Rock bottom for STL was when they let Wainwright chase 200 while being the worst pitcher in the league. Cool moment when it finally happened but it really let you know Cardinals did not care about winning last year.

That doesn't bother me in the least. They were a garbage team anyway so letting him chase that record might have been the only thing to keep any interest.

Me and my dad are lifelong Cardinals fans! He was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer two years ago. I moved back home to help take care of him.We have watched every Cardinals game the last 2 years and I just feel like I’m cursed. The one thing he enjoys anymore is watching the Cardinals but it just sucks to see the owners all the way down to the players fail miserably! Please play better Cardinals my dad doesn’t have but a couple months left and it would make him happy again.
Big heat, the obvious question with guys like this is how long can Skenes do it without blowing out his arm? I'm an old Cubs fan recalling Mark Prior and Kerry Wood.

Ken I'm with you on Skenes meaning business by putting himself together with a suit. These young kids should take notes, always dressing so sloppily thinking that first impressions doesn't make a difference.
The young kids should focus on making a good impression as people, not with wearing some stupid suit. Even Hitler can put a suit on.
I think we'll have a more active deadline than last year. More sellers emerging this year IMO

@@RojoCube Right. They can't keep Skenes. That is how it works in small market teams. But it doesn't mean they can't win more consistently. Cleveland and Tampa use two seperate approaches, but they have been prerty successful. The Pirates? Not. They can do better, but they can't extend Skenes into his late 30s.

Yeah. They are required to wear the team uniform. It's in the Official MLB Rule Book. I think it's rule 3.03.
apparently, I'm the only person on earth who is not surprised at the Cardinals lack of winning this year. Skenes is the next big TJ victim. Gatorade is sticky if it dries on you.
No take on the Willson Contreras injury and the proliferation of catchers interference calls!? I used to be opposed to going to an automated strike zone but I absolutely think it’s necessary now to protect catchers. I can’t wait until catchers can go back to practicing defense and stop worrying about pitch framing!
Extending Marmol after last season was crazy to me. You finish twenty games under .500 and he gets an extension?
Goldy has always been a streaky hitter but this is something else. Spring training means nothing to me but when a guy struggles like he did in spring and now 40 games in, that's more than just struggling.

Cardinals fans have been spoiled for decades, they never had to wait 108 years to win a World Series.

Cardinal fans are accustomed to competent leadership. They are not getting that and they are rightfully upset. I have always considered them one of the finest organizations in American sports. Unlike some other places like Boston and Chicago. I mean, can you imagine being a Cubs fan? Holy crap.
Ken, invest in some commercial fishermen slickers, bibs, and boots.😄 Or ask your camara crew to drain out the gatorade jugs in the 9th inning by passing out free cupfuls to fans in the stands.

This is what happens when a club goes full bore into the "Moneyball Philosophy" and "Three Outcome Batting Philosophy". Ballpark Village was the worst thing to happen to the Cardinals as that became the main focus for the owners.

4IP, 6H and 3ER is a great debut? Skenes has great stuff, but going only four innings is not that impressive. Why wasn't he extended in spring training and the minor leagues? There is no guarantee on limiting pitches and innings that will keep them healthy.

He calls it a splinker. Only other pitcher I’ve heard of who uses that term is Jhoan Duran of the Twins…his is even harder than Skenes he throws it 97-100 off of his 100-103 four-seamer.
The Cardinals have a hard time judging talent that's obvious. Letting guys like Adolis Garcia and Randy Arazorena go but holding on to guys like Lars Nootbar and Dylan Carlson like they're made of gold is suspect talent evaluation. I'm tired of hearing how great Carlson and Nootbar are when the on field performance doesn't back it up. Neither one of those two can stay on the field anyway they're always hurt but when they play it's blah.

Ken. How about swapping out your suit coat for a wind breaker of the channel your interviewing for (ie Fox, CBS etc) when you are about to do the interview? You can scotch guard it. And wear pants that are washable. You'll look professional if not as stylish and save a bundle on cleaning and new suits. Be proactive.

NL central def not as strong as NA west which consist of LA dogers and 3 stooges , NL east which consist of Phillies and 2.5 stooges (are half good )

As far as Skenes, rhe Pirates wasted most of his dominant performances in the minors.
He was okay in his debut. Radar gun readings.arent what they used to be and not to be trusted in the parks.
Skenes wasn't properly prepared to throw much more than 5 or y innings at most. This is a GenZ Baseball debut at its most disappointing.

You're missing a couple. Almonte was the 13th Cub to hit the IL this season.
Your list of Cubs IL is barely longer than the list of starting pitchers injured for the Dodgers (Shohei, Gonsolin, Hurts, May, Sheehan, Miller, Kershaw, and Buehler but he just came back), let alone additional Dodgers position players and relievers being injured as well. Get in line, pal.
Must admit their win yesterdays is not very encouraging considering they played pretty badly in that game.
