I had to laugh when Maddie opened the can of worms. I few years ago I spent Christmas at the Vatican, and started talking before the service with the people beside me from Washington DC, and a bishop from Brazil. Before he left when the mass was 20 minutes from starting, the bishop said to the couple from DC "I just want to leave you with one lesson. I am from Brazil, he (pointing at me) is from Canada, and all four of us are Americans".
Yes he was correct, people born in Europe are called Europeans, people born in Africa are called Africans, I don't see why people born all over the American Continent can't call themselves Americans.
its not a can of worms. it global communist "political correctness" in action. Historically the word "American" specifically meant a person from the USA. ppl dont go around proclaiming what continent they are from.
Actually he wad wrong in English. Wr are all from the Americas. Continentally we are North or South Americans, but only people from the US are Americans. In Spanish or Portuguese it's different. They also habe other continents...this causes the confusion.
By the way, I am in Queretaro and I love it. Can't wait to see how you rate it with all the cities you have been to. For me, better than Oaxaca. Keep on the good work, I like you guys.
Maddie, No worries about "Tex Mex" cuisine. It's good to let people visiting from the U.S. and Canada know that real Mexican cuisine is varied and complex. And as a native Texan, I know that Tex Mex is very much a fusion cuisine from northern Mexico + South Texas. It's all good! And as my great-uncle used to say, "You can call me anything, just don't call me late for dinner."
Just a little thing , "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" would translate to "United Mexican States" not "United States of Mexico", that would be "Estados Unidos de México", the only places that officially have "México" in their name are Mexico City, the State of Mexico and... New Mexico lol. There were attempts to change the official name to the country to just "Mexico" but it never got enough interest in the congress.

You've mentioned this before about driving down there, but one thing that surprised me was people putting their left blinkers on when they wanted you to pass them on the left. It's confusing.
When I was in Queretaro I remarked that I don't see any sombreros here. The response: that is only in Texas. LOL! I love the Mexican sense of humor, they are best!
I actually love the fact that u only upload videos on Saturday. It makes me look forward to the weekend. Too much videos sometimes become repetitive and with less quality content. Also, u get to include much more activities and places to visit in one video. Instead of one video for each place.
I love Querétaro. It is a great city, a bit expensive though. Please go to Tequisquiapan, and Peña de Bernal. Both great places, part of the Ruta del Vino.
I've heard of this "American" debate so many times and can't believe people still didn't figure out a simple thing: meaning of words is defined in the language they belong to. "American" in American English means citizen of the USA, full stop. "Americano" en español means a person living somewhere in America, North, South or Central. Both words have the right to exist in the realm of their own language with their own definitions, which are different. "I am American" is translated to Spanish as "soy estadounidense", not as "soy americano". P.S. Love your videos, always watch them, thanks!

