I think it was C.S,. Lewis who said "Christianity has not been tried and found difficult, it has been found difficult and not tried." Sexual sin is one of the nastiest sins to deal with, whether homosexuality, pornography, or fornication. You MUST continue to pray and rely on His grace every moment of every day. The moment you don't, you can backslide.

Asking our Lord for intimacy in the moment of temptation is truly powerful. I've struggled with porn, premarital sex and masturbation for most of my life. I tried to quit it for several years with no success, but one time I asked God to take away the temptation when I started feeling it. The moment I finished my short prayer, the desire was gone and the Peace of Grace was in its place. The temptations rarely come anymore, but when they do a two second silent prayer is enough. Only The Holy Spirit can fill that big hole in your heart, anything else just leaves you craving for more without satisfaction.

I'm an ex-lesbian. The way I finally was able to leave homosexuality was to rebuke it and satan every time I had those thoughts and feeling. I also asked God to help me with it every day. In the beginning if I didn't pray I would struggle a lot more. I left homosexuality 26 years ago. I got married almost 25 years ago and God blessed us with a miracle child. The doctor told me that I shouldn't have been able to get pregnant. She was born the day before my birthday. God is so good!

Identifying as a "gay guy" is sin in and of itself. Identifying yourself by your favorite sinful desire is idolatry. If you are a Christian, your identity is in Christ, not in the particular sinful sexual desire.

Thats really good, im proud of u†, what i can say tho is i hope u dont identify as that because it will continue pushing on in u ,, i talk by experience , i was struggling with that , i became born again after i got a gf , and unfortunately i did bad stuff,, and then i heard His voice , my then gf was born again as well and she heard Him as well , the same words.
After that i left it behind and it needed time but i didnt need to do it alone God did it gradually as painless as possible , he saved me from that and deleted it! when im really close to Him especially i can hardly sin (well, i do it in my mind many times but still, outwardly) , so what i can encourage u or another person with is
just trust in God , trust in His timing, not yours, dont be impatient and listen to His voice, and most importantly be with Him , spend time with Him , and your bodily temptations will weaken and if ur having spiritual attacks , the evil one will flee as well.

Idk about you but I can barely wrangle a thought anywhere and make it obey anything... usually it gets worse the harder I try.... BUT what I CAN manage is to wrangle my mind over to the finished work of Christ and His obedience unto the cross which eclipses these bad thoughts and melts them untill all thats left is Jesus at that moment.
Identifying with one's favorite sin is sin. Someone has not fully surrendered to the Lordship of Christ if he identifies as a "gay Christian." Wanting to have gay sex is sin just as much as wanting to commit adultery is sin. Not only do we need to be free from the physical act of sin, but we need to be free from the desire to sin.

I am not Gay and donât claim to have ever been, however since turning to Christ I have decided to no longer have a relationship ( either intimate or otherwise ) I feel it comes down to learning to deny oneself in the name of Our Lord. Ps I am a little older and have had my share of relationships so I no longer feel the need to fulfil that part of my life with anyone but GOD. I do however miss or crave intimacy but with help from my Creator these moments are fleeting. Praise Jesus đđ€©

Praise Jesus. I was delivered from the spirit of homosexuality. It is ultimately a choice to renounce it. It came in and claimed rights to me through sexual abuse I suffered as a child

Iâm sorry that happened to you. The research that has been done on this shows that childhood sexual abuse, early sexualization and missing or problematic same gender parents are the cause of homosexuality. The lie that people are born gay is doing so much damage.
So it was done to you. I think the worst thing that the pro gay agenda is doing is it is not addressing the shame gays actually feel and so it is not addressed. The shame is not yours it belongs to a society that let go of God and refuses to acknowledge we got this wrong.

Would you call yourself a gossiping Christian? A lying Christian? An adulterous Christian? An idolatrous Christian? No, itâs an oxymoron, itâs antithetical. Being a Christian means your identity is in Christ; you have been born again and no longer identify with sin, and Jesus no longer remembers your sin nor holds it against you. How is He going to not remember it and not hold it against you when youâre actively choosing to live a life dedicated to and identifying with sin? Just because it feels like itâs part of who you are? Thatâs a faulty view of Christ and what it means to be saved.

I know that for some people, the desire can go away. One of my dear friends had this happen, but that was thirty years after he started to live for Jesus. Think decades!
So basically after he was young enough to be a father.
What was the point of that?
What helps me in this issue is remembering what he went through from being kidnapped in the middle of the night, beat, killed and resurrecting. That helps me to stay on track. Though I was never the type of person to look at a person and just start undressing her with my eyes because I felt that was super disrespectful, and I wouldn't want someone else male or female to do that to me. Today, any new female I meet automatically goes into the friend-zone to later becoming a sibling.

