I also upgraded the horn with PIAA's i remember the first time trying to get someones attention with the stock horns 😅.

yeah the horn is annoying, but i never use it. The ambient lights are nice, would be cool if they were available in white or other colors, but they are nice, Good luck!

The normal car. I think the taillights were $300+- I sold the originals on eBay for about $130
@@juspain1 yus, the car definitely look dope and decently modified.... i really love that Nightshade edition, but i will suggest you to convert it to the APEX Edition to transform the exterior look, i think all you would need is the front splitter, side skirt spoiler, rear diffuser, cannards and trunk spoiler and voila 😀😊 i would love to see that transformed look. And please make a detailed video of the interior and your sound system including amplifier and subs.

@@juspain1 I see a round hole on the frame by the rear deck maybe serve as a provision for a subwoofer but the rods are kinda in the way. Anyways, looking forward to that video.
@@razor_ramon ahh you must be talking about the holes behind the back seat rests and below the back window. There are holes cut into the frame for two speakers and maybe an 8” subwoofer in the middle. I believe higher end corollas come with speakers there, but the SE model doesn’t have any speakers there.
My subwoofer is a 10” woofer that is in a box sitting in the trunk. The amp is also mounted to the box. It seemed like an easier option that would give a deeper bass, plus I already had the subwoofer from my previous car. Hope that helps.

Nice video! I just got a 22 XSE hatchback and did a lot of the same things you did! I got the CarlinKit V3 which is just like yours but the box is slimmer. I just did the blue led interior handle accent lights which I love. Getting the little wires down the interior door panel was tricky for me but I’m sure easier for you with the door panels off. Also did the white led cabin lights which I love. I really like the usb+led light mod you did. I have the wireless charger cubby in front so curious if I can do the same thing. I also added the JBL spare tire sub woofer in my car which is amazing. But I think down the line I’ll add door speakers like you did. I also did the full frontal PPF along with yellow vinyl on my fog lights. Whew that was a lot sorry! Great looking car!

Cool video the 1st thing I did as soon as I Drove off the dealership lot is go to the custom shop where I work at and I started upgrading the lights exhaust I installed a Turbo kit And of course custom rims and tires👍🏻👍🏻

@@juspain1 Yeah I have a 2022 Toyota Corolla LEI got the base model to save more money because I'm gonna tear it all apart and customize it anyways but there is a kid out there I forgot where I bought it from but it sounds a lot better and it makes a little bit more horsepower than the original motor so I'm happy about that and the gas mileage is only maybe about 5 to 10% difference

@@adambedski the black ones aren’t illegal. I just wanted to go for a look that looked more factory. I think the smoked ones would have been obvious that I did something to it, but the red ones would make people think that maybe the car came that way from the factory

But if it’s not the night shade version then you can look into adding black accents across the car to make it similar to my nightshade version. Not sure what else you could do that i didn’t already include in my video. But if you make some cool changes be sure to comment and let me know what you did if you think it’s dope.
Hey man, absolutely relate to your car and you just inspired me to buy your whole audio system 2 question did you have an amp when you installed it and did it sound better than stock or do I necessarily have to install an amp to notice the change?
Thanks! I think it just depends on how much sound you want out of it. I didn’t get an amp. The sound quality is much better. The dash speakers and front doors are the loudest, but the back doors are not great. An amp would fix that. The subwoofer I have of course has an amp. I think it’s a 10 inch. Also had to get some other device. Can’t remember what it’s called, but it makes it so that as the volume goes up, the bass stays the same. Guess with these newer car radios the bass goes up with the volume. Getting an amp for the car speakers I think would bi pass this. You will love the sound difference for sure. It’s much more crisp and full sounding. Don’t forget to add the sound deadening

I want to put the wheels and tires you have, would that change drastically my MPG ?
That’s a great question. I’m not an expert as these wheels came stock. One insight I can give is if you switch to a larger wheel, in turn you’ll be running a higher profile tire and have less distance between the road and the wheel, so you’re going to get a lot more road noise. There my only complaint with the car. That’s why I added as much sound deadening as I could.
You need to look into comma’s openpilot.

