Great content as always from Rosenthal, professional response by Braun to the “mason miller” callout
the geeky “baseball the way it should be covered” at the end just slays me
As a Cardinals fan, I hope they trade Helsley. With Willson Contreras down - it’s over, we’re finished. Time to rebuild
As a Phillies fan, we'll take him
I hate to admit it but that's what it looks like. It's unbelievable how few runs that team scores. Even when the pitching is good, the (lack of) offense is usually terrible. It sounds like Contreras won't be back until the All-Star Break, maybe a little bit earlier. If the Cards are way out at that time, we may see a bit of selling.
As an orioles fan, we have plenty of talent on our farm.
As an O's fan ... who do you want who's not named Jackson Holliday or Coby Mayo?
Crazy part is they were predicted to win the central and well I had them finishing last yet again
Spencer Steer to the Mariners
I think if the royals stay in contention they will push hard for mason miller or Helsley
Callout for early trades plz! So many teams are hoping to sneak in as a wildcard. Acquire players earlier to add wins. Could be the difference between 82 and 86 wins
3:02 Blue Jays really blew it, when they let Anthopoulos go.
agreed 1000%
It was his decision
@@leam89Only because he refused to work under the failed system & approach incoming 🙄 Should have NEVER hired Shapiro g incompetent gm Atkins smh
@@leam89 IIRC, which I might not, didn't they want to hire a PoBO above him? If so, then it really wasn't his decision.
@@MikeD_ I can't say I know what most of your comment means but either way it was his decision
Blue Jays don't improve by trade deadline? Blue Jays have fire sale and begin rebuild. Not convinced Houston will be selling regardless.
If they have (Blue Jays) have to trade Bichette, another GM has to do it, how can the ownership group trust that SHITKINS is gonna make a smart decision, all the guy does is fluke out his results, Jays should of kept AA, this has been a disaster of a "rebuild",
AA left like 8 years ago of his choice. Fans got to move on and get over it at some point. Shapiro is not likely going anywhere. He's been handling the renos and that's been a success. I agree Atkins has to be fired but I will say their issues this season are largely the players underperforming. If the first three hitters were hitting they would be winning. But they could have used another bat in the off season. The bullpen imploding is not on Atkins. They went into the season with one of the best pitching staffs in baseball
@@leam89ROFLMAO😂
Shhhhh stop embarrassing yourself... you don't know as much as you apparently believe you do 🙄
Atkins is 100% responsible for this YEARS LONG debacle & nothing changes until he is gone Period Full Stop!!!
Don't have the time to explain to you intangibles, good roster construction, trying to change successful batters (with league mvp votes) long successful swing by having them hit off low tees because math says launch angle is better (clearly by results a horrid & damaging move), arrogance in refusing to accept your approach is a flawed failure & addressing it etc etc.
Do have the time to explain Alex Anthopoulus only left after Shapiro was hired to head up renovations in Florida & Toronto, because his approach to baseball operations is well known & not well thought of in mlb... so he refused to be associated with EXACTLY the failure & debacle that has been snowballing downhill to this point for YEARS! Ugh
Regardless, what matters is this destruction of the franchise, that if Atkins is allowed to continue will set it back over a decade, & won't likely get a 3rd shot at success & record breaking attendance if rogers allows him to continue & does not act sooner rather than later ;o)
Anyway...Renovations are done & so is Shapiro's guy Atkins!
Only question is will it be in time, before he can burn it completely to the ground 🤦
If Bo Bichette became available the braves would swoop in for him
@@stevengarrison1019 what would they give up? Don't they have a crummy farm system
@@leam89 I could see him on another contender like the cubs or brewers
Bo Bichette is not a shortstop. Cmon.
EXACTLY!!
Thank you ugh... 2nd baseman & not a team player so refuses to change position 🙄
Sadly Atkins incompetence & pandering to him stopped them making a trade before the illusion was broken smh
He was good at short last season with only 8 errors and 5 DRS
not what Mason Miller said
Cardinals are selling
Verlander to the Braves. It would be awsome with having the Mets pay for most of his salary.
If he wants to win Braves arent the team for him
How old is he now 67?
@@jerrypedrick6206 even if they got him. They won't win. Braves aren't built for the playoff format
@@stevengarrison1019 Atlanta won the World Series in 2021. They have a ton of talent and have a legitimate chance to win it all.
@@StopSayingLiterally they aren't built to win in this playoff format
If Blue Jays go re-build, fire Shapiro and Atkins! Can’t trust these two dummies to acquire the right talent. Jays minor leagues have no stars coming up. These guys are horrible and should’ve been fired a couple seasons ago.
Cubs looking for relief help
Aroldis Chapman.
The mere thought of the dodgers obtaining a “Bo Bichette” makes me sick. I can’t with that team anymore
Drives me fucking insane.
Like how the hell do they have anyone in the farm much less all these studs that keep popping up
Ken appreciation comment
The Dodgers should go ALL OUT for Arenado. We consistently have top prospects that are useful to other ballclubs (currently Busch for the Cubs, Verdugo for Yankees and Calhoun for the Angels just to name a few). 3 of our top 10 prospects and Max Muncy should be a go for the non-competitive Cards.
