    I was just at a trad bow shoot in Morris PA and shot over $20k in long bows by some of the big name bow companies. I was looking at a TD longbow. I narrowed it down to the Stalker Coyote SL and I would have bought it until a guy let me shoot his brand new Tolke Whip TK. Compared to the other bows I shot the Tolke and Stalker were a LOT nicer than the other bows. The Tolke was friggin fast and it caugh5 me off guard. If I hadn’t shot the Tolke I’d own a Stalker. Now I’m thinking I’d rather the three piece than the two piece. I don’t know I can’t decide. Also South was the nicest guy of the bunch I talked to. The Tolke owner as a hell of a shot. I watched him put three arrows in the head of a turkey at about 13 yards. And that dude was well into his 60’s. Take care.

    I gave up archery for more than 20 years because of exactly what you are stating. I got back into it in 2017 and decided to listen to people like Tom Clum Sr, etc. I purchased the Shot IQ course, added a clicker, etc. I have killed 5 out of 5 deer since then. I love archery and love it even more now that I can actually hit the target. I find it interesting that critics of this shot process will state that Howard Hill and the other old timers did not shoot this way, but that's simply untrue. Study Howard Hill's shooting and you will see that he does this process, only he does it quickly and seemingly effortlessly. We know that's not true because Hill shot many arrows every day in practice. Keep up the good work.

    Chad Keel is the worst 'Survival Expert' ever! He couldn't even light a fire for 4 days in S. Africa and tapped out early in Montserrat. In S. Africa, they should have used the axe to dig a well in the sand near the waterhole to get sand-filtered water to drink which is much cleaner than the straight pond water, until they can boil it! He failed to do what he says he is an expert at! Seen him in 2 episodes and he has been more of a hindrance and encumbrance than a help. He just likes appearing on TV even though he is the least able person I have seen on this programme. Waste of time and space is his role! In S. Africa Angela was brilliant, he was not! Save on the riser and get a used Titan in 17 or 19 inches, a WF 19 or one of the Bosen risers. Spend money on the limbs! Huge of the Bosen RCS myself, which are their regular carbon/foam recurve limbs, MK Korea machx or zest spray painted are dope for hunting, maybe the best limbs I've shot. Get a eagle flight quiver which dampens the limbs and doesn't mess with your balance of the bow, a nap center rest flipper arm for incredible arrow flight and a Spectra 652 14strand string with well installed cat whiskers for a weather proof and absolutely quiet setup that can do anything for ya.. Btw, thank you for the motivation. I haven't shot my bow in a bit and just got excited!

    I was gonna suggest measuring the height with a caliper on the second wheel. Moving the bar is a lot easier.

    An update to what i wrote below; I made a mistake it seems in my description; I love the Tormek, it is by far the best I've ever worked with. My criticism is specifically about Tormek's knife jig and the video above. I've had both old and new and now Nic Westermann's jig (link at the bottom + I'm not affiliated in any way with either). Thank you sincerely for your effort in creating this video. Regrettably, Tormek's latest jig still falls short in providing the crucial elements of repeatability and consistency, while also misunderstanding the essence of the hollow grind. Rather than focusing on polishing the hollow (which is a totally useless waste of time, why would you want to polish the hollow?), the primary purpose of the hollow is to create a flat surface on the stone for sharpening and honing the edge. On the Tormek; I’m not talking about HAND SHARPENING Japanese hollow ground chisels …. Furthermore, sharpening against the wheel rotation not only compromises the intended function of the stop-disc in pulling the blade against the Universal Bar but also poses safety risks. Any upward movement caused by the counter-rotating wheel can result in damage to the edge (not to mention our hands). The suggestion of using two machines is counterproductive and inefficient. Instead, why not swap the wheels between coarse and fine grits, keeping the original setup intact? However, the fundamental issues with the jig persist; it will NOT center the knife, it ensures no repeatable set-up, BUT, it ensures unrepeatable setup. For a more comprehensive understanding of these concerns, I recommend referring to the following link, where Nic Westermann addresses these (and much more) points in detail: czcams.com/video/pCJWJi62j6Y/video.html AND czcams.com/video/sKNPeIZjafg/video.html

      Sure. I use it successfully with one wheel and flat stones to finish. I worked with Nic. The Tormek is still successfully used worldwide and for decades. People make it work just fine.

    I have another question for you sir. I am wanting to use a 21 inch Hoyt riser. I draw 28 1/4 inches. Which length limb would you go with? This will be my elk hunting setup for 2024, and I plan to shoot 50-51 pounds. Thanks again!

      Dang, I was hoping they would work on my satori. Is it the lack of deflex in the Satori that makes them not work so well?

    • @bradleysweetin2271
      @bradleysweetin2271 Před 4 měsíci

      I think what you meant was the 21 inch riser and the longer limbs were a no go. Not necessarily the Satori design. I think I’m going to risk it on a set of medium limbs on it and see how I like it. I also hunt with 64 inch bows in the Rockies and Alaska. Never had a problem getting around, and I hunt deep in nasty. Recently I have been using Uukha Gobi mediums on my Satori 21. I just really want an ilf longbow that performs and is consistent. It would be much quieter for cagey animals like Pronghorn. I’ll let you know how they do sir. Thanks again for all your advice!

      @@bradleysweetin2271 what? He Satori has one of the most pronounced deflex of all risers on the market. No, it is the combo of deflex, length, limb pad angles and needed brace hight on these limbs that wouldn't make it a good combo.
