I did actually carve a spoon, didn't take me 25 mins.. a couple of hours but it was my first ever and this with so many of your videos inspired me to have a go. I was pretty happy with my result to!
Glad to hear and welcome to the wood carving world!
Yes - Silky Saws are excellent. I have their Japanese Kibiki (Ryoba) which I really like too.
The most amazing thing for me is how accurate he is with axe. I really love that spoon shape.
His axe is sooooo sharp love it
Love it so much, I've been watching you since I was 15 and I am 21 now. You've inspired me a lot
That's too kind! Thank you for the support!
Very nice. Serious skill and confidence with the axe.
Anyone can learn this! Being bold with the axe comes from confidence and that is instilled through knowledge about how to. It is no magic.
Watched this many times and evrytime blown away as much as the first so much confidence and a master of his actions truly magnificent..beautiful spoon thank you 🙏
You have a good eye, a steady hand, and sharp blades. Good looking spoon!
That's what I am here for brother. Thanks for the comment!
Always been interested in wood and hand tools so I’ve taken up carving. I’m really interested in spoon carving so thank you for the video.😊
A beautifully simple spoon! I especially enjoyed the silent carving.
Thanks. Added music because the wind was especially gusty and bad that day. Cheers
@@woodsmansfinest3814 yes, the music was totally fine :)
@@final_or Always a hard decision to add it, but I personally enjoy it that way. Cheers
It's all silent when you click the little horn
Very nice spoon, great carving work and nice video, thanks for sharing.
Impressive! I envy people who have such a mastery with the hatchet portion of spoon carving. You can tell you have put in the practice. Beautiful spoon!
Lots of years of a passion for the process.
But you know what... Everyone can do this.
It is a skill, not just a talent, and I know how to teach it not just do it. That's the great thing about spooncarving.
Impressive video and carving skills. Beautiful spoon!
Thank you very much.
@@woodsmansfinest3814 I carved my first thing today (A spoon) with the set of tools that came in the green wrap with the black bow, the one you reviewed. your review helped me alot! You gained another sub today :D

Precision made effortless. Thanks for the demonstration of your skills (and all the Maxisms 😎!!)
Awesome video. I really like the way you explain things. It makes it easier for us new carvers to understand.
Cheers mate and Thank you for the comment!
What more can you say other than fabulous thank you for your time and in sharing this video.Colin
Much much appreciated buddy!
Thanks Sir for showing the entire process! Great looking spoon as always!
Thank you very much for the support.
Beautiful work. It came out great. Really like the design.
Your the best Max. Good to see you !!!!!!! Great Video. Your knives and axe are amazing. I bought one of his knives for my daughter three years ago. She hiked the entire Appalachian trail with it, 7 months and 2200+miles. She whittled and carved along the way and prep ans spatula type items for meal prep. I also have his large carving axe and his small one. I've been following Max for 4+ years now. This new video is excellent. Can't wait to get my tools out sometime this week. I just pruned a red maple tree in the back yard. Yeeee Hawww Can't wait to go canoing with you sometime and hang by the fire and share some stories.
Thank you brother for all those years of support! I'm so honored your daughter took the knife on that prestigious trail. I remember our talks about that. Lots has happened but the principles are still the same. The fact you are still supporting mentally and physically leaves me so grateful! Be safe brother and until sometimes soon!
Cheers
Lovely spoon 👌. Thank you for your time and sharing this video ✌

I think it is one of the first videos I saw about spoon carving and helped me require the desire for this such amazing craft (hobby for me in a really needed time..) and more than that to realize I can really do it. Thank you man. Really love your work and words on this giveaway announcement!

I have really enjoyed your videos. I just got a Beaver Craft spoon carving kit, and I am going to start trying to carve.
Amazing skills , very impressed , love the simatary an the flow of lines 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you very much!
Thank you! I dont care for the style of the spoon but i do very much like what you said at the beginning, your premise and techniques. Great work and very sharp axe and knives!
Well, the style of the spoon is secondary. It is all about the skill. What one does with it is everyone's choice.
your axe work is really awesome. also like the leather thing around yoir neck! will be making that
Great video and really interesting to see the whole process. Superb skills 😎
Much obliged for the kind comment.
impressive skills with the axe👍
Nice fine chip carving on this spoon, love it 👏👏👏
Thanks for all the good tips 👍
That's my job mate. Thanks for stopping by.
Just ran across your channel for the first time today. Liked what you said about going back and liking several videos back, If I subscribe to a channel, I make it a habit of clicking like before the video even starts, even if I am not crazy about the video at the end, I make sure I click like to help that person out. Right now this video has almost 66K views, if everyone clicked like, you'd have 63K more.
Let me take a minute and thank you for this comment. Honestly, there is so much work going into learning the skill, learning the video part, editing, buying cameras etc and there is still so much negativity out there. I've never disliked a video before, that I watched because obviously it was good enough I consumed it and a like the change someone's luck that day, make the algorithm change the exposure or whatever. Still 75% of people who watch my videos aren't subscribed. Kinda discouraging. All these little things help out so I love your comment. Thank you!
Loved this man, keep up the nice content!
Cheers for the kind comment.
Sehr beeindruckend! Tolle Fertigkeiten mit der axt!

