If he plays abroad, most people aren't bothered about what happened, his girlfriend has forgiven him and given him a 2nd chance, so Spanish fans (or fans from other countries) will also give him a 2nd chance. This becomes highly political in England, so there would be incredible negative publicity if Greenwood ever returns to Man Utd, companies might threaten to sever links with Man Utd, the Man Utd women's team might go on strike, it could be a total disaster and needs clever media management.
