- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan are given a guard of honour as they arrive in Casablanca Airport for a three-day visit to Morocco - and are offered 'the best dates in the world' upon arrival - a Moroccan delicacy. Report by Simon Anderson.

Hi, we are trying to figure out why the Duchess of Sussex was not allowed to walk on the red carpet when they went to visit the Crown Prince of Morocco (video of the military officers in red not white). Can you help? A couple of us said it must be cultural. Can you give more information why? Would really appreciate it. Thanks.

For everyone asking why meghan didn't walk down the red carpet when harry did, the answer is that it is part of the protocol .. any king or prince, minister ... has to receive personnally this message from the military troops even if he is accompanied.

That has nothing to do with gender. Stop being so judgemental. The Moroccan Royal Protocol is set up like that, the national guard officer has to do the official welcome to the first blood Royal (when royalty) or the President of the state, whether it is a male or a female. Queen Elizabeth was saluted the same way when she visited Morocco.

The fact that Duchess Meghan is cognizant of the meaning of red to the country of Morocco, knows about cultural norms in the country she's visiting and respects those norms shouldn't be unusual or extraordinary.