Hi Mr. Max. here from land of THE SLEEPING GIANT 🇨🇦. Thanks for the positive vibes again, great Video as usual. CHEERS MATE.
Thanks for watching dude!
Btw... My lake has a sleeping giant aswell. Never appeared to me. It is a range behind Traunsee, the only fjord lake of austria. Many fairy tales and old customs are common here from times way before Christianity. www.hdrshooter.com/2018/11/07/sleeping-giant-traunkirchen-austria/

So skilled 💝
Truly excellent work. Very well done! Thank you!
I bought my knives and carving axe from Ben Orford, now I just need to get out in the forest and start carving. I'm excited BUT....you make it all look too bloody easy! :-)
Oh yes and this.....Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for playing very nice easy to listen to music during the carve. Today most videos play the most revolting shitty noise, it ain't even music!, so I thoroughly enjoyed your selection. 12 out of 10!
Wow you rock! Thank you! Got lots of shit from people about the music. For some that was the only comment... Or about talking too much... As if I wasn't allowed to speak about the channel but just pump out content. Makes your comment very refreshing. Check out this link too if you ever need some help... Cheers boon.tv/woodsmansfinest
😊thanks for sharing
those are some mad hatchet skills. holy crap!
Thank you mate!
Very beautiful spoon with lots of amazing details. The spoon clearly shows where the skills excels compared to any other spoon. It requires not only to understand the wood and tools you’re working with, but it also shows it has become a lifestyle for you
Cheers brother. Yeah it has been a central part of my life for years now. It teaches me principles about shaping and crafting but also life. My teaching methods are different from other spooncarvers as in turn I am bringing my experience in body mechanics, combat sports and mental situational awareness into it. Hope causes anxiety, having a blueprint allows for confidence, boldness and relaxation.
The sheer accuracy that you have to have at 10:25 to not ruin the spoon completely is astonishing! It must save an awful lot of time in the long run being so skilled with the axe!
Cheers for the kind comment. There is a method behind all of it. There are lots of things I'm doing and considering to be that accurate. It isn't talent or just repetition. If you ever wanna step behind that: boon.tv/woodsmansfinest
Love from Norway!!!!!!

The lack of unnecessary talk really worked. Thanks.
Was meant as a compliment I guess but sounded darn rude. Information makes people better... Not empty entertainment.
superbe!!!moi ça ne me dérangerai pas de mettre +2h pour un tel résultat!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣salut de France!!!
Great video
Thank you!
nice looking spoon, fast carving.
Efficiency is fun... Cheers
I have been learning how to sharpen ,I have to make time to finish my projects and buying the nice expensive tools I deserve as I'm retired
You know where to find the best
Amazing 👌👌👌👌
Awesome axework, really impressive! Ild have destroyed the spoon like a hundret times in the first 5 mins :)
Take a lot of practice to get that accurate with an axe. I don't think I have ever hit the exact spot twice in a row. Also noticed how every move you make counts. When you put the saw down the axe was in your hand within the same motion as when you released the saw. Would have to retrain my brain to think ahead of everything I did. Would take more years than I have left to do that. I am planning on doing a spoon but for me just taking my time and if it takes a week do do one spoon I would be happy. Loved watching you work, very skilled for sure!
very grateful for your kind comment! it all comes with the constant reminder that "why" is the more important question than "how, what". You find a link below the video that takes you to a course page. there are over 55 hours of carving and craft content there but if you ever want to learn about the essence of my body/mind mechanics based carving system, invest in the Triple-C course to get the most benefit. Thank you again!
New Subscriber. Tapped like but I'll be back to watch this video later. I just added it to my "watch later" but I got to run now. Looking forward to it.
Very excited to have you on board. Airing another useful and quick one for you to make later today. Cheers
Your skill and speed are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you carving. Thank you. I would have liked to listen too, but the music was too intrusive so I turned the sound off.
Confidence is a wonderful ally. Your skill is truly praiseworthy. Thanks for sharing.
thank you ;)

That's one sharp axe!
Cheers mate! It is my design and I couldn't be happier
with this axe, it looks like you are carving butter
Cheers... My Journeyman design.
I recently got into spoon carving and have done a few cooking spoons in pretty proud of! I am getting into this for mental health reasons.
