There's basically no difference between your chicken and a chicken nugget, it all comes from the same farm.
      Go back to the 1950s please

      @@berzerkbankie1342According to my dietician, five pounds of chicken should make 20 meals if served with vegetables and rice. We don't need as much meat as Americans like to consume. As for doing it every day, it is really any different that eating a cheeseburger everyday? However, when you're poor, you do what you have to do. Remember, try to focus, we're talking about better options for poor people.
      As for the difference between eating my chicken and McD's chicken? Surely you jest. Lower in sodium. Less fat., Vegetables. A lot better than McDs. How many obese Chinese people do you see?
      What does the 1950s have to do with this discussion?

      @@goldwinger5434 🙄 seriously? Your dietician? Just think about that for a second. Obviously you have weight issues so already you can't be unbiased in this scenario. 4 ounces of grilled chicken every night woohoo! Also who said anything about eating cheese burgers every night? Literally nobody. But you did say you feed your kids 4 ounces of chicken with white rice every night.
      There is very little difference between the chicken you buy at your local grocery store and the chicken from McDonald's. Like I said it all comes from the same farm. Honestly what do you think you are getting for 1.99$ a lb?
      If you have time to stop at the store after working all day then come home and prepare food for your family that's good for you but don't try to act like you are better than anyone because they don't.
