you really have to read in between the lines and with that im not even sure what he means exactly. but this is what i got from it: he means that he could follow Kerr quite easily but couldnt pass him, but since it was his first race of the year and he is still in training and at the start of his build up, he thinks that he has more room to improve than Kerr and that will make him the favorite in Paris.

"The mile isn't important to my culture"
Jakob ALWAYS shows up to the races. Its a shame we haven't had these big time races all along!
The point is, the Pre is not the Olympics but a race to gauge how effective training for the Olympics is going. But not intended as THE race.
There's nothing wrong with congratulating the winner Josh...
Are we hating Jacob because we all want his confidence? Man came from a 9 months break and puts on a show and here we are calling him a sore loser. Name any other world class athlete who came back from an injury and threw down a world class performance in the last 10 years in track and field.
If he ran like that and nearly got Josh, on 80%, and just coming back from injury, he’ll win France. Kerr is not exciting, Jakob is and Jakob is no where near his best right now. Whilst the battle of Josh v Jakob continues, I’d be worried about Yared Nuguse. The silent assassin!
"I'm not a fan of the mile" says the man who set up a 2 mile World Record at a meet in metric Norway.
Jeez can you imagine being the child of Jacob? Some tough love coming your way.
Love this guy
With the level of intensity the media is putting on him to "put on a show" for them and their audiences, it almost feels like he's being molded into something he's really not. Would be interesting to see how these questions would have been answered in his native Norwegian.
The interviewers must love Jacob there’s about a million sound bites in this one 😮
Haha he is so salty 😂 “Time trial” 😅😅😅
He got mushroom stamped😂
He should have stopped at 1500m and called it a day. 😂
It's such a cop out to say that the mile isn't part of 'his culture', when he has been racing the Bowerman Mile since he was like 17. People understand that this was his first race back from an Achilles injury, he doesn't need to defend himself. That's the danger in being the sore winner that he has been in the past -- when you do lose, it's hard on you mentally to accept it.
Idc what anyone says. I'm liking this father version of Jakob so much more.
Every excuse in the book. Kerr, I hope you keep beating this arrogant dude.
This man is always making some excuse when he loses…