I think chimichangas were invented in Arizona as a variation of the burrito, tipical food from Sonora. Come to Hermosillo, you won`t find chimichangas, but a good range of different types of burros. Saludos!
@@Imrapatton Hi Irma! Yes me too. We would make chivichangas at home actually, we called them like that. Surprisingly, yesterday I saw them in a menu. But I don´t remember having seen them in a restaurant in Hermosillo before. You CAN find chimichangas after all, but they are not as big as the ones in Arizona. Burros "percherones" on the other hand are more popular. Maybe, you´re right and I haven´t been paying attention.
Thank you guys! I’ve told so many of my friends that we, Mexicans, but also the rest of Latin American countries, come in all colors. Also, They get surprised when I tell them that Mexico has rivers and lots of bodies of water - it’s not just desert and tumbleweeds 😂. I encountered the “American” snafu when I flew back from Chile. A lady on the plane asked me where I was from and I said America and she immediately corrected me...We’re also Americans (Chileans, Argentinians, Colombians, etc. are from South AMERICA) (Mexicans, Belizeans, Hondurans, etc from Central America)... you get the drift... so now I tell people I’m from Texas and get no flack (although they ask if I own a horse 😂).
If someone asked you where you’re from, then answering with a location (as opposed to an adjective) makes a ton of sense. But, how does the fact that we’re all Americans make someone who is from the United States of America somehow not American? That doesn’t make sense.
@@Nezuko_91463 I took it as we, from the USA, are arrogant to think that we’re the only Americans. I didn’t take offense, it was obvious to me that she was the one with the problem.
Great video...and Yep you will get comments about Americans living in Mexico 🤭. Btw Mexico added United States to their name AFTER the USA and did it as a compliment to their affection for the USA. A lot has changed.
Chimichangas are from Arizona not Texas. Just so ya know!! Not all Mexican food in the USA is Tex-Mex. Taco Bell style crunchy tacos and those huge overstuffed burritos are Cal-Mex. In northern Mexico you will see tacos dorados which are made by filling a corn tortilla, folding it, and then placing it in a pan with a small amount of manteca or veg oil but they're not deep fried. Tex-Mex, Sonoran or southwest cuisine like in Arizona or New Mexico, and Cal-Mex are all great fusion cuisines in the American border states and all three of them are distinct regional American cuisines where the foods of our states combines with the food of the northern Mexican states with wonderful results!!
Burritos and totopos or nachos are mexican food, not cal-mex or tex-mex...for example, burritos are from Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua and the original wheat flour tortillas with which they are prepared are gigantic called sobaqueras, they are not small...wikipedia...regards!
@@garza0073 Well.... If you were to ask Ignacio Anaya down there in Piedras Negras, Coahuila WAY back in the day (1940) he'd tell ya that his nickname - Nacho became famous because he created a totopo (snack) that he put together for some American wives whose husbands were stationed between Carrizo Springs, TX and the Border. They drove over to have dinner and drinks but the kitchen had closed down so Ignacio in a brilliant stroke of genius turned on the deep frier, tossed some corn tortillas in to make tostadas, topped them with cheese and jalapeno slices, finished them under a salamander (gas broiler) and served them to the American military wives. Word got out on our side of the Border about this new food & a legend was born!! My whole point is that that our regional border cuisines wouldn't exist without such wonderful regional culinary diversity and ingenuity. And REAL Border cuisine affects and enriches both sides. It's incorrect to call all of it Tex-Mex##
not really..... in Mexico they call, "son del norte" (nortenos) a todos los que son de los estados del norte de Mexico, (Chihuahua where I'm from, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Durango and many other states
@@guillermovillaseorgomez5018 An appropriate option is Gringos from Gringolandia. Iit's not offensive or pejorative, it's simply a fact. Since there are other countries made up of the unions of states that are also in America. (Brazil and Mexico).
Great information! Love videos with real content. Thanks to both of you for the great job. Will be checking out Queretaro later in the year, hope I can employ yall for a tour of the city if your there.
Your tours and reviews are nice and realistic. One thing to understand: the native mexican people have been in "disadvantage conditions" since the Spanish conquista and subsequent social displacement due to the nature of the economic system. And you are absolutely right: they carry what we understand as authentic mexican traditions in their art, food, language and sense of community
Hola chicos! I've been watching your videos for years now and love every one! I was glad though you finally brought up the importance, or at least the awareness, that people from the U.S. are not the only people who identify as "Americans"...it's a misnomer! It's an important thing for people to conceptualize. más, i didn't notice that pizza was everywhere when i was living there, (i was in veracruz and don't recall pizza very much) i definitely remember seeing WINGS everywhere. wingstop, mr. wings, hot wings, wingstreet...my friends said they're everywhere in CDMX at least because those places tend to have good promociones on beer!
I am always happy to see your videos, theres something about your videos that is missing from most of the world if that makes sense. You are bringing humanity back into what being human is about; and exploration and discovery is the heart of human nature and what we are, and you are out doing just that, and thriving. And one thing I do like about Mexico, they have the only Amazon customers that NEVER complain about ANYTHING, never any requests for returns, no problems ever. Though I wonder how much of the gold-filled jewelry I ship down there gets re-stamped 14K and sold to tourists as "bargain" solid gold jewelry... Which I feel responsible on this point to mention... There is gold filled metal that is PRECISELY the same color on the inside as the gold on the outside which means even if you file into it you will never know it is just coated in gold, so be careful folks. I always sell my stuff as gold filled, but I know not what my buyers will do with it and I haven't seen anyone really talking about this.

