  • I am planning on removing my RB26dett engine from my R32 Nissan Skyline GTR EP2. I will be doing all of this myself at home in my tiny garage. With a failed front turbo and metal fragments in the bottom of the oil pan I suspect my RB26 has main bearing failure. I will be removing the RB26dett NISMO timing belt. Before I pull the engine, I want to take a little time to remove the camshafts and inspect the aluminum bearings in the head. I need to inspect the RB26dett cam caps and the camshafts for any signs of damage from metal partials in the oil . Let me know if you guys would like a video on the RB26 NZ wiring trigger kit I also want to inspect and clean out the HKS VCAM VTC Cam gear. I am planning a full engine tear down in the next month or so. My plans are to have the engine back from the machine shop and installed for next spring/summer. I have a long way to go on my Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, Wish me luck!

    Good stuff man! Your crank bolt seemed alot easier to get off than mine... Or I'm just weak AF lol

      I tried to get it off last week and I couldn't. But then I remember to use my jack handle. I got it off in the first pull really easy. You PRP trigger kit install video, I did see you struggling to get that bot free. I was looking just like you last week. I had my stomach against the front fender and my leg against the front wheel. I pulled as hard as I could an nothing. Your bravely posted the struggle with it and I did not. Needed the longer handled for that leverage. I think it's cool that you watch some of my videos. Your channel is what inspired me to start my YT channel. Have a good evening Dustin!

      Cool, I will do something with that. I will have to lay out all the parts and deconstruct how it works.

    Great video! didn’t realize it was so easy to replace the timing belt. Looks like you can take the radiator and clutch fan out then you can get to everything.

      Yes you can! Much easier than doing a timing belt on a Mitsubishi 3000gt VR-4! Lots of space to work with the sexy inline 6!

      Thanks David, glad you like the content. I am super pumped and motivated to keep building my channel. I wish I had more time to work on it. You know how the family and work life comes first. Car projects always come last. I hope your RB25 holds together since you just did the HKS Stroker kit on your R33 GTR.💪

      Heck yea man! And yea forsure, but hey you find time for the build when you can! That's all we can ask for lol super excited to see this all come together. I hope it does too, atleast for a couple years lol but at the same time I run it hard 😂

    tie wire a few earth magnets inside your cam covers and radiator. this will catch allot of the crap before it’s thrown back too the sump. buy earth magnets from ebay that have a whole in them, that way you can feed the tie wire through their or fasten the too either the roof of the cam covers or too the left over thread on the cam caps. for the radiator.. you can just throw a few earth magnets inside behind the sump plug (tie wired too the sump plug)

    Great vid as usual, very interested on the NZ cam angle sensor set up you have, not sure which ECU you are running. Be great to see how its wired and if it merits the cost of it as compared to the stock CAS, I am not going over 600 rear HP so not sure I need it? Thanks again, thumbs up.

      I am running a Link G4+ ECU. I will shot some video a little later on all the components to the NZ wiring trigger kit. It will give me some easy filler content for next week, so I can have a weekend to rest.

      @@JDMRightHandDrive I purchased the same Link but not many tuners around my area are available, other than the base tune that comes with it I will be learning it quickly as soon as it goes into the car. Any suggestions will be helpful as I go along, thanks for your channel input, thumbs up.

      Couple of my lower main bearings had big gouges in them. Engine has been machined and goes off for assembly at Intec Racing next week. HKS step 2 2.8 here I come.

    With your radiator, did you have to move the power steering lines? I have a Greddy radiator (50mm) but I’m unsure if I will need to turn them

    • @JDMRightHandDrive
      @JDMRightHandDrive  Před rokem +1

      With the Koyo Rad it was able to drop right in just like the stock radiator. I did not have to move any of the lines. Good luck with your Greddy, that radiator looks beautiful.

    Are you running v cam with OEM ECU? Is the valcon electronic standalone? Is it save to use OEM oil pump? Thanks

    • @JDMRightHandDrive
      @JDMRightHandDrive  Před 2 lety +1

      My car has a Link G4+ ecu, which is running the VCam. Stock oil pump works with VCam with no problems.

    Hey man, do you have a Snap-On part number for that puller? None of the chinese garbage sold today really works on the harmonic balancer on my RB26. Simple job has turned into a cluster f*ck. Thanks for the vid. Thumbs up.

    • @JDMRightHandDrive
      @JDMRightHandDrive  Před 2 lety +1

      The one in my video was from my 80 year old next door neighbor. But I did order a made in china one from Amazon, which is the same one Dustin &goodezilla used. I test fitted it and everything lined up correctly. There is a link in my description on the video for this tool. Hope that helps. I know the feeling of everything turning into a cluster fluck!

      @@JDMRightHandDrive The link to Amazon you have posted, the kit doesn't list M6 bolts, my harmonic takes size M6 on the 2 threaded holes on the harmonic, am I incorrect? Thanks for your help man.

      @@1970PMD I will look at it when I get home. I used the Allen bolts from my compressor inlet pipes on my neighbors kit.
