- USA captain Jordan Larson was named Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter of the Tokyo 2020 Dream Team, leading the team to win gold and complete their Olympic medal collection. Larson led the USA in scoring with a total of 96 points in eight matches, including a 12-point contribution in the USA's sweep of Brazil in the gold medal match. The 34-year-old outside hitter heads a Dream Team of elite players that showcased inspiring performances throughout the competition in the Japanese capital. She's a very charismatic captain, rarely agitated on court unless it's something that's glaringly unfair. Such a great captain and it's gonna be weird seeing Team USA without the NO 10 JORDAN LARSON as the captain. Jordan Larson and Foluke Akinradewo duo is gonna be terribly missed on the court.

Very happy for Larson and Akinradewo! They have been around for a decade and this was a great way to end their Olympic careers.
She can attack in all angles all situations. She is the person who scored the gold medal point of the last set. She is strong and has good leadership. USA has officially comeback for Beijing 2008 and London 2012 when they let Brazil take Gold. This is the best team ever of USA. They are humble and chill. Not like other teams, always yell and show off when they score a point. And I saw the coach shedding his tears, he made it.

She was the glue. She and Bartsch-Hackley held it together in the first set and then Drewes caught on fire. The entire team played exceptionally well. I think Karch should turn over the women's team to an assistant and take on the men's job. Speraw has flat-lined and it's time to start building for the next Olympics.
She's going to be missed. So happy for het to end her Olympics as a Champion. You deserved that elusive Gold Medal along with the entire team. Congrats US Women's Volleyball Team. You guys are awesome to watch.

The video seems only interested in her spiking and tipping, but she was a complete player. Her passing, digging, blocking, and secondary setting when the setter was not available made her a complete player. To sum it up, she was the Karch Kiraly of women's volleyball, that is to say, the best all-around player in the world.

I will miss seeing her play for the USA Team. She led the team to its first-ever olympic gold and I think nobody will replace her. How I wish she will not retire but I think she deserves to enjoy another path of her life and fulfill her dreams. My forever idol, God bless you Jordan Larson! ❤️🙏
USA and Brazil are the most underrated teams because others claim they don't have a star hitter. They didn't realize it takes 6 to play volleyball and not a single player can make the team win. Tested and proven in Tokyo 2020.

@@wkim22 , Yes, there must be 6, but it only takes 1 player to define the game. I've seen this a lot, especially China in 2016 with Zhu Ting. It is obvious that a player who scores a lot of points is decisive in a match.

MVP is for the entirety of the Olympics, not just a match or two, not even just for what is seen just on the court. Sometimes a game or two can give an example that makes the choice easy, sometimes the greatness on the court from many teams leads to the third, fourth, fifth characteristic measured before a stand out is noticed. I think her leadership, her play when not on the attack, and her contributions to keeping the team together & focused in the most challenging & unusual circumstances as what Covid introduced, which may have been questioned, but the team winning the gold medal answered loudly.
I can not find fault in picking Larson, in being the team Captain for the Gold Medal winning team, with her great all around play, as the MVP. What her and JWO did in the back court was spectacular, and her clutch attacking and serving was superb.

@@QuickChillVideos Yes. I had a conversation with Kim Glass about Logan at a bar in Manhattan Beach and Nicole Davis was on a podcast and discussed the issue on Logan’s attitude. I guess she thought she was the queen 🐝
I am a big fan of Larson and Tom. I’ll give Tom a slight edge when it comes to all around play. But Larson’s leadership and connection with her team is admirable. I think she is such a good leader in and outside the court. I hope the rumours about Logan is untrue.

It's a tradition that MVP should come from the winner team. Maybe not only the tradition but the rule, I don't know.
My logical thinking is a little bit different : MVP should be one of all players in any tournament. In Tokyo olympic I think Tijana Boskovic is the real MVP She got two prestigious titles : best scorer and best attacker, even her points are too high for any other players.
Jordan Larson is MVP for USA Team, but MVP for tournament is Tijana Boskovic. If possible better to create the new awarding : MVP and Overall MVP (refers to Golfing tradition, there are best gross overall, and best gross per handicap-category).
KYK is the MVP in 2012 London Olympics. Her team finished 4th.
I'm quite surprised Fe Garay isn't even part of the dream team. She has good stats in scoring, attacking, as well as receiving. I know Kim isn't listed because her team finished 4th but she deserves best outside hitter and probably mvp since she is everywhere in the stats. Just like in London 2012 when she won the mvp even without medal. Tijana excels mainly in scoring and attacking. It seems the stats are not really taken into account and they only consider those in the gold medal match. Glad that tijana still got her best opposite tho. Anyway, USA deserves the gold.
Boskovic will have her time to be an Olympic MVP. Jordan Larson MVP is well deserved. She is up there in defense and offense department. Her leadership is the X-Factor why the USA won gold medal, that is something it’s hard to put a premium too. THE MVP (most valuable player) meaning it is that is the go-to person and exceed expectations in leading a team. That’s what Larson did. Boskovic is expected to score more (most of the sets were given to her, anyway). She is expected to. How about her passing? Her digs? We should not look into a player’s qualification just because she is number 1 in one department. Bosko is a great player but there are other great players than her as of this time. No hate to boskovic but discrediting Larson is just 🙄.