Why do people think that Jesus isnât powerful enough to take away desires for the same sex? He has for so many people. And when you go through deliverance, itâs much easier.
People struggle with all kinds of addictions. A dry alcoholic has urges but not drinking is righteous. Temptation is ALWAYS present. We exchange the 'old man' for the 'new man' but the 'gang of robbers' are always trying to break-in to our hearts.
Exactly, there are testimonies of some people who have prayed and no longer have those attractions anymore! God can deliver!
Becket has himself experienced that he has been praying, but he didn't develop an attraction to women. Maybe God is saying something there and wants him to give important testimony.
Temptation is always there. I began praying about it at an early age, in my early teens. The desire didn't go away so I turned my back to God for over a decade. After dedicating my life to him again, I've been praying the last 5 years and still stumble. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm also not saying it's guaranteed. We all have sins we struggle with. It's wether or not we willing fall into it each and every time.

I love this conversation but itâs also a conversation about and with heterosexuals. Whether you are attracted to same sex or opposite sex, itâs still temptation, itâs still sin, and sexual temptation is equal for both. However, I learned something and that its God is calling us, not just to be celibate but to be HOLY like HE is HOLY!! That means giving over and surrendering ourselves, every bit of us, to include the sexual deduction and temptations to Him. To trust Him, and as we stand in Holiness, those feeling, attractions, seductions, suddenly flee! You stop thinking about it and it loses itâs importance.đđœđđœđđœ

Thanks, Melissa! You provide hope. Unlike so many self-righteous Christian (men primarily) on CZcams and in the Pulpit who love to point out the sin of others, yet give no real hope or solution. Worse, most of them cannot even relate to homosexual lust. Christ can free us from anything, and His Grace is sufficient. Hebrews 2:18. He's able. Do we want the help? God help us.
This is a great channel, not just because of Melissa's intelligence and breadth of vision. She could easily reduce people who disagree with her into rubble. But she treats them with respect and dignity, which is what God commands.

I dont know if your analogy on homosexual attraction with Paul's situation holds ground since the action committed on account of the former leads to sin while the latter is only an affliction that doesn't involved resorting to sinning. Not that I condone homosexual activity that leads to sin but i thought the parallelism is quite off.

I don't think what Paul meant by, "God's grace is sufficient" applies to a sin. Paul's thorn in the flesh was persecution for the gospels sake though. God even promised Paul he would suffer much persecution for Him. It's different from a sin in your life. God can free us from sin and helps us renew our mind. There is no promise it will be easy either. Mind renewal might be more than someone is willing to go through also.

I know of a man who was in a gay relationship for years and he became a Christian ended up getting married and had a couple of children.
Even before the filling of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Jesus was exhorting His disciples to watch and pray, lest they fall into temptation. This is saying that prayer is one tool to overcome sin, whatever it may be.
I am surprised you all didn't mention the Scripture "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord"
We become a new creation with new desires when the Holy Spirit comes in. It is not just a battle that we wage by the strength of our own wills against the flesh.

I really enjoy your content and have watched countless videos of yours. Given your background in New Age, I wonder what your thoughts are on mindfulness. I went to a Christian counsellor a few years back when I was going through burnout and depression. He told me to start practicing meditation but to be mostly concerned with the practice of mindfulness as he said it's the only thing he's ever seen to be effective for most of his patients. I'm also wondering if you've ever heard of the book called The Healing Codes and what your thoughts are.
The good Lord has brought me and my husband a same sex attracted neighbor. By providence I have been cooking him dinner once a week and showing him Christs love. I donât know if he knows if I am a Christian but I pray for him as I make the food. We never know how our Lord is using us to reach the suffering. May the good Lord be with you all â€. Im not gay, even though I had some thoughts popping up about this. But let me say some things about gayness, maybe it can be helpful for somebody:
There is a book in psychology called DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), which lists the mental disorders. They renew this time after time, now they are at DSM-5.
In the first edition, gayness was included as a mental disorder, ofc now it isnt.
A psychotherapist talked about how somebody went to him, not because he was gay, but for other problems, and they worked on different issues. One of our bigest issues is our connection/relationship with our parents. So the client worked on the relationship with his father. And after some time, the question of gayness came up as a result of the traumas in this area.
So maybe this is an approach worth to examine, even with a therapist. If you are attracted to the same sex, its worth to work on the traumas or relationship in general with the same sex parent.
Yes, there have been cases, especially in women who lived the lesbian lifestyle, that once they started examining their past traumas in therapy, attraction to men started to emerge. I don't say this is the case in every instance, especially not in men, where homosexual attraction seems to be rooted deeper than in women, but it's still worth noting.

