"Is he actually playing the piano?" Yes and no. The studio recording of the song features Sean Rooney (who also composed the reimagined version) on piano; Radke basically said he just sounded a bit better. But Ronnie does play this live, including the piano solo (which mimics the guitar solo in the original if you didn't pick up on that)--he's played piano since childhood. It's worth noting that the lyrics, which are the same in both versions, were written by Ronnie Radke about _himself_ . “It’s me, looking in the mirror, saying, ‘I am my own worst energy. I do the worst damage to myself--- more than anybody else can to do me.' It’s obviously from my past experiences.” And yeah, the "Good Charlottey" (great description) sound in the original version really left the lyrical content to fall into the background, and I'm beyond glad he recorded this newer version which corrects that.
@@kathleenclark815 I swear I remember seeing a video on CZcams of him performing this song (or maybe it was Re-Vamped?) on piano many months ago, but I cannot re-find it now. :( All the live performances I see of it currently just have him singing. He does have a video of himself playing piano (pretty impressively) on his channel, just not this song: czcams.com/video/fVEB_xt8MUM/video.html
@@Harv72b He has said that Revamped will never be done at a concert. Also..Reimagined was only a year and a half ago...and I don't think he performed it live
@@kathleenclark815 I'm sure they meant that he played it live on that set. There was someone who was one of the actors pretending to play the chello who backed this up saying that he was actually playing the piano there. (I mean, just imagine how silly it would be to be pressing keys on an actual piano and it not actually making any sound)
I'd successfully ignored all the old Falling in Reverse despite hearing it on the radio all the time. Until I heard the 'reimagined' songs. They're amazing. I'll definitely pay attention to whatever they do next. I saw an interview with Ronnie where he said he's put a huge effort into his vocals, which is pretty obvious!
I think it's both Ronnie has worked very hard over the years his voice has evolved so much from when he first started. He's always been naturally talented
I've been following FIR since the beginning and Ronnie never ceases to impress me. He is a genius. Their older stuff helped me a lot in highschool and this newer stuff helps me feel alive and just immerses me in a blissful world.
@@Roguenjosh Sean Rooney was behind the Revamped version also, he sent Ronnie a mixtape of classical versions of some of his songs and I can only wonder what other versions of FIR songs are on there :)
I'm actually very, very glad that I wasn't introduced to FIR until pretty recently because I fell in love immediately with the new(er) stuff but would have dismissed them way back when. HOWEVER, what's really weird is that the more I listen to the older stuff (partially through double reactions such as this and partially because my Pandora is set to FIR artist only mode) the more it grows on me. For instance, I'll find myself singing the older versions of the redone songs as I go about my day even though I disliked them the first time I heard them and think the new ones are perfection. It's kind of bizarre. I'm just enjoying the entire ride now, I guess. 😀
I took the same suggestion and started with this version and almost couldn’t get through it, got pretty catchy though right… then was absolutely blown away by the reimagined version. Masterpiece.
I’m sure you have a million comments to check out I’m not a vampire revamped but honestly all of their stuff is awesome. I’d also love to see you go over the ice nine kills silver scream series

His voice is natural but he definitely practiced and trained his voice to be as amazing as it is now. It's actually him playing the piano he taught himself to play
I don't know, if he took professional vocal lessons, but I'm sure, that he worked hard on his technical abilities, just because he's a perfectionist and very driven to get better in everything he does. He also was struggling with the vocals on his first album for an interesting reason: he went directly from 2,5 years in prison to the recording studio. While in prison he could only whisper sing in order to not provoke violent attacks from the other inmates. After being released he had physical and psychological problems to sing normal/loud. He had to work hard to overcome this mental block.
I have seen an interview where Ronnie Radke said he could always sing like this, but he just was not interested in singing like this a decade ago. I believe it is more about his growth in taste and direction. The meaning was always deep but harder to pick up before.

The reimagined one is a bloody masterpiece.
