How to Install PalWorld Mods on Steam & Xbox Game Pass (PC)

- Check the timecodes for where Xbox & Steam Begins! Hopefully this process improves overtime but with mods slowly releasing I wanted to throw out a guide for those who are interested!
I do plan on making a PalWorld Mods but let me know your thoughts if it's something you'd want to see or if you have any mod ideas to develop!

These mods are so cool for Palworld, I might install them to change the look and feel of the game.

2. Bump up your resolution to 4k & zoom if you’re having some trouble seeing the details!
3. Always check the mod description for more details around the install or limitations since some mods might not work on gamepass. Example: The spyro mod used in the thumbnail does not work on Gamepass.

awsome video, 1 question. there is a 3rd type of mod, the Reshade mods, that use .ini
Where do those go and how to activate them?
Haven’t had a chance to mess around with that reshade mods yet. I would keep an eye on the mod discussion thread. I’ll be out on vacation tomorrow so I won’t have a chance to experiment sadly. Let me know if it ends up working for you.

my paks and mods arent working? i have the unreal system, i have mods in the mod folder, and paks in the paks folder any reason why they dont work? i even have some mods used in the video and they dont work

how do i read xinput file it comes out all messed up when i use notepad
no need to read the xinput file - if you're on gamepass this just needs to be renamed from xinput1_3 to xinput1_4
you only need to edit the UE4SS-settings.ini settings to update "bUseUObjectArrayCache" to false & the mods.txt with the mods your are installing
hey can i get some help i did everything you said and did in the video for the gamepass version and i cant get the scripts to work for ulimited stamina etc.
As of today, I can confirm that the steps in this video are still valid but since there’s no way for me to know what you did I can only suggest to the following…
1. Revert all your changes & deleted anything you added. You can then re-verify the integrity of your installation so that you’re back to the initial state.
2. Try installing the vortex pal world extension which handles a lot of this for you.
I followed the video exactly but my game is crashing everytime I try to loadup:p

Since Nintendo will come at you with their legal team it's safer for platforms to avoid hosting it. Even within the modding discord it's strongly dismissed to avoid getting shut down. BUT if you have some skills with blender you can probably easily import your favorite "pocket monster". The models scale pretty close to one another. Check out the X/Twitter posts from byofrog.

so can i play this with friends on xbox, is it client sided or will they just not be able to load in?
just client side, you can still play with them while they wont be impacted
Its not working the mod (i use xbox gamepass and i check if its not working on gamepass and in the descrition says not only for steam)

hm i mean i put everything like in the video and a different one for xbox game pass but i cant change the false and true thing in the txt data cuz windows tells me i dont have enough rights to do it and all the xbox game folders are in overwrite disabled mode and because of the thing with the rights i cant change it even tho im the administrator
so the mods dont work ingame the script mods
You would need to write click the file or notepad, and select Run as administrator. I also try looking at the steps for the palworld Vortexx extension it could help instead of manually managing mods
Some reason I can't get the stamina and infinite ammo mods to work.

Yes, this is intended for the PC game pass client. They still call it the xbox app on the computer which is confusing.
can i still use vortex after all this?
This was published before the vortex palworld extension was released. Not sure if that’s what you mean when it comes to mod management but you would not need to do both.
how do you turn a steam save file into a pc game pass save?
I’ve seen a few Reddit thread with the steps, I would test those out to see if it works
@saint_kendrick I have sifted through every single source and Noone has actually clarified doable steps to steam to game pass. I even tried renaming files removing extensions replacing and nothing seems to work so far it doesn't seem as if the save steam has is relative to the save pc xbox has I wouldn't mind going into each file and trying to match up what I can and I did try it's mostly just gibberish cuniform lol
Weird thing is if you want to transfer to steam it's a simple place the file in the location and somehow steam converts one file into many magic files to be usable

Sorry man I still don’t understand the statement. This is intended for PC users even if you do these steps on your computer, No mods will transfer to your console.
If you are playing palworld on PC & have trouble with these steps, Try installing the vortex palworld extension. It handles a lot of this for you.
Ps. I switch between console and Xbox, pretty often using the same save, and the only things that persist to console are the 4th & 5th base I created on PC. Since I’m using the Duck's Progressive Bases mod.
mods still don't work after I followed the steps for gamepass
I can confirm that the removing flying stamina mod worked before replying but make sure you are installing a single mod at a time to make sure you don't run into any mod conflicts. Try the weight carry mod since it's quick to confirm, I included written steps. Double check to make sure you follow them carefully. Also, some script mods won't work with the "game tweaks" mod since their code overlap.
Testing a single mod:
1. Download UE4SS_Xinput_v2.5.2.zip & Download your single mod - WeightIncrease
2. Unzip UE4SS_Xinput_v2.5.2 to C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK\
3. Rename xinput1_3 to xinput1_4
4. the UE4SS-settings.ini file, set bUseUObjectArrayCache to false.
5. Delete all folders in the mods folder & leave mods.txt
6. Edit mods.txt and remove everything > save
7. Unzip your mod & drag the folder into the Mods Directory.
8. Check your folder to make sure it's not nested.
- Expected folder structure: Mods/vuxWeightIncrease/
- Not Mods/vuxWeightIncrease/vuxWeightIncrease/
9. Update your mods.txt files with "vuxWeightIncrease : 1". This should be the only line & save.
10. Test Game
If still no luck try...
1. In UE4SS-settings.ini - Change GuiConsoleVisible to 1. This will show the console logs where you should see the name of the mods during start-up
2. If stillllllll no luck, there are mentions of installation working in the alternative AppData path that was not mentioned in the video
- Path used in video: C:\XboxGames\Palworld\Content\Pal\Binaries\WinGDK
- Other Path to Test: C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK\Mods
3. IF STILLLL down bad - check on the nexas mod posts for anyone, it's tough to troubleshoot blindly
4. IF STILLLL REALLY REALLY DOWN BAD - buy the game on steam lmao.

Download UE4SS_Xinput_v2.5.2.zip
Extract to Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64
In the UE4SS-settings.ini file, set bUseUObjectArrayCache to false.
*Gamepass*
Download UE4SS_Xinput_v2.5.2.zip
Extract to C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK\
Alternatively, some users are reporting UE4SS should be installed in the following location: (C:\XboxGames\Palworld\Content\Pal\Binaries\WinGDK\)
Rename xinput1_3 to xinput1_4
In the UE4SS-settings.ini file, set bUseUObjectArrayCache to false.
Just play the game the way it's intended how hard is that??
That’s no fun buts it’s all subjective. Personally this could apply to life, but there’s lots of missed opportunity if you just operate in the sandbox you’re given.
Experiments lead to improvements. Similar to how there’s multiple interpretations of art this applies to how one perceives how the game should be played. Isn’t customizations & playing the game how they intend, what people are chasing in open world games anyways?

Sometimes mods are about improving performance. See how for example, Fallout New Vegas is a buggy mess without community patches and QoL mods.