About teal lights, ebay and amazon descriotion is to 20/21 but not for 2022. This fit correctly? I have 2022 and im thinking up grade teal lights like yours. Can you help me with that please.. fits or need modificate something?
Hi there, that’s a good comment. The 2022 model is exactly identical to the 20/21 model. They just haven’t gotten around to updating their listing yet to reflect the year.
You mentioned a subwoofer in the trunk do you have any info on that and how you connected it to the existing head unit.
Hey thanks for the comment. That’s a great question. I didn’t want to mess with going through the firewall to the battery, or going behind the stock stereo, so I took it to an audio shop and had them install a woofer and amp that I had in a previous car. It sounds great. Not sure what they did to hook it up though. I did have to buy some kind of amp. Can’t remember what it’s called, basically on stock stereos as you turn the volume up, it cuts the bass out, so this device makes it, so that doesn’t happen. It was an additional $100.
I did all those mods to my 2020 Corolla also added hands-free driving check it out it's called the comma 3 openpilot

The trunk spoiler came with the nightshade version that I purchased, so it’s stock

It’s just part of a new tail light kit on eBay. The link is in the description. The center light isn’t a brake light though. When the lights are turned on they look fancy as it goes from side to side, that’s the only time that does it

The wheels are stock. This is the nightshade version, so it comes standard when you buy it from the dealer.

So far everything is still holding up great. It’s been about a year or so. Carlink still great and no issues with anything else. It’s been a great car
Hey I purchased a 2022 Toyota Corolla xse apex edition in the cement gray colorway and i bought the carbon fiber cover you have for the middle console but eBay told me it won’t fit, did you have to trim the covers or no?
I believe the bodies have the same basic shape for the most part so you’re probably good

Pretty sure they’re all the same. The one I got from eBay had to be bent in order to fit in, but it’s pretty flexible and is made to be bent into shape you want it in and then it just sticks on
What speakers did u get ? Was the bass better and louder ? Also where they plug and play ?
I got kicker speakers. They do sounds a lot better for sure. Having a subwoofer makes a huge difference, but the sound overall is more crisp and clear. If you order through crutchfield, they send the wire harness with your purchase that you need in order to just plug and play. Pretty easy to install.
Did you have to cut any holes out for the little blue lights on the door handles inside ? They are just plug and play ? And where are the screws to remove the door panels? I’m looking at my cars and I can’t find them 😂. Awesome details on your car 👍
It’s just plug and play. Pretty simple. Just have to figure out where the screws are. It’s been a year since I’ve pulled the door panels. I think there are 3 screws? You’ll need one of those plastic panel remover tools so you don’t scratch anything. I think I looked up a video on CZcams how to remove the panel cause they’re a little hidden, but it’s super easy. Could be an idea for a video when I get the chance. Good luck!
How do I change ,my led lights inside my car not a huge car person so don’t know how to do that
It’s not too hard. The light up front top and center was the hardest one. I think there are some CZcams videos that show how to take off the existing cover. It’s pretty much pop off the light cover and pull out the old bulb and put the new one in. I ever find some free time maybe I can make a video about this kind of thing. Good luck

Hey Justin, Do you have any problems with your tail lights after washing it or it raining? Because I’ve seen reviews on them saying that it wasn’t waterproof or something like that
I haven’t had any issues yet. They do come with a gasket type thing that you install on Teo lights. I’ve inspected it after car washes and I haven’t seen any leaks. That was an original worry of mine as well, but so far they’ve been great tail lights

I had a 2019 Camry before and I upgraded every speaker on the car and it sounded worse than stock and I used JL. What is your sound system setup? I have a 2020 Corolla XSE now and I’m wanting to do it right this time.
I’m just running what I showed in the video off stock radio, but the back door speakers are under powered for sure. But the sound is much clearer and cleaner. I have a subwoofer running off it’s own amp. You could always get an amp for the Front deck to help power your new speakers

