A message to Mauricio Pochettino. In today's Chelsea video, I speak with Josh Aveste about Mauricio Pochettino. How Chelsea's season has turned around dramatically in the second half of the season. Poch says that our season changed against Spurs at 3 point Lane. I say that it changed away at Palace. In that match we saw the team start to fight to pull results against low blocks.

In the last 4¹/2 matches what we've managed to do was add clean sheets, but ultimately we've only lost 3 matches all year.
Further, at the beginning of the season we'd beg anyone to take Conor, Cucu and maybe Trevor off our books but look what Poch has done with them. He genuinely brings the best out of players willing to work with him. Poch in!💙💙💙

Most of the fans only with the club since Abramovich are reactionary. Us long time fans before the Abramovich, have more sensible take as a fan of this wonderful club. Stop this nonsense. Everyone was behind him in pre-season, we were hopeful until he started playing players out of position when it was so obvious to everyone. The man played Levi Colwill at LB when he had natural LB sitting on the bench who’s gunna play on the CL in few weeks time.

Just sayin, I've been POCHIN all season, still there. In fact the recent form we are in now came earlier than I expected considering the changes and complete rebuild we have had last year. I am still hoping for more but am more than happy with what I am seeing now

The thing that screws me up about the timing of us finding form is that every time our team takes a break from football it's like any momentum evaporates, think the last few international breaks. We usually went into it with a win, and come back with loss streaks.
poch taking the job was kind of brave of him in the first place, he knew it would be a challenge winning the fans over. I wasnt that keen at first then I thought well if he is such a tottenham man why would he put himself forward for the job. he knew taking the job would ruin his legacy with them but he was willing to do it, so maybe he isnt such a tottenham man after all. He was up for giving us a chance so he deserves that respect back.

glad to hear it mate. I can understand the frustration regarding poch but i think as a project manager hes genuinely made our youngsters world beaters. Some other fan creators just love to bash poch as an emotional reaction and/or farming rage bait content which frustrates me as a chelsea fan

We are the most hyper critical of Premier club fans, we have to admit that. The fact remains, Pochettino did a fantastic job at Southampton playing great football…a highly impressive job at Spurs (Only missing out on the title because Leicester play the season of the century). He’s a highly competent Premier League coach who can now compete with a side with proper funds and better resources. Tuchel hit a ceiling with us (like he then did at Bayern). This season has been torturous at many times, but I’m so impressed how they’ve finished strongly. That’s the progress we were looking for. The team is beginning to look like that… a team.
Many fanbases were mocking Chelsea early in the season. Now we could possibly finish 5th. Big up Poch.

What do you mean “We were wrong”? I was never wrong! I always backed the gaffer. I’ve been saying ALL SEASON that this is a different Chelsea. The sack ‘em culture is gone. I’ve always said that down to me, as long as we stay in the premier league Poch’s position is safe. Very few managers have the pedigree bringing youngsters through. It’s a project, give the dude time. Look at Arteta, I would say, look how far they’ve come! If Arteta was at Chelsea, he’d have been sacked a long time ago. I’ve been saying this all season and I’ve been proven right.

Went to my first match in 1975 still got the programme ticked off Ray butch Wilkins captain 17 So I’ve seen a few managers over the years but he hasn’t done too bad really considering all the bad injuries we have had. We can’t keep on sacking managers. Look at Arteta how he started We are doing ok at the moment. Maybe a striker centre back and goalkeeper

I think the reason why so many Chelsea fans are now saying Poch in is due to Poch himself doing a 180. Remember the Poch that refuses to make subs until the 70th min or the Poch that puts out a formation but doesn't know how to adapt it to beat low-block teams etc. or the Poch that thought playing Badie and Disasi as CBs against Arsenal while bringing on Silva only when we were 5 nil down? It was perfectly understandable that fans wanted Poch out. But now, we have a Poch that is speaking against the management, a Poch who has made the necessary changes like putting Cucu as a sweeper and a Poch who brings on subs much, much earlier to try to win the game. That and we are actually benefitting well from a Caicedo x Gallager pivot with Chalobah and many players finding form. So credit to Poch. This is the Poch we need.

It was GBFC and Younness Talks Football that got me subscribe to first, but u continued with 'Poch out' each time Chelsea lost, I found solace in hooking onto Football Yannick who showed more understanding of the issues like rebuilding with young talented footballers most of who come from countries outside of England with no experience in the EPL. The other issue of injuries to some key players was also overlooked. Was it outright hatred for Poch that took the better of u? Thank God that some of us have vindicated who called for patience for the rebuilding of Chelsea which appears to be bearing fruits now.
I hope we do a u turn and give Silva a 7 year contract

I said from the get go he needs time. We didn't get the results we wanted but we had some moments of good passing or attacks. We just weren't consistent enough. The fact that people wanted a top 4 with players age being 25 and under.... like come on. Name me one team that is full of non experienced players that won the league

I'm glad that Pochettino has turned our season around. I didn't think he had it in him, to be honest. However, I'm not getting behind the idea that we're back" just yet.
For one, Pochettino has to prove that this is a substantive turnaround, not just a good run of form. Second, we need to be wary of the board potentially using this turnaround as an excuse to "U-turn" on their scrapping of the under-25 model. Let's not start pretending that it hasn't been a disaster: if it wasn't for Cole Palmer, we would still be 12th in the table.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Whilst I think he should get another season, we've had a relatively easy run in. Whilst we did beat Tottenham, the last decent team we played before that spanked us 5-0.
We are behind arsenal and City this calender year in form so that's not getting ahead of ourselves.

Many CZcamsrs release videos right after the match because of "getting the video out first". Which means if their team loses, they haven't digested the result at all. And that is why I am having issues with opinions of most CZcamsrs.
With that said, it's all about time. It's all about life. Think logically, when things don't work out. If you put great players together, it's a question about time. Don't be naive.

We were valid to say poch out in the first part of the season he was making silly mistakes and wrong setups but he turn it around and now seems to be doing a good job so poch in hope he keeps doing what he's doing now and improve upon what he has going on now well done poch you made the adjustments needed

I find it hard to watch George at times with his OTT optimism. Poch himself said he hasn't won the fans over yet because he hasn't won anything yet. And George tell me what will your opinion be if we lose to Bournemouth and Newcastle win? Flip-Flop again?
I'm old school Chels and when a manager comes in he has to prove himself by winning something, Poch hasn't. We have had two seasons of crap and Poch should of been sacked imo months ago. Never wanted him here in the first place but when appointed I was prepared to give him a chance. Anyone remember the 5-0 loss to Arsenal and how the players just gave up, not the Chels of the Roman era. It isn't just Poch, the owners are clowns and we have some poor directors but also one or two good ones.
We find Chelsea on a run and it is great to see especially beating Tottenham but this alone doesn't make up for all the games we have thrown away and at times Poch has thrown away through dumb substitutions. If Poch can win against Bournemouth let us see what he can do when the pressure is back on and how he handles Euro Competition then if he comes through that then maybe give him an extension otherwise replace him.

One should be criticized for a sloppy work just as the same person should be praised when the job is good.
