    Great vdo Laura, thank you -- can this method be used for spinach as well?

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  Pƙed 2 lety

      Yes, absolutely for spinach sold in a bunch. Spinach leaves are usually pre-washed and will wilt if not dried very well if you choose to wash them in thi smethod. That said, I often transfer the spinach out of the package (the leaves) into a zip bag with a paper towel to absorb moisture and try to keep them fresh longer.

    My lettuce never lasts more than two days, and I do all that

      It depends on how old the salad was when you bought is and how cold your fridge is.

    No!!! Don’t Do It!!!! I did this yesterday, and tonight I can’t fine ONE piece of lettuce that isn’t rusted. Ruined my entire head of lettuce by adding white vinegar. I’ll never do a white vinegar rinse on my lettuce again.

      The most common reason for browning on lettuce is a chemical process known as oxidation due to the metal in your knife or overly handling the lettuce giving the leaves micro-tears. The vinegar is used to wash it and kill bacteria and should be fully rinsed. Excess soaking, not fully drying the leaves, and improper storage + excess humidity can also cause lettuce to brown fast once chopped.

    This seems like alot of work to keep lettuce fresh to be honest.

    Ice berg lettuce has very little nutritional value. Cos lettuce is much better
