    Hi Jon. Great video as usual. One thing I do when I go to a yard on the hard is put a lock out tag on each breaker that has to stay off. I also have a instuction sheet taped to the breaker panel door that has instructions to whom ever opens it what is to remain off and what is to remain on, while on the hard. Several times in the past I have had yard workers mess my routine up when they have to disconnect the shore power or move the boat. I also instruct the yard coordinator that if the boat is disconnected for any reason the boats mains are to be shut off before disconnets and to be turned back on only after reconnections. One yard blew up my charger thru live disconnect and reconnects.

    Hi Jon, Karlynn! Absolutely a water maker is an essential on any MY. You will find that the stabilizer is worth the cost. You will sleep as sound as a teenager who needs to get to class. Trips will be so much more comfortable. Take a look at your current video. Do you notice how much roll there is, not terrible. But film a similar run and there will be no discernible pitch or roll. These items will add value to Elli-Yacht making for an easy sale. Have fun on the hard u2!

      Thank you for the thoughtful feedback as always! I can’t wait to hit that stabilization ‘on’ button for the first time.

    Cool to see Jon. The CMC system was the same one we had decided to go with on our previous boat before we made the decision to sell it. I think its totally the best fit for your vessel and love the zero speed option.

      Hi Wade, I want to thank you for your insight and your research. It helped to finalize our decision on the Waveless solution.

    What do you do with your water maker when back in the fresh water of Lake Union for a bit? Do you have to pickle it or do you use it to keep it “fresh”?

    • @ElliYacht1
      @ElliYacht1  Před rokem +2

      Good questions. There is a myth that water makers can’t be used in fresh water. We’ve used our old one for 3 years in and outside of Lake Washington with great results. It just uses less pressure in bodies of fresh water.
      As far as pickling, our unit back flushes weekly to keep it fresh. If we didn’t do that, we would need to pickle it to protect the membranes.
      With our new high volume water maker, we’ll probably use it to replenish our onboard tank vs being connected to the city water main. That will keep it in use and reduce chance of contamination from hoses, etc.

    I don't recall you saying what new Fridge you are going with. What brand and model have you selected?

    • @ElliYacht1
      @ElliYacht1  Před rokem

      Hi Rob, we’re replacing it with a Vitrifrigo EW250IXN4-EXV-1. It has a lower drawer freezer and front panel temperature gauges. It’s definitely a splurge.

    What brand of water maker are you going with and why? Thank you.

    • @ElliYacht1
      @ElliYacht1  Před rokem

      We’re going with a Blue Water Legend. The legend is extremely compact and fits in to the identical space that our 12V system did, which made the swap easy. We selected the 240V 78GPH configuration, so there are two larger membranes vs one smaller one. The Legend is fully automatic, in that we don’t have to manually dial in the pressure every time it starts.
      It’s a little thing but, when you use the water maker every other day, it’s a hassle.

    Is there any reason you never went with a seakeeper giro instead of a fin stabilizer?

    • @tedspeed3338
      @tedspeed3338 Před rokem +1

      probably price (avg $75K) and you would need a generator running all the time for the Seakeeper 6 (needs 110 - 230 Volts AC power for the Motor Drive Box to drive the motor inside the Seakeeper per the website) Also the space to put it, like he said, they don’t have a lot of room as it is.

      Ted is a mind reader! + the spin up time is ~20 minutes. Electric fins are instant on.

      $60k for the stabilizer package. We’ll let you know what the installation costs. Forecasting ~$25k

      It went to a friend that is going down to Mexico. I hope it continues to be as dependable for them as it was for us.
