Martin Luther King on "Agape," a Form of Love at the Core of Nonviolent Resistance

  • "Agape is more than romantic love. Agape is more than friendship. Agape is not something affectionate. Agape is creative, understanding, redemptive, goodwill for all... When one rises to love on this level he loves men not because he likes them, but he loves every man because God loves him... And so he rises to the level of hating the system rather than the individual who is caught up in that system. He loves the person and hates the evil deed... more and more I've come to believe this - that this is the way we will get out of this dark night of oppression."

Agape... Yes, yes and yes. 💕 Lord, let agape reach into the hearts of every man & woman in this world. It is only through showing love to each other, every man & woman, that we can ever hope to heal. Hate and hammers don't heal, don't create bonds that endure, don't make lasting change, don't soften hardened hearts. Love does that.

    The agape love...
A man that is used by God is a very powerful man and only God can change this world. God uses whoever he wants to do his will. It's very important in this life time to understand who side you are really fighting against. I'm so happy that Martin Luther King demonstrated the agape love

Agape Grows by how you give it freely and it flows into you freely.
Avarice Grows by what it feeds on.

I have experienced agape most of all. As a young child I felt this love for all but didn't know what it was, couldn't explain it, though I felt it I was not consciously aware of what it was I was feeling. I am anarchist when it comes to the system of man put in place to separate us, oppress and suppress our human consciousness and human compassion. I hate the cystomb itself and love all life and natural Laws of the universe.

I wish his voice would not have been overshadowed by music. It would have been more effective to have the music very low in the background.

Michael King was a communist. And AGAPE is BROTHERLY LOVE. It's a GREEK word and the opposite of EROS.
