You can see this will change once the rights holders figure out how to charge extra for this, think amazing quality of stem 2.0 has caught them off guard and now they think they can get extra money from djs/producers for making it easier to make mashups and bootlegs

      I doubt that it's VDJs Stems 2.0
VDJ + djay Pro were the only DJ software that did stems until recently, and that only represented less than 15% of the market
Now that Serato and Rekordbox have added it, it's about 90% of the market that has stems features - that has probably been noticed

Great video again, Klaus. What do you think would be a better alternative to Tidal?

I personally have used Deezer for a long time for regular tracks and iDJPool for remixes of newer tracks
But of those two only iDJPool are licensed for use in public as a DJ
It think Beatsource would also be a good choice
I've never tried using soundcloud as a DJ source

My two cents on it is always going to be the same: if you have enough internet to stream music, then you have enough to be online and buy the track instead of renting it. And that can be as low as a 3g signal for an audio file if you have to use your phone to navigate to Amazon or similar, purchase a track, then import it into your computer.
The reliance on streaming platforms has already caused many dj's to panic when Tidal dropped that little bombshell on them, and just think how horrible bad it's gonna get for them if all the other streaming platforms follow the same practice? Buy the music ahead of time and if 'karen' or a 'bridezilla' wants to let the world know how special that one song is - then just buy it or learn how to say 'sorry that's unavailable'.

Thank you! As far as dj'ing I rather own my music and have it on my laptop and nothing worse I cannot imagine a signal dropping and personally have never used streaming. I guess it can be beneficial for building sets but I would not want to take that chance to use streaming during a set. So well agreed for me this is no big deal and honestly one could see this might be coming soon some time ago. So cannot understand the panic. Do many dj's really use streaming that much in a set to have it be such a thing. Personally of the many dj's I know here in NYC they are not using streaming services...again the ones I know there may be more.
Now I could see maybe at a Wedding or certain Events it would be helpful, but for a club or bar situation perhaps not.

Hi Klaus, great video as usual, do you think maybe there will be A DJ only tier inc stems at a higher sub?, I did send a support ticket and the answer I got was watch this space, but that could have been about the cache option.

No, I don't think Tidal will do that. Then they woold have done that first, because right now they are loosing DJ subscribers

Label pressure basically, been a club DJ for 40, artists seem to forget we promote them to the masses and always have done.

      @klausmogensen8691  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yes, it's not there :)
Like I say in the video, it's kind of a hidden feature, so you can't search for videos directly
But you can search for them in your Tidal app/site, create a playlist and ad them to that playlist
Then the playlist vill be visible in VDJ - and also the videos inside it
So the "video" one in my Tidal list is my play list that I have created
