    I love the story of no greeting! Greetings from Uganda, East Africa, to both of you.

    Cape Tonians are generally slow. They probably greet you back after you've passed them and you don't notice.

    Lol Gauteng Runners for me are the friendliest 😅 Knysna & George runners I find to be warm....but I agree about the Cape Town Runners.
    I reside in KZN and they are lekke runners in general, especially the Afrikaans clubs on race days....but overall I agree about the CPT Runners, hence I just put my earphones on and focus on the road and enjoy the ocean view on the Promanade when im that side 😃

    I ran my first Comrades last year and used Oceans as my long run. Figured it was going to be a more enjoyable way to get the long run in. Until now, i hadnt considered the impact it'd make on my race. Still managed to finish with the 11:50 goal I set. Wondering now how it would've been if I hadn't. Oh well, that's for next year, seeing that I have already entered for Oceans again for my long run 😂
    Very interesting topics in the video. Thank you for the information.

      Was Oceans your only ultra prior to Comrades? Or was it your longest ultra?

    Insightful & nerve calming, thank you!
    I 'm on the RM programme, kindly advise if my strength training, on monday & Wednesday can be supplemented, esp now during base training or I should just carry on the schedule as is?

    My background is an elite triathlete. Ran my qualifier in December somewhat forced, a week after a bike crash with a broken arm and no specific marathon training, only ran early because the is fact that it is really the only marathon in my city. Didnt Force the effort and ran a 2:32 purely just to get my A seeding, only to find out a month aftetwards there is an elite cat that requires 2:29 which allows for personal aid at stations. Is it worth qualifying (only able to travel end of april) ? Goal is a wally hayward.

    Great advice on the seeding dilemma at around min 13 or so!

    I ran a 1 hour 37 min Johnson crane 21km a week ago (my second ever 21km)... I'm Running my qualifier this week Saturday joburg north marathon. As someone that's relatively new to running my mileage was high in Jan 345km which was prep for my first ever marathon rather then for comrades which as the title of this video suggests it's way too soon to be worrying about comrades, especially since I haven't qualified yet. Once I have a marathon time I can then decide which training plan to do depending that time and what a realistic goal for comrades would be.

    Hi everyone! I run the Amsterdam marathon but on someone else's number (could not substitute it). My time was 4:30, will it could as a qualifier?

    • @ComradesCoach
      @ComradesCoach  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi Willem, you’d have time to check that with the CMA but we’re pretty sure that won’t count as a qualifier as it’s not under your name.

    😂😂😂 a weight adjusted time? Lemme know how that goes mate, says this 55-year old 50 kilo (112lbs), 1.6 m (63" makes me sound taller 😊) Yank. Can I get an age adjustment?
