      Whats the difference between the two?

    • @greepski
      @greepski Před 2 lety +11

      @@Steve-yo4ld A 2-way fridge runs on AC or propane, while a 3-way fridge can run on both of those plus run on DC. This means a 3-way can run off the battery while you are towing and the battery is recharging at the same time. Without that, you need to put frozen jugs of ice in the 2-way while traveling in order to have it hold temps and keep your food cold during long trips.

    I actually looked at an A-liner back in 2020 and when I went to research it I read about how they leak. I told the salesman what I read and they said that it wasn’t true. Fortunately I asked when it was raining and I looked at the wall that crosses between the side wall and the main wall and there was water. I decided on a Intech!

      I keep hearing this about A-frames. I wonder if it's actually unique to A-liner models, though? I have a Rockwood A122-S and have not had any problems with water coming in through any of the gaps. I've had it set up in pretty rough weather: in the summer, a torrential downpour with 50mph wind gusts. And this winter we had 3-feet of snow over 2 days with 70mph wind gusts! It performed like a champ. In fact, I slept in it during the winter storm, just to see what it would be like. It was warm and cozy, barely rocked, hardly any drafts and no snow blew in. I do place plumbing insulation "noodles" in the seams in the winter, though, to help insulate it. With wind chills below zero outside, I was able to maintain a comfy and calm 65°F inside. I slept like a baby!
      Edit: I've also heard horror stories from people about the wind tearing open the roof on A-frames in winds less than I've experienced. I honestly can't see how in my A122-S. The top fits together with notches and then you lock the walls in place with very secure latches. I do have a cross-beam I use, though, to hang things from the ceiling. Although I don't install it for stability, this should give extra support to the walls and prevent them from being "pushed in" under pressure. That's about the only way I could imagine the roof collapsing - if strong winds managed to push hard enough to bend the latches sideways until they failed and then the wall collapsed. I can't imagine them failing from the roof being pulled "up" by the winds unless you were in a severe hurricane. As I mentioned, 50 to 70mph wind gusts didn't seem to phase it, my camper rocked and creaked a little but it wasn't any worse than being inside a car in those conditions.
      2nd edit: Giving it a little more thought, there is one other way I can imagine the wind tearing it open - if you mistakenly thought everything was properly seated and latched when it wasn't. I made that mistake early on with the roof, that it wasn't seated quite right, but then the latches won't close properly which is how I realized it. If someone were to ignore the poor latching and just shrug it off, I could see problems in high winds. Since that one time where it wasn't seated, I triple-check when I put it up to ensure it's seated properly in the notches.

      People say that about popups too, and neither of my two Coleman's or my current flagstaff has ever leaked in heavy down pours or winds. I tend to believe that mostly it would be unit, or use, or set up issue on the whole. I will say that breaking down in rain is the same as with a popup for wetness, so you need to put it back up when you get where you are going to dry out.

    The entire time I’m thinking this trailer is not very air tight. All those cracks where panels meet and in between the door halves mean bugs, smoke, humidity, and warm/cold air can all some right in. Also, the gas struts are on the outside exposing them to sun, wind when traveling, freezing precipitation, and so forth.

      You are a wise man. Search Aliner reviews by real people who are also owners. They do leak air and water. Slim Potato Head has a nice channel with reviews and modifications over a period of years. He recently purchased a fiberglass tear drop type. Also Average Alice has a good review. Do not go into bear country and expect protection.

    There has to be a privacy curtain for the toilet so you are not pooping in front of people. Sink also needs a cover because there needs to be more counter space for TV placement. The interior is too beige needs better decoration. My old pop up even had a shower configuration. I liked the solid dormers for a weather and security purposes and the fold up top on the cassette toilet. This video also needed to show how you set up the table bed not just show it finished. Very expensive for what you get. Easy pass for me.

    I wonder if the manufacturer would be willing to delete the actual cassette toilet/system, and keep the cabinet? Maybe then you could then add your own composting toilet. There are excellent used deals on the market. They are often built better and often initial problems have been fixed. Do your research, be persistent and careful. Many people buy a camper and after one season they want to sell for many reasons; the main one is that trailer camping is more work than they realized. I also understand that divorce is common after the first trip.

    Does the toilet not have a door? Who wants to see the toilet across from the stove and fridge. Nope wouldn’t take it for free.

      $37,563 at the time of taping, there’s a little box you can click and open under the video, that’s where I found the price. Hope that helps, happy camping!
