Almost as good as the Pro at half the price. $3,000 for the Pro but $1,500 for the TRP. So, I bought an AK and SS version of the TRP and am very happy I did.
just under 1000 rounds in my TRP, and my slide to frame fitment is so loose it resembles a 1911 from 1911..... incredibly dissatisfied with the poor quality. brand new it didn't move at all 0 play. at 500 it started to loosen up. now about 900 and I wish I'd never bought the thing it's so loose....
I’ve had two TRP’s with loose slides. Honestly after a more than 5 of them I’ve come to realize TRP’s are good pistols but kind of overrated. They are loaded models with upgrades but we seem to think they are semi custom quality which frankly they are not. In. CA these pistols run $1600-$1700 out the door and that’s flat out ridiculous.
lgboost: Yes it did bother me. I don’t like loose slides on my 1911s.They tried to convince me that it’s normal and mentioned the TRP is in fact a normal production gun. I reminded them that TRP’s are advertised as having hand fitted slides ect and they cost $1700 out the door in CA. In the end in both accounts Springfield refitted the slide and worked their magic with their renowned warranty. I like Springfield feel like their quality is lacking as of late.
Bought mine used and I've put around 2-3k through mine, still shoots like a laser. Obviously there is some looseness in the slide fit but I haven't seen any loss of accuracy.
I bought mine in 2005, it came with cocobolo wood grips instead of the synthetic they come with now. The trigger is super smooth, great gun.
any holster recommendations for the half rail model?
I picked up a used trp.Shoots as good as my Wilsons.Fit and finish not as pretty but an incredible value for a great shooting weapon.
Whats the difference betweem the TRP and normal 1911 A-1?
How about railed version with traditional barrel and bushing
Love the gun! Wish I could get one, lol.
+Machine_Of_Death Wish I could FIND one.
+einfussganger Umm.. Gunbroker, GunsAmerica, Bud's... lots of online retailers have them NIB and used.
I want one of these so much !!!!!

Aero 2.3_HOT indeed that is robbery, did it bother you to have a loose slide like that? did you keep them or trade in ?

Great guns... but the 20 lines per inch checkering/cheese gratter on the front strap killed my hands. I had to sell it.
Edde2016 maybe you should lift some weights, put some callouses on your hands, and quit being a bitch.
@@Richardjohnson6969 That's the best you could do after 48 hours of editing?...haha.
Edde2016 2 hours and it was edited to add a comma. I see it doesn’t bother your bitch fingers that much to type on a keyboard though. Ironic
Your hands hurt...what'd you buy, MnP shield...men these days