There is better education here in merida, but if you don’t have kids (or you have very young kids) thats a great place to live. Try first a Airbnb !
So y’all should definitely do an episode on the types of pizzas found in Mexico. We always see y’all reviewing authentic Mexican food I think it would be a cool change of pace to see their pizzas.
Second!
And burgers 😂
@@brianabare7515 The best hamburgers can be found in Zona Rosa in Mexico City. One can also enjoy very authentic Kimchi.
@@AHPSC thanks! Will check it out!
In Oaxaca I had a pizza with crusted grasshoppers. Great experience except for my stomach the next morninh.
And he was absolutely Right !!
Since we are all in the
AMERICAN CONTINENT
Yes he was correct, people born in Europe are called Europeans, people born in Africa are called Africans, I don't see why people born all over the American Continent can't call themselves Americans.
@@robertkennedy6397 people refer themselves from what country they come from, not what continent you silly rabbit.
its not a can of worms. it global communist "political correctness" in action.
Excellent video, it is one of your best videos, so informative to a potential traveler to Mexico, like me.
Great video as usual! Thanks for the awesome info. It's amazing to hear that Mexico City is sinking that much each year!
It seems you did a lot of research for this video! I never knew there was a hidden pyramid in El Pueblito!?
Eh Karen ! 😃 Acabo de conocer tu canal hace unas semanas y ya me eché muchos videos, la verdad está muy chido tu canal 😁
@@cuckoo61 muchas gracias!. Qué chido que te guste 🙌🙌
Learning how to pronounce "estadounidense"is a major breakthrough and much appreciated by Latin people.
Nice :) your vids make me happy
Just a little thing , "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" would translate to "United Mexican States" not "United States of Mexico", that would be "Estados Unidos de México", the only places that officially have "México" in their name are Mexico City, the State of Mexico and... New Mexico lol. There were attempts to change the official name to the country to just "Mexico" but it never got enough interest in the congress.
You guys are bueatiful together. You to were ment for each other. You've mentioned this before about driving down there, but one thing that surprised me was people putting their left blinkers on when they wanted you to pass them on the left. It's confusing.
SO CONFUSING! 😫
people do that in Europe too. I thought it was universal.

As always, adorable videos that make me feel as if I were in my beloved Mexico! Son fantásticos y su vibración, increíble!

When I was in Queretaro I remarked that I don't see any sombreros here. The response: that is only in Texas. LOL! I love the Mexican sense of humor, they are best!
Thank you for speaking about the Indigenous populations.

