    ...but Wilson's airless ball bounces like a normal basketball... yours doesn't. Maybe that's why Wilson charges a premium? When you can print one that responds like a real ball for less than $2500, then make another video.

    • @hot_wheelz
      @hot_wheelz Před 3 měsíci +10

      Yeah that's because Wilson prints their ball in PEBA which costs a bomb.

    • @engineericly
      @engineericly  Před 2 měsíci +22

      They use different kind of expensive printer, which I don’t have access to that:(

    • @anthonyhca
      @anthonyhca Před 2 měsíci +8

      They use different material but if you think thay make's the $2500 value reasonable because "it bounces more like a basketball." You're absolutely delusional😂

    • @hot_wheelz
      @hot_wheelz Před 2 měsíci

      @@engineericly you don't need access to the big commercial printers they use. If you have an FDM printer that can print 85a TPU then it can print PEBA ... Just be warned that PEBA is hella expensive.

      They spent years trying to perfect the formula for it, which took a lot of cost, time and effort. I doubt the manufacturing cost to be even a fifth of that; they are probably just trying to recoup the money that they invested in R&D.
      And how about not blindly responding to a comment with no information about the subject whatsoever?

    • @idkusername2795
      @idkusername2795 Před 2 měsíci

      It should be printed in something fairly rigid but shock resistant, the less it dampens the impact the better it is. I don’t know if there is any such material commercially available but you can probably find something similar. If regular PLA weren’t so brittle it would probably be really good for printing the ball, sadly it shatters if you look at it wrong.
