In his own words “Andy Golledge is a livewire and a gentle soul, trapped in a 70s tuna fisherman’s body. He looks like your old man back in the day, sounds like Neil Young, with the energy of Springsteen, and a vulnerability all his own”. Couldn’t have summarised it any better ourselves! This Australian alt-country artist’s shows are amongst some of the funnest and most joyous shows we’ve ever witnessed, and we were thrilled when he agreed to be part of our World Stage project. Following the release of his debut album ‘Strength of a Queen’ in March 2022, he undertook a short tour culminating in this memorable sold out show in Sydney. Given the energy and love in the room, we think it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever see him at such close quarters again. Andy, we gotta take our shirt off to ya (and many audience members agreed!) - this one was a blinder.

As the bald guy going off in the front row here, It defies my belief that this has had only 1100 views, and the official clip is around 11k. This song puts Golledge in the same class as Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, Archie Roach, Chris Bailey, Grant McClellan etc, all of whom would've killed to write it. Not to mention the greatest 64-bar guitar solo in Australian music. It's like being a Beatles fan in Liverpool but they never broke out of the Cavern, they were the same band thru the 60's but Locals Only. Why do I love my home for 30 years, The Inner West? Watch this.

Bloody hell that's such a succinct way to put it. I completely agree though. Saw him for the first time at The Gympie Muster on the weekend. His sound has such a classic feel it's like he's walked straight of the 60's/70's. It's as if his music has been around for decades. I can't quite figure out what it is. Maybe the classic sound, his brilliant introspective lyrics and sprawling guitar solos. I dunno man, but I'm hooked!
