    You can tell that Henny was one of those older men that would crack jokes to workers who had to come over to perform work in his home.
    I've experience with guys like that. I used to work for a cable company and a few of us were in training, so we had to go with the trainer to do some work in an old school Italian guy's home. He had us cracking up with his dry sense of humor the whole time. I get the feeling Henny was just like that.

      No,I was not his agent nor his mortician. I was his psychotherapist for many years and believe me he better off stage than he was on stage. We used meet in Boston on Thursday's and talk for fifty minutes. He was great and he was the King of the one liners as well.

  • @petechapman301
    @petechapman301 Před 7 lety +3

    Well, if you want to get technical, Youngman was not very good at all with his delivery. His voice, body, and face were expressionless. He was somewhat monotonal, his his pace was one speed - fast and he just stood there motionless holding the violin. His delivery was not expressive to coincide with what he was saying. He'd blurt out a one liner so fast and with such little expression, you had to take a second or two after he blurted it out to figure out what he said and he'd just stand there expressionless waiting for you to laugh. And sometimes, you didn't laugh. In comedian's terms, he had no timing. He was just like a robot. It was like he was reading from a script. The only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was kind of funny looking, but he didn't use facial expressions.
    Rodney on the other hand, was a master. He had the body movements, the facial expressions (how he made his eyes pop out like that I'll never know), and the vocal expressions to coincide with his material. He essentially acted the part out while he was delivering the material. And his timing was impeccable. Overall, Rodney's schtick and material were better also, and Youngman used to steal some of Rodney's material.
