      But the airline is still the same old Air India. Nothing has changed and no comparison to Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad etc.
      Nothing will change much in our lifetime

      @@surpotel8016you cannot expect a turnaround within a year. It's a gradual process. Wait till 2025 and you'll see the real difference.

      @@Nightwing22k for a turnaround to occur the Indian mindset of the management, staff and passengers has to change. This is required if Air India wishes to be a global brand name. If not being a Desi Airline is fine for the majority of Desi travellers as most wipe their curry stained hands to the cushion seats on the aircraft. Desi passenger lack civic sense.

    Very good interview. I'm flying Air India to India on my next trip so will be interested to see how they compare to my past experience and particularly Vistara. Very pleased to hear they won't merge the brands until Air India is at Vistara's level.

    Current state of Air India is terrible, a friend took Chicago to Delhi flight and was shocked to see the condition of the seats, aircraft with all the wear and tear evident. If this is for an International flight, cant even think how worse it is for domestic. Hope their vision to change this reflects soon with newer planes delivering soon.

    Air India Is coming up good . But they need to be competitive. Especially, the ones like Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, and other European airlines, are offering flights, for example , from Bangalore to San Francisco. Premium economy if you compare direct flights of Air India, with other one stop flights, with lesser duration, are much cheaper!

    I am a frequent flier to sfo i use only singapore airlines or virgin atlantic i travel by business class from Bangalore. In the month of july some one told me to take air india. I tried .it was a rude shock. Only wider seat in business class i have paid rs 396000 rs round trip . No flat bed type 16hrs journey tiredsum. I could not sleep in sitting position. Food no choice . Toilets were chocked. . Very bitter experience. Baggage clearance was horrible, flight delayed by an hour. In quite contrast in very next fortnight i travelled by JAL Business class paid rs 268000 for business class round trip. Very excellent fully flat bed good food . Pre orderered my choice. Air india serves food according to their choice no pre order choice. I never travel by airindia which is meant for north Indians only. Horrible service.

      Look man, it's quiet simple, supply and demand, competition, etc.. plays a role in it. In India, the dominant airlines are Indigo and Air India. And when you compare this scenario with European, Middle East, and many other markets, you will notice that there is a heavy competition for the routes you mentioned, hence low price. However, there are chances that this might change.

    AIR INDIA ;
    SHOULD FLY INTO EACH AND EVERY Big and the smallest nations;
    and make presence felt;
    be it ;
    Business; Tourism; pleasure;
    Indians are flying into every nation;
    so let them be happy and proud;
    but they need to be disciplined with DISCLIMER;
    to use and keep the aircraft clean;
    especially the toilets; dry/clean
    The passage/corridor should be free to walk through...
    3/Hauling the Carry on bag above;
    4/Not try to RUSH pushing other
    But in sequence ROW by Row. Total discipline/training needed.
    5/Frequest litter often so while vacating the aircraft the aircraft should be SPIC and Span.clean.
    smell Good;
    EDUCTE THE PEOPLE. STRICTLY.

    Quite doubtfull if Tatas can do their magic with Air India. The livery tail design is not the greatest atleast seeing in the video. I still dont think India understand customer service especially when it comes to how to make a customer feel the warmth and the upper tiers feel luxury. This is tangible in many sectors because there are only a few who get it.

    New airplane will make the real difference. As of now I find it expensive to fly from Toronto to Mumbai in Air India old plane. Direct flight from Toronto to Mumbai will also make huge impact in this route as I would not prefer going to Delhi and then take a Domestic connecting flight where I have an option of taking Emirates and change my connecting flight in Dubai. Air India should also fly A380 which is a better flight in terms of comfort. Hope for the best Air India.

      Yes , totally agree..I also prefer to fly to Middle East and then to Kochi, I would fly to Bangalore if they start direct ones, (I dont think Kochi will ever have direct flights), but not to Delhi, since it takes close to 3 hr flight to Kochi, and flight from ME takes 4 hr..

    We had huge expectations from Air India after TATA took ownership. But what do we get????
    Broken armrests???? Seat Screen not working???? Really bad food quality???? Staff disrespecting passengers??? I’m willing to pay more to Qatar Airways/Emirates in return of good service, rather than Air India with bad service.
    I’m not gonna blame TATA for this because my experience in Vistara was really good.

    Hate the livery ..ham brained work of an intern who woke up the day of the grand reveal and put it all together in the back seat of a cab. Could have looked at ITA airways l, American Airlines, and Etihad as inspiration of something classynand subtle...this new Air India livery is anything but classy. Going white for 90% of the aircraft is not a change...infact the Vistas concept is so disconnected from the Centaur and Swan which was so central to the design. The Air India font also looks like someone designed it in playschool