I actually love the fact that u only upload videos on Saturday. It makes me look forward to the weekend. Too much videos sometimes become repetitive and with less quality content. Also, u get to include much more activities and places to visit in one video. Instead of one video for each place.
Very interesting! I learned a lot!
Glad to have you in my hometown Queretaro, feel your self at home, sure you will be showing the great things we love form here
We waved as we passed by you guys today on our way to Cholula!
I am Mexican and also an american. Hello Tangerines and have a nice stay in the best City in México. The beautiful Querétaro!!!
Thanks for shearing your video. I want to mention that my lovely wife is from chihuahua y los burritos are the best food in all México.
¡Datos curiosos e interesantes! Saludos
Thankyou for the wonderful video, keep up the great work.
What’s something else you were surprised to learn about Mexico? 🤔🇲🇽
Good morning
That there's a loud, *kickass* rock trio made up of three sisters from Monterrey named "The Warning." You can find them here on CZcams and they're a LOT of fun!
That in the state of jalisco and surrounding, we drink a breakfast drink called Pajarete , alcoholic beverage straight from the cow , Pajaretes Contreras , on Facebook
I’m surprised you guys haven’t been in the biggest state of the Mexican republican states witch is chihuahua chihuahua México you need to go to Cuauhtémoc chih. My best tip about being Mexico is do not draw attention to yourself lol
I think chimichangas were invented in Arizona as a variation of the burrito, tipical food from Sonora. Come to Hermosillo, you won`t find chimichangas, but a good range of different types of burros. Saludos!
I grew up eating chimichangas... so does all my family and we are from Hermosillo...
Maybe saying you are from "the United States," might make it different enough.
Actually México is in North America, Central America starts in Guatemala and Belice. NAFTA: US, México and Canada
A friend of mine is from Africa, some one asked her did she see lions, giraffes, she said no, I lived in a city. 🥴
You guys bring me to freedom and for that thank you ❤

You forgot one thing about Mexican Pizzas , it seams that pizza is one of the few foods Mexican like to put Catsup on .
I always thought it was weird that I get packets of that every time I order a pizza.
What?? Nope, we don’t. They just do it in certain places, like Guadalajara. Most of us don’t do it, but we add pepper!
Wonderful new information. I really appreciate it. And Maddie I love your hairdo like that
Can’t wait to see your video about Querétaro. That city is in the top of my list for retiring.
Great video...and Yep you will get comments about Americans living in Mexico 🤭.
Btw Mexico added United States to their name AFTER the USA and did it as a compliment to their affection for the USA. A lot has changed.
You gave information we weren't even aware of, so thanks for the information
Great video, as usual. Thank you. Can't you use "Estadounidense" for "American"?
Thank you! And sure, you can use that word if you're speaking Spanish.
Thank you so much for this very interesting video
Wow looks awesome I’m headed there this weekend 🤙🏼☃️🏖
Corn tortillas were gradually introduced to northern Mexico because only flour tortillas were used even as late as the 1970’s.
@@miguel-h ??
When I lived in Louisiana, I had so much access to Tex-Mex and grew up on it. I live in Washington now and there’s no Tex-Mex here.
Buenos días amigos!!!.. when I go to Mexico I say “soy del Norte” that way they know it’s USA.
Not really. Canada is also at north.
not really.....
in Mexico they call, "son del norte" (nortenos) a todos los que son de los estados del norte de Mexico, (Chihuahua where I'm from, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Durango and many other states
@@guillermovillaseorgomez5018 An appropriate option is Gringos from Gringolandia. Iit's not offensive or pejorative, it's simply a fact. Since there are other countries made up of the unions of states that are also in America. (Brazil and Mexico).

Great video! Interesting
Happý Easter to you guys and thank you🐣🐥🌻💕🇮🇸
Hola chicos!
If you guys love Mexico you're gonna love the Philippines probably more. please come down and check it out. you're welccome!
Yes I used "And" many times more than I normally do, so, my apologies :)
I would like to learn Spanish, but as you say, it's overwhelming. Since you are being Sponsored by Rocket Languages, why don't you do a video of the two of you using their course on your computer? For me, that would be enlightening and fun. Seeing you do it would be encouraging perhaps. Oh, and by the way, this is one of your best videos. You two are really becoming entertainers. CZcamsrs who take the time to plan their videos are successful. I won't watch videos of people who just turn on the camera and start rambling.
Excellent video.
Queretaro is a really nice city and I'm sure you will like it there. It has been a get away city for people from CDMX now for years. It used to be Cuernavaca, but now Qro. is growing by leaps and bounds. Lots of good panaderias there too. They just built a huge mall in the outskirts of the city which is quite nice. A great video as usual, and have fun in Qro.