Is it different from being a single who feels random attraction and sexual feelings/attraction to the opposite sex - like in a store when you don't know that person and nothing is going to happen?

In my research to resolve health issues I've come across a number of toxins that can interfere with hormones - soy, glyphosates, phthalates, etc. I know sin is ever-present but I wonder how much toxins effect a homosexual desire. I would love to hear Becket's (or Christopher's or Rosaria's) response.
I've prayed to God for years to take my anger away; to take my selfishness away. Sorry to say, I'm still a sinner. But these days I'm a lot better, and I live my life for Christ. He doesn't render us white as snow.

Struggling with opposite sex attraction causes a lot of problems too if you sleep around when you're not supposed to.
The Bible says we are led astray by our own lusts. So, think of Gay as being a lust. Some battle lusts for food, to gamble, for fame, for alcohol, and some for sex, same sex or opposite sex, both are lusts. We ALL are battling a proclivity toward something and probably will until the day we die. There IS deliverance, God completely uprooted my desire to smoke cigarettes. I went to bed crying out one night and woke up the next morning and never smoked again. He had removed the desire entirely. But for MOST things, we will have to resist urges, the desires of our flesh, until we die or He comes back. Just remember, there are blessings attached to overcoming. :)

It is obvious to me that Becket still struggles with the same-like passions within his heart (as we all do, for in this flesh we are being sanctified, yet never perfected), and it is true, I still struggle as well (though in different ways), but we must look to Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, for it is He who cares for us and provides for us a way out... it is He who knows our frame; it is He who knows that we are but dust... hence, because of His great Love for us and His namesake/glory we are not consumed, for His mercies are new every morning... indeed, His mercies endure forever; great is His faithfulness đ©žâïžđđđđŒđđ„°
I wouldn't say in his heart but rather in his mind, most people don't realize that sin is birthed in the mind and goes to the heart and when it is fully grown it give birth to sin.
There is a lesson for us where the children of Israel wanted God to take away the Fiery Serpents. God, instead of taking away the poisonous snakes, did something that made them stronger than the poison.
Jesus picked up on that story many years later, in John chapter 3:
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
In the book of Hebrews, there is a chapter thatâs called "the heroes of faith" chapter 11 lists some amazing things that were done in the past but the real take away.... the whole point in bringing that all up ... is to encourage us, who are struggling, to look toward Jesus!
Heb 12: 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The renewing of the mind can be a lifelong process. Expecting someone to just âget overâ their wrong attractions or anything like an addiction is beyond the scope of scripture. Chasing Jesus is what is essential. How He renews us takes time and takes grace. Thanks for this! Itâs been a long journey for me to learn to be gracious in regard to many things I know to be against Godâs will and design for humanity.

My advice would be to read scripture as often as possible it will renew your mind and when you resist the temptation satan and his minions will flee from you. The most important thing to remember is to take every negative thought captive immediately, if you don't it could lead to you committing the negative act you were thinking about.

This is a personal question, and perhaps not applicable to you, but a very valid one: have you ever looked at p*rn? Perhaps been addicted or currently are addicted/watching it regularly? P*rn has contributed to a huge number of perversions (perversion means a distortion and corruption of something). For example the recent infamous case of straight guys suddenly becoming tr*ns after getting into a rabbithole of p*rn categories. Iâm guessing being attracted to lesbians can be traced back to that as well, in a fair amount if circumstances.

You need to stop using the word "sexuality." That word has several meanings to include ones that describe the beautiful physical activity God created for husbands and wives.

That involves choices and the mechanism used (besides test tubes) is directly connected to flesh (body and mind). I don't get political. This is science and God's path to offspring. Daily these choices are put in front of us and daily we are choosing light or dark. It's very simple...between us, personally, and the Heavenly Father.

I have SEEN homosexuality take place with a preachers daughter and he had NO CLUE of what was going on during the slumber parties and when I do try to bring this up at my home church, the pastor threatened me with a restraining order...EVEN THOUGH this own church questionnaire to apply to do VOLUNTEER WORK was "are you a practicing homosexual." A church is a haven for sinners, right? So what makes you think that this sim would never take place in it?
