- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have touched foreheads with the Maoris, cuddled koalas, gone welly-wanging and watched countless ceremonies.
They also received their first baby gifts after announcing that they were expecting.
Their tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga is an example of the type of soft diplomacy at which the royals excel.
Sky's royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills travelled with the couple - and has this special report - on how they were received down under.

This tour was overwhelmingly successful, and quite different to any of the other royal tours, and this was the undoing of Meghan. I can imagine the jealousy from the other royals. She was given the task of making her own speeches on her first tour which was never done by any of the newly married brides who had married into Royalty i.e. as the Duchess of Cambridge, and the Countess of Wessex. She is eloquent, articulate and highly intelligent, and and I am convinced that's when it all started to unruffle for her. A great pity, because she would have been a great asset to the British Royal Family.

This tour is when it all fell down... When the royal family saw how popular they were, how they eclipsed everyone else including the future king and queen, this is when they said we have to do something, notice how everything changed after that tour🙄

This tour was so epic, I loved it, felt like I was right there with them, I can't wait til they go to Africa or the Caribbean with the baby, gonna be even 10 x better. Duke and Duchess of Sussex definitely down to earth, loving and caring,People Prince and Princess.

Oh please. Thats only their perspective. I'm guessing he royal family had a much different version. Right before this trip Meghan announced her pregnancy at Eugenie wedding, which the family was upset about. It makes more sense they were upset about that than this tour. The family wanted Meghan to succeed and did everything they could to try to help her fit it. It doesn't make sense they would be upset that she was successful at winning over the public. That's what they wanted. I'm sure they had a very good reason why they turned, but Meghan doesn't know it so she assumes their jealous, which is quite childish and empty headed in my opinion.

That's was the REAL reason the Royals turned on them they became far too popular and well liked. The same with Diana they didn't like her popularity. The tour was massively successful with record turnout.

Just came here from William and Kate with 25 comments, she did brilliant on this tour.
Sad to see what the RF did to them by saying rude things. And Kate starting problems before their wedding. And the RF didn’t try to simply apologizing for their behavior. All families have their differences and disagreements.

The tag “Meghan was giving a hint by carrying those folders” was incorrect. If anything, she was trying to “hide” her baby bump before announcing the awesome news of her pregnancy. So, no “hint.”

A very "difficult" and "stressful" life...
I like them but why British still maintain the monarchy?
So many people don't have the minimum basic to live in the UK.

Same reason Denmark, Sweden, Spain and many other nations still do... culture, history. Most of the monarchs are figure heads as there are parliaments that "control" the country. The job the royals is to bring awareness to causes and they bring is millions upon millions for those causes.

It was after this tour when the calculated smear campaign happened. The other royals saw how popular Harry and Meghan were and had the press harass them. The tabloids had refused to leave her alone, even during her pregnancy. I'm just glad that Harry and Meghan had made the right decision to leave. Mental health is important. Happy that they're still really close to the queen. When the queen had missed some events at the jubilee, she was spending time with Harry and her great grandchildren.

The outfit cost that, however, Meghan does not pay that price. By her wearing the clothing it generates sale through the roof for the designer. They get millions more than what Meghan would pay them. She is every designer's dream. That is the trick.
It is also why HRH wear brand that is unknown or is struggling, these designers then start to operate beyond capacity. It is a win, win.
It stirs the economy, get more people hired, it trickles down. It is a very good thing.
..."baby showers" are practically unheard of in the UK. She just "organised" it as a FREEBIE NIGHT with her buddies.