Jesus christ yall already have everybody and the kitchen sink you phyco
The Dodgers have no real need for Arenado. If you've been watching the games, you'll know that Muncy has been outstanding at third base. You don't try to fix what isn't broken, especially with the kind of overpay you're suggesting.
Gleyber Torres?
I doubt the Yankees will trade him, but he has been very disappointing. I don’t know what the market would be for him though.
Nobody wants him 😅
If we can get a Gatorade bottle out of it it would be nice
Trade rumors in early May?
Yea do you want them to spell it to you!!
What do you expect when half the league doesn’t care anyways
@@adamNDkipker what? halfway through the video Ken R admits its to early to determine buyers and sellers and there are no rumors.
there are no trade rumors today, Ken R admits that half way through video
The writing is on the wall though for Astros Cardinals def white Sox Rockies marlins angles
I said the day we signed Kimbrel it was till July 31. K Law says Mayo and Bradfield for M Miller. No way Os do that
Agree...if there is anyone in the minors who is untouchable, it's Mayo. And Miller is going to get hurt, just watch. He's already been hurt twice, a shoulder and a UCL.
I wouldn't think the O's would do that. An I'd be surprised if the A's wouldn't want more even. I doubt Miller even gets traded because their price is going to be so ridiculously high no team will meet it.
Is Trout getting traded soon
Bro injured again, he ain't getting traded
@@jeremyzamora8398
Dang I was hoping!
He’ll be getting traded to an early retirement at this rate
No another injury to an extremely talented player who is injured to much.
Nobody wants Trout 😮😢
The Cards will be open for business at the rate my clown team is going.
But the Sonny Grey signing looks great. Twins are always bailing on success.
Really he just got rocked by brewers last night since 2022 anything cardinals touch is terrible goes before that but still
Goldschmidt could be on the move as a payroll dump.
The entire team is bad, they won't get much unless they pay some salary
As an Astros fan since the Colt 45 days, it’s time to tear it down. It was a great run. I’ll never forget it. Best ever in my lifetime.
The Astros haven’t played my Angels yet. That should be at least 7 wins there :/
Great run of of cheating
Still think it’s too early to call it season over, especially with the expanded playoffs. Even if it turns out to be a down year, you’re not rebuilding, at worst Astros trade their pending FA’s like Bregman and Pressley
M’s will trade JRod and Emerson Hancock for Yordan
@@golfmaniac007 Considering both Yordan and J-Rod have signed extensions with their current team, I can promise you that ain’t happening.
Not to mention Yordan is one of the best hitters in the league and JRod is about 1-2 years away from being classified as a major bust.
Boston fire sale 🔥
Hardly Boston is improving just needs a few bats
They are 3rd in a hard division
Cleveland's Clase would be an excellent addition to Baltimore as well .
Why would Cleveland trade him?
Wilson contreas to the padres
Nolan arenado to the royals
Verlander to the cubs
Mozeliak and Marmol still employed something doesn’t smell right
Ken needs to slow it down
I hope the Dodgers re sign Teo Hernandez, and keep Chris Taylor hes in a slump ..i believe in him 🙏 💪🏼
A slump??? That's like calling Mount Everest a mole hill.
CT3 is the weakest link on the dodger. Behind Gavin lux and Outmen
@MichaelPascoe-ru3rr everyone can't hit vs San Diego if that's the case
@@robertohernandez2258 just seems he can’t hit anywhere. He walks up to the plate it’s a for sure out it seems. 🤷♂️
Basically the whole Marlins roster.
They keep jazz
Phillies got get Trout!
We technically have an opening for him.
That depends if he's healthy though!
Phils batting order with Trout
1.Schwarber DH L
2.Turner SS R
3.Harper 1B L
4.Trout CF R
5.Bohm 3B R
6.Marsh LF L
7.Realmuto C R
8.Stott 2B L
9.Castellanos RF R
I hate batting Castellanos 9th because he's not the greatest contact hitter (he's a power hitter) which isnt great when its ideal to have people on base when the order turns back over however with the way Marsh & Bohm are swinging it they earned to bat 5th and 6th there. Realmuto is having a solid year but when the lineup is this deep this is what happens!
Maybe wouldnt take too much to get Trout.. maybe 1 top prospect to go along with Rojas?🤔🤔🤔
EDIT
P.S on another end...I doubt Trout gets traded though... and it may not be wise to acquire him. Torn Meniscus takes 6 months tops to heal give or take. That means a November return... and even if hes superman September or October? We would need him with us sooner(atleast late August max) to start building that chemistry within the lineup. And that means DH which means Schwarber gotta take the field which takes away from your defense...May not be wise afterall! Oof... I forgot it was a meniscus tear.
News flash Trout is injured
As a phillies fan , I love Trout but that ship has sailed. He signed that contract & doesn't wanna leave
I want to see Trout to the Dodgers
Hell yeah.
Trout & Rendon
=> Both injury prone 😮
Their illness will negatively impact Shohei 😢
That is why Shohei left the Angles 😂
@@GHKim-bo9mf true that
If it ain't broke......