@@xxk4rilsxx yeah I get it. It would still be underpowered, but the quality I got was a bit difference. I could have added an amp but chose not to, because I don’t usually have my music up too high. But with the added bass from the subwoofer and the amp that powers it give me enough of what I was looking for. I had the sun installed at a local sound audio shop. You could always ask them for their best recommendations
Does the car link have its own wifi source or does it use the wifi of the phone its connected to wirelessly?
You can connect to a wifi source, but it doesn’t create a wifi of its own. You could be connected to the wifi of your house in your driveway, or tether it to your phone. I just use an extra SIM card line I got for free from T-Mobile

Yes my car is also a 2022. It’s the exact same model as the previous years until 2020.
Do you have any water leak issues with your tail lights?
It’s been 2 years since the install and the lights are still good with no issues or water leaks

On the kicker speaker did you notice a difference when upgrading I been looking into getting the same exact speaker
Yes the speakers sound much better, but anything would sound better then the factory speakers. My biggest issue with the door speakers is all the power is supplied to the front. Dash speakers made a huge difference, and front door speakers are great, but the back door speakers are severely underpowered no matter how much you try to turn them up. But it’s still plenty loud overall and with the Bass in the trunk I can’t complain too much

@@eleazarlopez2170 no problem. I like sharing what I’ve learned. You won’t regret upgrading the speakers. Be sure to do the dash speakers as well. Overall it’s a much more crisp, richer, clear sound coming out the speakers. My friends can tell the difference

How did you install the extra usb port?
I actually had the same shop install it when I had them install my amp and subwoofer. They did it pretty quick and it was into about $50

I don’t have any issues with mine. You can talk on the phone like normal. There have abren a couple times while driving it has disconnected Bluetooth, but then it connects again. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. Works great

I’m not sure what your question is referring to here. But the subwoofer has an amplifier and another processor to control the amount of bass as the volume goes up and down.
I was getting enough power on the door speakers that I didn’t feel like getting a separate amp for them. The clear sound was good enough for me

No problems so far. Everything is good with them.
Does the Carlink work if you have an iPhone?
The carlink works with apple or android CarPlay, so it can be used with any iPhone that supports CarPlay. It works in this Toyota Corolla, because it comes with Apple CarPlay on the touchscreen stereo. It’s all connected with Bluetooth to your phone once carlink is plugged into the usb.

I actually had the car audio place install the usb while they were installing the subwoofer. I showed them where I wanted it. I believe it was $50 for the cost and installation.

That’s because I had it installed by the audio place I took my car to get my subwoofer installed. Since they had the front dash area taken apart, I had them add a usb while they were there. I think it was only $50 extra. Worth it for sure

I actually had it installed when I had the audio shop install my subwoofer. I figured they would have things off upfront to get behind the stereo, so I asked them to install it. It was $50 with installation. Well worth it I think
@@juspain1 that would be nice to have; i don't want to upgrade my sound system but the extra USB port would be nice, since i have an accent light that is USB and it would be nice to use it while also being able to use Android Auto
@@thatblackkid22 yeah if you don’t go with an audio system you could always go to an auto specialty shop like an audio shop and have them install an extra usb for you. They hook it up to a spot in the fuse box, so you can get a fast charge from it as well if you ever wanted to charge anything else

I feel your pain. I just got 2 rock dents on the front of the hood. Even with it covered with the clear bra, it dented it and ripped the clear bra, but no scratches on the paint.
Good thing you took precautions! Mine is a 2022 that now has 32k miles on it and my front end is riddled with paint chips. Legitimately too many to count. Maybe I willl get it touched up eventually but yours looks great! I’m looking into getting an intake and exhaust for mine before I eventually put it on coilovers with some new wheels. I love what you’ve done with yours!
Smoked rear lights would have looked better. Imo
I thought about that option, but I wanted to go for a more stock look to make people think this car came this way straight from the factory. I think the smoked tail lights would give it away that it was after market
