I swear the part with the troops defending the embassy compound at the end was replicated 1:1 in MW2019, complete with the position of the pillars and exact timing of the first car driving up to the compound before the enemies in the fields light you up. Oh, and they make it a point to hand you a rifle with a thermal scope.
All of them are awesome. Black Hawk Down has the most realistic firearm sound.

@@ameerasilvester6333 yes Malaysia was involved in the extraction effort. Unfortunately u are gonna have to ask the producers why Malaysia wasn't portrayed but only mentioned once. A US Army Colonel later send a letter to the Malaysia's MALBATT commander, I think it was Colonel Abdul Latib, thanking and appreciating him and the Malaysian soldiers in the extraction effort. But the important thing is, the American soldiers at 61 didn't forget about the Malaysian soldiers participation in the extraction effort. U can find videos where American veterans who fought in the battle, especially those at 61, telling the interviewer that Malaysian forces were involved.
First time I heard an actual RPG fired at me I knew exactly what was coming because of Black Hawk Down, that high pitched screech is forever seared into my head
In terms of the 'sounds' of gunshots... I thought the Forest Battle in Lone Survivor was most realistic. That and Sicario

Otherwise, movies with live/blank rounds are safe like Come and See (fun fact; they used alot of live ammo, they shot up a church on fire, a sick cow that was going to die and machine gun tracers just 7 to 9 inches above protagonist's head in one scene), Mosul (2019), The Raid series, Heat, The Day of the Wolves, and few movies from early 1900s. Of course there are unsafe ones like Brandon Lee (The Crow), Jon-Erik Hexum (Cover Up), Johann Ofner (Friend Like You), Charles Chandler (The Captive), and recently Halyna Hutchins (Rust, not-so-fun facts; Alec Baldwin is super anti-gun, yet he boasted about his experience with firearms and lied about the gun went off by itself, the armourer and assistant director were not experienced with handling firearms and did not follow the proper procedures).
Cropping the Sicario scene killed the tension and the beauty of it. Sad

I don’t know why some movie directors decided that a RPG sounds like fireworks...
This is why I will always love action movies, my favorite genre! A lot of realism mixed with intense gunfights, explosions, all of that keeps me on the edge of my seat!
Realism is hardly something these action movies are about.
Its just over the top action to make it entertaining to watch.
It isn't realism that the "bad guys" have so bad aim that a 100 gun men could be shooting at a single guy and none of the 100 is able to hit the 1 american, but that 1 american is hitting 90% of his targets even when being so supressed by enemy fire that if it was real he would have died the moment he stuck his head out.
We just have to realise these movies are made to show the military in a good light and make it over the top of how heroic the soldiers are and how good they are since they are wiping the floor with bad guys who all have been trained to not hit anywhere near the americans.
Its in a way just propoganda since alot of these movies is made with the help of the real life military and because of that help the military makes the film maker show the military in a good light and promote it with over the top action to get people to join the military.
Realism is the least thing you should expect from action movies.

The Kingdom by Jamie Foxx can be squeezed up there. It definitely had the kind of tensions that get you engage emotionally but still your list is great as I've watched most of them :)
That movie is not on the list of "most realistic" but still one of my favorites! Underrated movie right there.

@@mrtiesthatbind bro I am brazilian. Believe or not, Rio de Janeiro is a warzone for more time than Syria, and even more crazy is that other parts of the city are perfectly functional. A few years ago, the fcking Brazilian Army had to got there 2 times. Watch this compilation to get some taste of what happens there. No dialogue, just the scenes:

Looks like the Brazilian government has failed itself and got desperate in favela matter by deploying the army, and i reckon they concealed it pretty well during the 2014 World Cup
@@mrtiesthatbind that is the point. The city is portraited as a great place, organized and secure. But mere miles outside the rich areas, in the favelas, there a state of constant urban warfare. I know that I can never compare to an actual war between nations or terrorist groups. But you know something is very wrong when the police needs armoured vehicles e air support.

13 Hours - I loved the effects of the machine guns tearing up the vehicles and people. The .50 HMG did a good job showing how scary those would be on the receiving end. Also your timestamps are way off.

The crazy thing is that there is a real Navy Seal that did exactly what you see in the movie Act of Valor. He literally jumped on top of a grenade to save several members of his SEAL squad. Petty officer 2nd class Michael Monsoor was awarded America's highest medal.."The Medal of Honor" for his Valor. He passed away about 30 minutes after he did this heroic act. Michael Monsoor....American hero. He also won several other medals.