Justin Verlander to Dodgers. Ben would be ecstatic.
Justin is old weak😮
=> Ancient history 😢
; Unnecessary player😅
Does this channel have a producer? Ken Rosenthal's audio is so uneven in this segment and always much lower than the other contributors that the end product is similar to a sandlot baseball game... goofy!
Cardinals will do nothing no matter how far out they are! Dewitts do not care about this team or the fans!
Jackson Holiday to the Cardinals.
Yeah right if they pulled that off I’d be literally shocked… they’d have to give up a ton
@@boschlosser10 To get a player like Nolan Arenado with 3 years left who's a gold glover? No.. The Cardinals would get him and one to two other players
Keep dreaming spaceboy
Ahahaha
@@giovannilaurenti5066arenando is done ...orioles are stacked they will not trade for garbage
The Yankees need Mason Miller. Probably won't give up what Oakland would want in return
Nobody is getting Mason. A's trade players they have to pay $$$, they aren't paying anything to Mason, they will wait.
Every team needs Mason
The Yankees aren't going to move players like Dominguez, Jones, Warren, etc. to get a closer who has all of 16 innings pitched this year, yet there's no way Oakland will move him unless they get a fortune. Normally, I'd criticize the A's for dumping yet another player, yet in this case I think they should see what deal they can get for Miller. If the Yankees are going to trade their top-end prospects, they should try to improve the offense. Their pitching, as usual, is good, and they manufacture quality relievers out of thin air.
@@MikeD_I’d be scared cuz if he gets hurt
Miller looks awesome right now but he has already had two arm injuries. Any pitcher throwing that hard is a trip to the IL waiting to happen.
Trout shocker
I want to like this channel but Aj is putrid
The most surprising let down in the first 5 weeks, hands down "Atlanta". Where is this team's head this season? Worst bullpen in the National League. How many games are they going to let "Minter", "Chavez" and "Iglesias" blow? They should immediately fire that old man "Snitker" and replace him with "Chipper Jones". 0nly 72 wins this year and will not make the wild card class.
The Braves are 26-15 with one of the best pens in the sport bro what are you talking about right now.
FIRE ROSS ATKINS, HE'S JUST A SKULL FOR SHAPIRO TO PUT HIS HAMMER IN, BOTH NEED TO GO
Has anyone actually looked at the Astros upcoming schedule? In May-Jun-Jul, they have a BOATLOAD of games against the A's, Angels, White Sox, Rockies, and Marlins. The Astros will be 10-20 games OVER .500 by July 31st.
Mad copium, no shot
From now until 07/31, the Astros play:
10 Athletics
6 Angels
3 White Sox
2 Rockies
3 Marlins
3 Cardinals (They suck so I added them)
(27 games)
They play 44 other games versus:
6 Tigers
3 Brewers
7 Mariners
6 Twins
3 Giants
3 Orioles
3 Mets
4 Blue Jays
3 Rangers
3 Dodgers
3 Pirates
20 games over .500 (64-44) would require a 51-20 record over these 71 games (71.8% win rate).
10 games over .500 (59-49) would require a 46-25 record over these 71 games (64.8% win rate).
10 games over .500 is doable if they get healthy and hot. 20 games over .500 would require a historic run. Vast majority of the teams to go on runs of this caliber were World Series winners, runner-ups, and/or are near the top of the leaderboard for best regular season record ever.
@C21-hv8ch Short version, ain't no way. They're cursed from cheating and broken spirited from that beating my Rangers gave them last October.
Free Trevor Bauer
Dude can still pitch better than most starters right now
Bauer to Seattle running a 6 man rotation. Lol
Please let’s get Bo for the Dodgers
I think they get Arenado first
Roflmao Seriously 🤣
He is a below average defensive error machine & the Dodgers aren't stupid 🙄
@@JustMeELC As a Dodger fan, I don't want either.
Apparently Rosenthal doesn't know ball. Players who lose arbitrati8n to their team rarely if ever stay with said team. Helsley lost last winter (2023) because he wanted 2 million and cheap ass dewitt said that's too much and the arb court sided with stl and have him only 1 million. Oh and the Cardinals don't try to compete anymore so these morons on TV need to stop saying 'that isn't how they operate.'
People seem to think this is the playoff slide post 2011 WS where they lost a round earlier till they stopped making the playoffs completely. They haven't won a playoff series and won't this year, so make it in 5 straight years.
The Cardinals people want to think still exist doesn't exist with ownership and the front office
The problem is, Helsley has no choice but to stay with Cards through the 2025 season whether he lost in arb or not. They could hold him this year (dumb) and trade him next year if they wanted to or just QO him if he's had a great 2025 and say thanks for the pick.
@mizereeman you missed the point . Players who lose arb battles do not sign on to stay wirh their team. So when he's a free agent no amount of money unless he's horrible then is going to make him stay and hanging on to him year after year makes his value go down not up when he's under team control. He could have an even better 2025 but when we auck and we will in 2025. His value is gonna be far less than it is in 2024 because he'll be a FA next December. Less team control equals less value in return
